Travel To Istanbul Turkey Things To Do In Istanbul Turkey Documentary Film In Urdu Hindi
Turkey is a country located in Europe and Asia. Turkey Capital City is Ankara and the largest city is Istanbul. This documentary is about Turkey Travel & Tourism And Historic places to visit i
It’s one of the best cities we’ve been to thus far. Home to scrumptious food, breathtaking architecture, and some of the warmest, most genuinely hospitable people we’ve ever met on our travels, it’s a city we could visit again and again. In fact, we could even see ourselves living there. We liked it that much.
Which is why it breaks my heart to hear about all the recent terrorist attacks. Unless I’ve lost count, Istanbul and Ankara together have experienced four since October of 2015. One is too many. Four is just devastating. We’re only human, so I can understand if these bombings have made you apprehensive about visiting Turkey. I would be if I were in your shoes. But having already been there, I know in my heart that there’s nothing to fear about Istanbul. If you’re one of those travelers who’s sitting on the fence about visiting Turkey, then I hope this travel guide helps sway you in the right direction. What is now called Asian Istanbul was probably inhabited by people as early as 3000 BC. Eventually, in the 7th century, Greek colonists led by King Byzas established the colony of Byzantium, the Greek name for a city on the Bosphorus. Byzas chose the spot after consulting an oracle of Delphi who told him to settle across from the land of the blind ones. CITY TOURS in ISTANBUL
The first human settlement in Istanbul, the Fikirtepe mound on the Anatolian side, is from the Copper Age period, with artifacts dating from 55003500 BC.[10] A port settlement dating back to the Phoenicians has been discovered in nearby Kadıköy (Chalcedon). Cape Moda in Chalcedon was the first location which the Greek settlers of Megara chose to colonize in 685 BC, prior to colonizing Byzantion on the European side of the Bosphorus under the command of King Byzas in 667 BC. Byzantion was established on the site of an ancient port settlement named Lygos, founded by Thracian tribes between the 13th and 11th centuries BC, along with the neighbouring Semistra,[11] of which Plinius had mentioned in his historical accounts. Only a few walls and substructures belonging to Lygos have survived to date, near the Seraglio Point (Turkish: Sarayburnu), where the famous Topkapı Palace now stands. During the period of Byzantion, the Acropolis used to stand where the Topkapı Palace stands today.

Istanbul, Turkish İstanbul, formerly Constantinople, ancient Byzantium, largest city and seaport of Turkey. It was the capital of both the Byzantine Empire and the Ottoman Empire.
The old walled city of Istanbul stands on a triangular peninsula between Europe and Asia. Sometimes as a bridge, sometimes as a barrier, Istanbul for more than 2,500 years has stood between conflicting surges of religion, culture, and imperial power. For most of those years it was one of the most coveted cities in the world.
The name Byzantium may derive from that of Byzas, who, according to legend, was leader of the Greeks from the city of Megara who captured the peninsula from pastoral Thracian tribes and built the city about 657 BCE. In 196 CE, having razed the town for opposing him in a civil war, the Roman emperor Septimius Severus rebuilt it, naming it Augusta Antonina in honour of his son. In 330 CE, when Constantine the Great dedicated the city as his capital, he called it New Rome.

Seraglio Piont/Sarayburnu:
Sarayburnu is a promontory separating the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey. The area is where the renowned Topkapı Palace and Gülhane Park stand. Sarayburnu is included in the historic areas of Istanbul, added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985
The first settlement on the Sarayburnu goes back to Neolithic, c. 6600 BC. The settlement lasted for almost a millennium before being inundated by the rising level of the sea; however, it might have been moved further inland The artifacts from this settlement recovered during excavations display some of the distinct features of other artifacts found in other excavations in northwestern Turkey.
Another settlement on the Sarayburnu, named Lygos (Greek: Λυγός), was founded by Thracian tribes between the 13th and 11th centuries BC, along with the neighbouring Semistra,[5] which Pliny the Elder had mentioned in his historical accounts. Only a few walls and substructures belonging to Lygos have survived to date, near the location where the famous Topkapı Palace now stands. During the period of Byzantium, the Acropolis used to stand where the Topkapı Palace stands today.
In 667 BC ancient Greek settlers from Megara (near Athens) under the command of King Byzas established Byzantium at the Sarayburnu. Earlier, in 685 BC, the Megarans had established Chalcedon (present-day Kadıköy) on the Anatolian shore, across the Bosporus. Actually the oldest settlements in present-day Istanbul are found on the Anatolian side; such as the Fikirtepe mound which dates from the Chalcolithic period (Copper Age), with artifacts dating from 5500-3500 BC. In nearby Kadıköy (ancient Chalcedon), a large port settlement dating from the Phoenicians (which predates the Megaran settlement) has been discovered.
In antiquity there were two natural harbours in the area close to Sarayburnu where the present-day Sirkeci and Eminönü quarters stand (the harbours of Prosphorion and Neorion, which scooped into the coastline of the Golden Horn.) Because of this formation, the point of Sarayburnu was more conspicuous than it is today. In later periods the area was the convergence point for the Sea Walls of the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara. In the Byzantine period, the area was known in Greek as Hagios Demetrios.
During the railway construction of the late Ottoman period, in 1871, the city walls of the Sarayburnu area were partially demolished, but they are still intact in some areas - especially close to the Topkapı Palace which was built in the 15th century for the Ottoman Sultans. The notable Gülhane Park is located right next to the palace.Wikipedia

In the 6th century BC Persians ruled the city and than Alexander the Great took it over after 4th century BC, which was a peaceful period until the 2nd century BC.
In 193 AD Roman emperor Septimus Severus conquered the city and it remained under the Roman rule until 4th century AD, when emperor Constantine the Great made Byzantium the capital of entire Roman Empire and gave it his name: Constantinople, and Eastern Roman Empire was called Byzantine Empire after 5th century. The city was built on seven hills, like Rome.
Early Byzantine emperors filled their city with the treasures of the ancient world, especially between 4th and 6th centuries with a population exceeded half a million. In 532 during the reign of Justinian I, riots destroyed the city. But it was rebuilt and outstanding structures such as Hagia Sophia stand as monuments to the golden age of Byzantines.
Istanbul's latter history is full intrigues and sieges, it was besieged by the Arabs in the 7th and 8th centuries and by the Barbarians in the 9th and 10th, but ruled by the Fourth Crusade between 1204-1261 who destroyed and sacked all the wealth. After this, Constantinople did not regain its former richness nor strength.
Ottoman Turks lead by Sultan Mehmet II conquered Constantinople in 1453. Renamed Islambol, the city became the capital of the Ottoman Empire. Between 15th and 16th centuries, sultans built many mosques and public buildings, topping the population again around half million by the mid 1500's, Istanbul was a major cultural, political, and commercial center. The name Istanbul was derived from a combination of Islambol (city of Islam in Turkish) and eis tin Polin (to the City in Greek) throughout the centuries.
Ottoman rule lasted until World War I when Istanbul was occupied by the allied troops. After years of struggle led by Ataturk against the occupying forces, the Republic of Turkey was born in 1923 and the capital was moved to Ankara province. But Istanbul has continued to expand dramatically; today its population is over 13 million and still increases constantly. It continues to be the commercial and cultural center of Turkey.
Hope to see you soon in Istanbul.
istanbu Byzantion, Augusta Antonina, Nova Roma, Konstantinopolis, Kostantiniyye, İslambol
İstanbul'a çağlar boyunca değişik adlar verilmiştir.
As, Ön-Türkçede uzay, Tanrı beldesi gibi anlamlara gelmekteydi. As kökünden As/qan (Tanrı beldesinde asılı) doğup zamanla Astan olmuş ve Hitit diline İstan olarak geçmiştir.
330 yılında Roma İmparatoru I. Konstantin tarafından kent Roma İmparatorluğu'nun başkenti ilan edilince, kente Latince Yeni Roma anlamına gelen Nova Roma (Yunanca: Νέα Ρώμη, Nea Roma) adını koydu ve bu adı teşvik etmeye çalıştıysa da bu ad hiç benimsenmedi.[28]
Konstantinopolis[değiştir | kaynağı değiştir]
Ancak 337 yılında İmparator I. Konstantin'in ölümüyle kentin adı, onun şerefine Konstantin’in kenti anlamına gelen Konstantinopolis'e (Yunanca: Κωνσταντινούπολις, Kōnstantinoúpolis, Latinceleştirilmiş:Constantinopolis) çevrildi.

TIMPUL.MD VIDEO: Istanbul -Puntea dintre cele două continente

Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi - Topkapi was the first Ottoman palace to be built (1466-1478) in the newly conquered capital of the Empire by Mehmet II. Located on the spot where the foundations of the city were first laid in ancient times by Megarian Chief Byzas in the 7th century BC, the palace boasts one of the most beautiful views of Istanbul, incorporating the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn, the two shores and the sea of Marmara. Unlike the European palaces, Topkapi is not a single monumental structure but a more organic complex made up of various kiosks, gardens and areas spread over the tip of the historical peninsula at the entry of the Golden Horn. Topkapi Palace served as the residence of Ottoman sultans for about 400 years, until Abdulmecid built the Dolmabahce Palace. In its hey-days, there were between 8-10 thousand people living in the palace, mostly being the Janissaries.
It was turned into a museum in 1924 and has become one of the most attractive palace-museums in the world. The most attractive exhibition halls of the palace are: treasury, Islamic holly relics, costumes of the sultans, divan, harem, kitchens, Chinese porcelains and several kiosks such as the Baghdad, Revan, Sofa and Mecidiye. There are appealing eating and resting facilities for visitors on the palace grounds with a great view.
Topkapi Palace (Ottoman Turkish: طوپقپو سرايى) is a palace in Istanbul's Sarayburnu, which was used as the administrative center of the state during 400 years of the 600-year history of the Ottoman Empire. [1] Once upon a time, around 4,000 people lived. [2]
Topkapi Palace was built by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1478. It was the administrative center of the state and the official residence of the Ottoman sultans for nearly 380 years until Abdulmecit built the Dolmabahce Palace. The palace, which was located on an area of approximately 700,000 m 2 during its foundation years, has an area of 80,000 m 2. [3]
Topkapı Palace was evacuated when the people of the palace started to live in Dolmabahçe Palace, Yıldız Palace and other palaces. After being abandoned by the sultans, the Topkapi Palace, where many officials lived, never lost its importance. The palace was repaired from time to time. During the month of Ramadan, a special attention was paid to the maintenance of the Holy Relics Department, which was visited by the sultan and his family each year. [3]
Fatih Sultan Mehmed started the construction of Topkapi Palace in 1465.
The opening of the Topkapı Palace for the first time, like a museum, coincided with the reign of Abdulmecid. The British ambassador of that period was shown the belongings of the Topkapı Palace Treasury. After that, it becomes a tradition to show the antiquities in Topkapı Palace Treasure to the foreigners and in the time of Abdulaziz, glass windows were made in empirical style and the antiquities in the treasury started to be shown to the foreigners. II. When Abdülhamid was dethroned, the Topkapı Palace was planned to be opened to public visits on Sundays and Tuesdays, but this could not be realized.

Istanbul Bosphorus Bike Tour
Ancak Zeus, Hermes'i yollayıp Argos'u öldürtür.
Eski Türk kaynaklarında ise İstanbul Boğazı'nın Halîc-i bahr-i rûm (Marmara Denizi Boğazı) , Halîc-i bahr-i siyâh (Karadeniz Boğazı), Halîc-i konstantiniyye (Konstantiniye Boğazı), Merecü'l bahreyn / Mecma'ül bahreyn (İki denizin birleştiği yer) ve İslâmbol Boğazı gibi adlarla anıldığı görülmektedir.[18]
