Clara Stones - Lost in Dubrovnik
Coral workshop and gallery & Coral Concept Store:
Clara Stones is a jewellery brand which got off the ground in 2007 owing to a young Croatian-Italian couple Anja Mučić and Vittorio Ceccarini whose passion started their endless pursuit to find the most precious objects and materials from all over the world.
Combining old and new, modern and traditional, their unique pieces made of favourite, antique jade, carved coral, sapphires, tourmalines are designed to make a statement.
In their Clara Stones flagship store in Dubrovnik and one of the last red coral workshops in Croatia people are invited to see the meticulous process in which red coral is transformed from raw material branches into finished jewellery and learn why natural red coral has been considered as one of the most precious materials in the world since ancient times.

Canalgrande, Adriatic Baroque Orchestra.
The Grand Canal is the main canal in Venice and marks the way toward the Adriatic Sea: the sea of the Piceni, the Romans, the Venetians. Venice, Ravenna, Ancona, Split, Bari, the ancient Ragusa (now Dubrovnik) are cities rich of history and culture, with cathedrals built with white stone by the sea. In old navigation charts, the Adriatic Sea was often indicated as the natural continuation of the Grand Canal, as if that water held in itself the sense of a big community, made of welcoming people, who grew up eating the same food, trained all along to build beautiful things with simple gestures. Dedicating a new orchestra to the ancient name of our sea, is like preparing the launch of a new boat in a dockyard -- the crew being the musicians who want to join it, with their long stories to tell.

World's Oldest Pieces Of jewellery
World's Oldest Pieces Of jewellery
Who doesn’t like jewelry? Today, one can find all forms of jewelry almost everywhere. It’s the vital part of literally every culture in the world. From diamonds, bling-blings, metals to wood and leather and so much more the possibilities and combinations are virtually limitless.
1. The Neanderthal Jewelry from Croatia
In late 2013 a professor who’s incharge of the Neanderthal Collection deriving from the site of Krapina, Croatia, took a fresh look at some eagle talons found among the items. She noticed numerous cut marks on the talons and realized that they must have been used as jewelry.
2. Nassarius Snail Beads
In the site of Skhul cave in Israel, researchers have found beads made from shells of a sea snail called Nassarius. These beads are the first known jewelry made by modern humans dated as early as 110,000 years.
3.Ostrich Shell Beads of Kenya
For a long time, it was thought that the oldest personal ornament ever was found in the site of Enkapune Ya Muto, translated as the Twilight Cave, in Kenya. It is believed that they aThe beads were made from drilled ostrich egg shells tied on a string around the neck. 40,000 years old.
4. Denisovan Stone Bracelet
In 2008 on an excavation site in the Altai region of Siberia, a stone bracelet was found among some of the human remains. When the layer of soil and the material were dated, it was found that the remains in that particular layer were somewhere around 40,000 years old.
The artisan who made the items was then thought to have been a modern human, but that was quickly refuted, and was confirmed that the person who made this piece was indeed belonging to the Denisovan people.
5. The Gold Riches of Varna
One of the first cultures to have developed goldsmithing was the Varna civilization. It was developed in Eastern Bulgaria, near the Black Sea, in an area rich with lakes. The remains we have today are from a sight of the necropolis in which Varnians interred their dead, and where graves were dated as early as 4560-4450 BC.
6. Glasswork of Egypt
Perhaps the most famous jewelry belongs to the Cradle of Civilization Egypt. The tradition that was carried on and on by the goldsmiths of Egypt was responsible for the Tutankhamun’s burial mask, the bust of Nefertiti, the golden capstone of the Pyramid of Giza, and many other notable wonders. But none of that would have been possible if it weren’t for the first steps which were made in crafting necklaces and head dressings some 5,000 years ago.
7. Mesopotamian jewelry
Most of the Mesopotamian jewelry was made on thin sheets of metal, set with variously colored gems. The oldest pieces we saved are from the Royal Cemetery of Ur, dating to as early as 2900 BC. The meticulous record keeping of the Mari gives us an insight into some piecesthat have not been recovered, for instance, one record speaks of a necklace of rounded lapis lazuli beads, with 28 of them rounded, and 29 fluted.
While the jewelry trends and materials may change, one is certain – we will always like to decorate and express whit jewellery.

10 Things to do in Matera, Italy Travel Guide Food Video Transcript:
One destination that’s been at the very top of our travel bucket list for a while now is Matera, and on this trip to Italy, we were determined to make it happen!
Nicknamed “the stone city”, Matera has been quite literally dug out of the rock, and it’s a sight you won’t soon forget. Set on the slope of a rocky ravine, the landscape is dominated by cave dwellings, zigzagging staircases, and early churches that hold some incredible frescoes once you set foot inside.
During our visit, we stayed in the “sassi”, which is the ancient town, and in our opinion, the best way to soak in the vibe of this place.
Now in this video, we’re going to take you on a tour of the city and show you some of the things you can see, do and eat when you visit Matera.
Matera is well-known for its rupestrian churches, carved into the rock and covered in frescoes.
We first stopped by Chiesa Rupestre di San Pietro Barisano, which is the largest rock church in the city of Matera.
We wanted to show you the frescoes, so we continued to Convento di Sant’Agostino, a church and convent dating back to the late 16th Century. We started walking uphill via a series of staircases and winding streets, until we found ourselves in front of Matera Cathedral.
The rocky landscape we noticed is called Murgia (MoorJa) National Park and it’s an archaeological site with cliffs, gorges & caves.
Let’s take a quick break to introduce you to Materan cuisine. Like most of the establishments in Matera, this restaurant was set in a cave and we ate pasta, wine & dessert?
We spent a lot of time visiting cave churches, but for a look at how locals lived in these troglodyte dwellings, we visited Casa Grotta.
The Sassi District is a made up of a network of dwellings carved into the steep slopes of the valley walking into the Casa Grotta.
We visited Palombaro Lungo, a massive water cistern that sits directly under Matera’s main square.
After visiting Palombaro Lungo, we also found ourselves in front of the ruins of Chiesa del Santo Spirito. The church sits beneath Piazza Vittorio Veneto where you can make out frescoes on the walls.
Continuing our quest for Materan cuisine, we ended up at Ristorante Nadi - another cave restaurant that we stumbled upon by chance to see if we could get through a 4 course meal.
Our final recommendation for Matera would be to explore the city at night. Matera looks magical between sunset and blue hour and it was a pleasure to wander around with camera in hand.
And that’s a wrap for Matera! We hope you guys enjoyed discovering Italy’s famed Stone City, and we’ll see you soon with more videos from Italy.
This is part of our Travel in Italy video series showcasing Italian food, Italian culture and Italian cuisine.

Kasar Restaurant
Genuine Dalmatian sensation:
This gorgeous and friendly restaurant, located literally on the seashore at the end of the beautiful Zaton bay, is raising the dining quality of this small seaside village.
Once you visit it you will surely come back for more than a few reasons, the main being the most delicious Dalmatian food ever, the heartwarming welcome from the restaurant staff – most often the owners themselves, and the magnificent typically Dalmatian ambience with a beautiful view. Although the dishes are simply presented with hardly any contemporary touch, their food is straightforward and exquisitely tasty. Their biggest secret is fresh organic ingredients and lots of love for what they do.
