How To Catch Destin Red Snapper - Charterboat Pescador III - Captain Mike Whitley
How To Catch Destin Red Snapper on The Charterboat Pescador III With Captain Mike Whitley.
Many experienced fishermen whether for sports only or for commercial purposes only or for both, will agree that fishing is by far one of the most enjoyable and therapeutic favorite pass-times around the oceans or large water bodies. In fact, those who take up fishing as a hobby, usually find themselves even developing unique levels of patience and discipline which are very important virtues needed for success in modern-day life. Of particular importance, is fishing the Destin red snapper, which is a very beautiful and quite active fish that elicits lots of fun while trying to catch it. It is true that over the years, many who've discovered the Destin red snapper, derive more pleasure in not only hunting for them in the deep waters, but also in seeing them move about freely in large shoals and in their natural habitat.
The Destin red snapper belongs to the order of the Perciformes and the family of the Lutjanidae. They usually travel in large shoals or schools of fish and are mostly abundant along the southern coastlines of the United States as well as along the Atlantic ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Some fishermen along the tropical coastlines have also spotted some Destin red snapper in their waters. The red snapper is mainly a canrnivorous fish that feeds on smaller species of fish as well as crustaceans such as shrimp. Having all these in mind, one can therefore chart out a better plan to fish them with great success and less wastage of time.
Destin red snapper are generally small fish in size even if they grow to maturity, and are typically bottom fish that like rocky bottoms and reefs of the seas or oceans that they live in. Once one has found these locations, they should look for a good rig for catching the fish. A good rig for catching the red snapper is generally a bottom rig usually attached to a heavy Lead weight and a swivel. A good length of leader is required for the fishing rod because the red snapper is known to have very good eyesight, and in places where there is a lot of fishing pressure, they learn pretty quick not to fall for any thing that looks like a bait as they can see the terminal tackle.
So a good leader between 15 to 30 feet tightly tied to a hook, is usually used to increase the chances of catching the Red snapper with relative ease. One can use baits like squids, crustaceans, pilchards, pin-fish or Goggle eyes, but it is true that pilchards and pin-fish are a great favorite food for the red snappers especially in the deep waters. When you feel that they have gotten the bait, it is wise to give them about 20 to 30 seconds before actually pulling them up, because many are times when red snappers will get the bait and just hold it in their mouths before they actually fall for the trap.
You can learn how to catch destin red snapper aboard the Charter Boat Pescador III, and you just need to call Captain Mike Whitley today at 1-850-826-0869.
