Ask An Expert: SWFL Florida History, History of Cape Coral
Wendy Schroder, President of the Cape Coral Historical Museum, joined Tim Hart to discuss the history of Fort Myers. This is an ongoing series on the history of SWFL that I am bringing to you guys.
This one interview was a little easier for me, since I was born and raised in Cape Coral. Actually, my kids are 4th generations Floridians with Grandaddy’s parents homesteading in Cape Coral in the early 1900’s.
Wendy shared several stories of the original settlers of Cape Coral and the timeline to now. We talk about the Rose Gardens, Wild Bill Belvin, The Rosen Brothers and many other interesting facts about Cape Coral.
Check this out and let me know what you think. Feel free to share this video with anyone that may be interested in the history of Cape Coral.

History of Cape Coral First United Methodist Church
Almost 50 years ago a small group of Methodist Christians began worshipping at the Yacht Club on Coronado Parkway. That brave band of pioneers felt called by God to start a new outpost to carry out Jesus' Great Commission of making disciples and transforming Cape Coral and the world beyond. You might say they were touching tomorrow... yesterday.
