Amsterdam In Your Pocket - CoBrA museum
Fantasy animals and weird creatures are just some of the subjects that CoBrA (an acronym for Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam) artists used in their work. They drew their inspiration from a wide variety of sources including mythology, children's drawings, folklore, ancient history, primitive art, Asian calligraphy and art by the mentally disabled. Although the movement was short lived (1948 - 1951) its prolific adherents left enough work in their wake to fill this beautifully designed museum. Painters, sculptors, poets, photographers and filmmakers were all drawn to CoBrA's goals. They rebelled against the orthodoxy of the art academies and attempted to create art without borders. The museum features works by Holland's most famous CoBrA masters -- Constant, Corneille and Karel Appel.
Admission: adults €9.50, children €5, children under 5 free.

The history of the hidden church begins in 1661. It was built during the Reformation, when Catholics were forbidden to hold public services.

Nowadays it is one of the oldest museums in Amsterdam.

The Cobra Museum
In 1948 Cobra caused a revolution in the Netherlands; a breakthrough in modern art that reverberates in art to this day. The Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen was founded in 1995 and ensures that the legacy of the Cobra movement remains in the public eye and keeps the philosophy of the artists alive. That philosophy is much broader than the artwork and the poetry that spawned it. The Cobra artists had a working attitude that is still relevant today. They sought a connection between the people and art. By breaking down the walls between the different artistic disciplines, they worked in a multidisciplinary way. They spoke about the formation of society. They worked together as a group, inspired each other and had a greater impact together.

Netherlands: Amsterdam - The Museum Willet-Holthuysen
The Museum Willet-Holthuysen is a museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on the Herengracht canal. It is the only fully furnished canal side patrician house in Amsterdam that is open to the public.
The house was built for Jacob Hop, mayor of Amsterdam, around 1685. He was not the last mayor to own the house. In 1739 the outside was redesigned to look as it does today, in the highly fashionable Louis XIV style.
In 1855 the house was owned by coal magnate Peter Holthysen (1788-1858), when he died it was inherited by his daughter Louisa (1824-1895) and her husband, art expert Abraham Willet.
This last private owner, Mrs. Willet-Holthuysen, bequeathed the entire house to the city of Amsterdam on condition it became a museum in 1895. It has been a museum ever since.
Some rooms are unchanged, while others such as the kitchen and the conservatory are renovated in 18th century style.
Three floors are open to the public, the basement floor (souterrain), with the kitchen and garden (restored in 1972), the first floor (bel-etage with long hallway), and the top floor, with one bedroom on display and rooms for exhibitions. The museum has a large collection of silverware, plate, and books from the Dutch Golden Age and a substantial collection of art.

You will see all things Shelby American related, and a lot of cars that came out of the race shop located in Venice California put together by Carroll Shelby. That is where I worked from 1963 through 1966. Some of the cars include the Dragonsnake which I drove to many NHRA national records during the 1964 season. There are cars driven by the most famous names in auto racing such as Dan Gurney, Bob Bondurant, Ken Miles, Dave McDonald, and his very first driver Bill Krause.
