Indian Harbour Beach is part of the Titusville-Palm Bay metropolitan area, located in Brevard County overlooking the Indian River and the Atlantic Coastline. Also available in the park is a year-round heated swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, two playgrounds, horseshoes, beach volleyball and picnic facilities. Ocean swimming, fishing, boating and golf are located nearby. Indian Harbour Beach is just a short thirty-minute drive to Titusville and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, the Astronaut Hall of Fame and the Canaveral National Seashore.

The Space Coast of Florida, which lies on the Central East Coast near the Kennedy Space Center, has a semi-tropical climate that becomes quite warm and humid during the months of June, July and August. Frequent showers and thunderstorms are generally local and short in duration. Large tropical storms can bring high winds and inundating rainfalls, but due to excellent weather forecasting, warning time can be up to a week. The coastal areas also offer daily breezes of adequate velocity that helps moderate temperatures. September and October remain warm, with September usually being the wettest month. November to February is relatively dry and sunny with pleasant daytime temperatures and cool nights. In the months of March to May the sun begins to climb higher in the sky again with warmer days and moderate rainfall.

PALM BAY VETERANS STICKMARSH BASS CHALLENGE
On Saturday September 6, 2014 the city of Palm Bay joined with the Melbourne Regional Chamber of east Central Florida, Bass Pro Shops of Palm Bay and many other sponsors for the 1st Annual Veteran's Stick Marsh Bass Challenge in Palm Bay. Palm Bay Mayor William Capote challenged all local elected leaders to compete and help support the veterans. Nearly 30 veterans were paired with a boat captain who donated his/her time, and an elected leader to see who could catch the biggest bass. This video provides a brief summary of the day's activities.

After mining phosphate in the 1960s, the American Cyanamid Company donated the majority of this property to the District in 1969. In 1970, a dike and a control structure were built to create the 700-acre reservoir, which offers some flood protection along the Alafia River. In 1972, under agreement with the District, Hillsborough County developed this site as one of its largest regional parks. Originally known as the Pleasant Grove Reservoir Park, the property was renamed the Edward Medard Park and Reservoir in 1977 to honor a District Governing Board member.
Edward Medard Park is a popular recreation area, hosting 500,000 visitors annually, with the 700-acre reservoir being the main attraction. A boardwalk fishing pier leads to an observation tower across the reservoir.
