New Beach Access in South Melbourne
I'm always looking to find less access to less congested beaches. FOUND ONE! Surf fishing in Melbourne is pretty good and a closely held secret among the regular surf fishermen. Every new spot is a new opportunity. We'll see what it brings this season.

????SHE FELL OUT OF THE HAMMOCK!???? | GEOCACHING IN THE FLORIDA KEYS | SEVEN MILE BRIDGE
Hunter fell out of the hammock!
We just went exploring in the Florida Keys, today. Dad and the kids went geocaching, we drove to the Seven Mile Bridge and walked on the old Seven Mile Bridge, drove a bit further down to Big Pine Key to look for Key Deer, and did a hike around an old rock quarry!
Seven Mile Bridge:
The Seven Mile Bridge is a famous bridge in the Florida Keys, in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It connects Knight's Key (part of the city of Marathon, Florida) in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Among the longest bridges in existence when it was built, it is one of the bridges on Overseas Highway in the Keys, part of the 2,369 mile long US 1.
There are two bridges in this location. The modern bridge is open to vehicular traffic, whereas the older bridge is only open to pedestrians and cyclists. The older bridge, originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe as part of the Florida East Coast Railway's Key West Extension, also known as the Overseas Railroad.
Bahia Honda State Park
Bahia Honda (meaning deep bay, in Spanish, locally pronounced: BAY-ah HON-da [ˈbeɪə 'hɒndə], also pronounced (Spanish): Bah-EE-ah OWN-dah [ba'ia 'onda]) is an island in the lower Florida Keys.
U.S. 1 (the Overseas Highway) crosses the key at approximately mile markers 36-38.5, between Ohio Key and Spanish Harbor Key 12 miles (19 km) west of Marathon, close to the west end of the Seven Mile Bridge.
The island is virtually uninhabited, being home to the 524-acre (2.12 km2) Bahia Honda State Park. Founded in 1961, the park occupies most of the island. The channel at the island's west end is one of the deepest natural channels in the Florida Keys.
Key Deer
The Key deer (Odocoileus virginianus clavium) is an endangered deer that lives only in the Florida Keys. It is a subspecies of the white-tailed deer (O. virginianus). It is the smallest North American deer.
This deer can be recognized by its characteristic size, smaller than all other white-tailed deer. Adult males (known as bucks) usually weigh 25–34 kg (55–75 lb) and stand about 76 cm (30 in) tall at the shoulder. Adult females (does) usually weigh between 20 and 29 kg (44 and 64 lb) and have an average height of 66 cm (26 in) at the shoulders. The deer is a reddish-brown to grey-brown in color. Antlers are grown by males and shed between February and March and regrown by June. When the antlers are growing, they have a white velvet coating. The species otherwise generally resembles other white-tailed deer in appearance.
