Cemal Reşit Rey (25 October 1904 – 7 October 1985) was a Turkish composer, pianist, script writer and conductor. He was well known for a string of successful and popular Turkish-language operettas for which his brother Ekrem Reşit Rey (1900–1959) wrote the librettos.
He was born on 25 October 1904 in Jerusalem and died on 7 October 1985 in Istanbul. He was one of the five pioneers of Western classical music in Turkey known as 'The Turkish Five' in the first half of the 20th century. Notable students include Yüksel Koptagel, a Turkish composer and pianist.

Three countries' musics on the same stage.
Sahdeniz reminds Anatolian lands' elder heritage between the cultures of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Greece.
The well-known singers Fargana Qasimova, Mehtap Demir and Sofia Papazoglou is prepared a repertory for Sahdeniz with mutual songs of the three different countries, but similar culture of music.
Selcuk Murat Kizilates is the conductor and Baglama player, Zaki Valiyev is the Azerbaijani Tar player, Nikos Tatasapoulos is the Greek Oud player and world-wide known musician Goksel Baktagir is the Turkish Kanun player of Sahdeniz Orchestra.
The project gets together the three different cultures with mutual harmonies.

Gitar ve Orkestra için Konçerto (1978)
Katibim Çeşitlemeleri'nin gitar ve orkestra için düzenlenmiş şeklidir. Eser Alirio Diaz'a ithaf edilmiştir. İlk seslendirilişi 22 Mart 1978'de gitarist Alirio Diaz ile bestecinin yönetiminde İstanbul Devlet Opera Orkestrası tarafından yapılmıştır.
Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra (1978)
This is an arrangement of the work Variations on an Old Istanbul Song, for guitar and orchestra. The work is dedicated to Alirio Diaz. Its first performance was on 22 March 1978 by guitarist Alirio Diaz with the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer.

Klasik müzik tarihinin en önemli keman virtüözlerinden Paganini’nin yaratıcı eserlerinden ilham alan ve izleyicilere eğlenceli dinamizmi hiç düşmeyen, çağdaş bir klasik müzik dinletisi sunan Pagagnini, Cemal Reşit Rey Konser Salonu’nda gerçekleşti.
Thomas Potiron, Fernando Clemente, Gueorgui Fournadjiev ve Isaac M. Pulet’den oluşan virtüöz dörtlü, Paganini’nin sofistike kompozisyonlarını, cüretkar kişiliğini ve tartışılmaz yeteneğini sahneye taşıdı.
Sanatçılar gösteri boyunca Paganini’nin bestelerinin yanı sıra Mozart, Pachelbel, Chopin, Boccherini, Falla ve Sarasate’nin eserleri ile rock ve folk melodilerin de yer aldığı renkli bir repertuvar seslendirdiler.
Çello ve kemanların bir anda gitara, mandoline ve vurmalı çalgılara dönüştüğü sürprizlerle dolu Pagagnini, mizahla müziği buluştururken izleyenleri de gösterinin bir parçası haline getirdiler.
Dünyanın farklı ülkelerinde gerçekleştirdikleri temsillerde 7’den 70’e herkesin beğenisini toplayan Pagagnini, farklı müzikal tatları bir araya getirirken dinleyicilere de duygu potpurisi yaşattı.
