CANTERBURY, KENT - what to see
Canterbury in Kent is a truly gorgeous location I would highly recommend to everyone to visit. Not only it is packed with history but most of the historical sites can be viewed and admired in the city centre after paying a very small fee compared to the high fees you would have to pay in similar locations around the world that take you to cleaners.
On the way to the Cathedral from the train station (some one hour away from London thus making it a great day trip) you can visit the Tower, the gardens, the Freemason museum and even the very old Eastbridge hospital which was more like a location for pilgrims to rest and not have 'surgeries'!!! And all these are located on the high street!!!
Add to this the gorgeous architecture of the recent hundreds of years and then you learn why this place must be visited at least once in your life time.
I sincerely hope all this information was of some help to you.

Thank you for bearing with me whilst learning how to make my very first videos and set up everything: I am my worst enemy and criticised my every single step for not making it better in a 'pure perfection' state. Thank you everyone for taking the time to check this.

Canterbury - Tour to Cathedral of Canterbury
Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, Kent, is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. It forms part of a World Heritage Site. It is the cathedral of the Archbishop of Canterbury, currently Justin Welby, leader of the Church of England and symbolic leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion; the archbishop, being suitably occupied with national and international matters, delegates the most of his functions as diocesan bishop to the Bishop suffragan of Dover, currently Trevor Willmott. Its formal title is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Christ at Canterbury.
Founded in 597, the cathedral was completely rebuilt from 1070 to 1077. The east end was greatly enlarged at the beginning of the twelfth century, and largely rebuilt in the Gothic style following a fire in 1174, with significant eastward extensions to accommodate the flow of pilgrims visiting the shrine of Thomas Becket, the archbishop who was murdered in the cathedral in 1170. The Norman nave and transepts survived until the late fourteenth century, when they were demolished to make way for the present structures.

City in England
Canterbury, a cathedral city in southeast England, was a pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages. Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans, encircle its medieval center with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses.
Canterbury Cathedral, founded 597 A.D., is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, incorporating Gothic and Romanesque elements in its stone carvings and stained-glass windows.

???????? Canterbury, England - UK TRAVEL VIDEO
Canterbury is a popular tourist destination: consistently one of the most-visited cities in the United Kingdom, the city's economy is heavily reliant upon tourism. The city has been occupied since Paleolithic times and served as the capital of the Celtic Cantiaci and Jute Kingdom of Kent. Many historical structures fill the area, including a city wall founded in Roman times and rebuilt in the 14th century, the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and a Norman castle, and the oldest extant school in the world, the King's School. Modern additions include the Marlowe Theatre and the St Lawrence Ground, home of the Kent County Cricket Club. There is also a substantial student population, brought about by the presence of the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University for the Creative Arts, and the Girne American University Canterbury campus. Canterbury remains, however, a small city in terms of geographical size and population, when compared with other British cities.

WALKING CANTERBURY - Canterbury, England
We took the train from London’s Victoria Station and spent the day in Canterbury. This is definitely a tourist attraction as you see from the crowds. It was great fun.

Passing down from Roman days with various names, Canterbury eventually became known in Old English as Cantwareburh (stronghold of the Kentish men), which developed into the present name.
Canterbury, United Kingdom
Canterbury - the garden of England and the jewel of Kent.
We were supposed to visit Canterbury and ended up living here for two years
You may ask why?
Just because it's a small town, with a huge High Street and a number of 298 of restaurants, bars, and hotels listed on TripAdvisor( a tourists paradise)
Or maybe because it has one of the biggest Cathedrals in Europe( the center of English Church)
Perhaps, because of its FOUR Universityes and some other Colleges.
Or because it has amazing parks and a massive historical center.
I let you decide!

The Canterbury Tour 1920 Part 1
Shot from the back of a truck, this film takes the viewer from one end of 1920 Canterbury to the other: a procession of shops along the old medieval streets of the town as horse drawn carts mix with cyclists and even a handful of motorcars.
