Flying from Buenos Aires to Córdoba + Relaxing in the Mountains | Sierras of Córdoba, Argentina
Come join us for another travel vlog in Argentina flying from Buenos Aires to Córdoba where we end up setting in the Sierras of Cordoba to relax for a few days. After spending several action packed days in Buenos Aires it was time to continue our Argentina adventure in the Sierras of Cordoba. We ended up catching an early morning flight from Buenos Aires to Cordoba and then taking a scenic drive through the countryside and mountains before we arrived at our cabin.
We give you a full cabin tour including some guest appearances from friendly pets and other wild animals. We'll be using this as a base to explore La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano in future episodes. We hope you'll join us for more adventures in Cordoba coming very soon!

Flying from Buenos Aires to Córdoba + Relaxing in the Mountains | Sierras of Córdoba, Argentina:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

PASEO POR EL CENTRO DE CÓRDOBA
Fundada el 6 de Julio de 1573, la ciudad de Córdoba aún conserva gran parte de su carácter hispánico, un distintivo que la hace única entre las capitales argentinas. Sus edificios, iglesias, museos y monumentos del centro histórico han sido restaurados e iluminados por el gobierno provincial, para que brillen en todo su esplendor y puedan ser visitados por turistas del país y del mundo entero.
Alta Gracia, Cordoba. Argentina
En la vasta región que hoy se conoce como la provincia de Córdoba hace siglos eran tierras recientemente conquistadas por los colonizadores Españoles, los cuales utilizaban bastas extensiones de tierras como grandes estancias, las cuales regalaban a algún familiar querido, en ocasiones especiales tales como casamientos, o bien se las quedaban para uso personal.
El origen de la localidad de Alta Gracia no es la excepción, y se remonta a la época de la conquista española. Por entonces, Juan Nieto recibió estas tierras que abarcaban la región y en 1588 creó allí una pequeña estancia, a la que llamó Potrero de San Ignacio de Manresa.
La propiedad pasó luego a manos de otro español, Alonso Nieto de Herrera, fue quien bautizó la zona con el nombre que hoy conocemos, en recuerdo de un santuario de Extremadura, España, dedicado al culto de la Virgen de Alta Gracia.
Sin embargo esta zona era demasiado seca como para construir una ciudad, ya que era imposible el cultivo de cualquier planta comestible. Esta situación cambió con la llegada de los jesuitas a la estancia a principios del Siglo XVII ya que construyeron canales para abastecer de agua a las tierras cultivables del lugar. Allí comenzó el desarrollo de Alta Gracia, pero tras su expulsión en 1767, la estancia quedó abandonada para pasar posteriormente a manos de diferentes dueños. El 14 de enero de 1900, Alta Gracia recibió la calificación de municipio y el 18 de junio de 1940 fue declarada ciudad.
En Alta Gracia, nos encontraremos con invaluables reliquias culturales y reales tales como las reliquias jesuitas que perduran en su geografía; el arroyo Chicamtoltina que la atraviesa; el Parque García Lorca; los museos de diversas índoles; la casa del Che Guevara; y los dos campos de golf que cautivan aficionados, que se entreveran con la cantidad de actividades para hacer en este apartado y tranquilo lugar de Córdoba.
Al ser Alta Gracia, un espectacular lugar donde dejarse invadir por la pureza del aire y la postal embriagarte del paisaje, consiguiendo la tranquilidad absoluta algunos y despertando el vértigo los aventureros, permite que este sitio sea uno de entre las preferidos en la provincia, y gracias a esto allí nos encontraremos con una excelente calidad gastronómica, como así también hotelera, haciendo de Alta Gracia el lugar perfecto para alojarse en Córdoba.

La villa fue fundada en 1889, dista sólo 19 km de la capital cordobesa y posee una población de 27.164 habitantes (Censo Provincial 2008).

Caminata desde la entrada principal (ruta 5), Ojo de Agua hacia Julio A. Roca pasando por el centro cívico.
Se pueden apreciar los sonidos de la ciudad y su movimiento. Los bares con cerveza artesanal característicos de Villa general Belgrano, las chocolaterías y la arquitectura típicamente alemana.
Ese día Miércoles de Septiembre la temperatura era ideal, estuvo cálida toda la semana aunque de noche refrescaba.
Walking in Villa General Belgrano, Córdoba Argentina. It's an european style city founded by a german community less than 100 years ago. The city is full of bars with great beer, a lot of them make its own beer, the food is great all around the city, the wheather is unique, and the place rounded by the mountain ranges, and yes... there are a lot of delicious chocolate shops.

Probando Raclette Comida Suiza + Peñon del Aguila | Viaje a La Cumbrecita, Córdoba, Argentina
Para nuestro tercer y último día en La Cumbrecita, Córdoba, fuimos a visitar Peñon del Aguila. Este es un parque temático que ofrece aventura alpina con distintas actividades: tirolesa, arborismo, rapel, arco y flecha, muro de escala, y caminatas por la reserva natural. Después de pasar la mañana haciendo un poco de trekking, regresamos al pueblo a almorzar. Esta vez fuimos al Bar Suizo a probar raclette - una comida suiza típica donde uno derrite queso en una parrilla, y luego el queso se sirve fundido con papas cocidas, salchichas, pepinillos y otros platillos. De ahí los llevamos a visitar la Casita Suiza, donde uno puede encontrar lindos souvenirs al estilo suizo/alemán, y la Cervecería Viejo Suizo, donde producen cervezas artesanales.

BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY ABOUT THE BREED:
This breed is native to the province of Cordoba, in the Mediterranean region of Argentina.
Its creator was Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, a prominent and active surgeon (1907 – 1956).
His work was based upon the methodical crossbreeding of the “Old Fighting Dog of Cordoba”, a breed of great power and strength, which was the product of crossbreeding among dog of the breeds Bulldogs and Bull Terriers.
He selected completely white dogs for breeding, not undershot, with heavy heads and long muzzle.
After a thorough and minute character study and selection, through different generations, his aim was accomplished forming diferente families always using as a start the Old Fighting Dog of Cordoba which was crossed at first with English Bull Dog, Great Dane, Pyrenean Mastiff, Bull Terrier, Boxer, Pointer, Dogue de Bordeaux and Irish Wolfhound.
In 1947 the breed was already created and its genotype and phenotype were stabilized. The same year the breed standard was presented at the Hunter’s Club in the City of Buenos Aires. Its strength, tenacity, sense of smell and bravery make it the best in the pack of dogs to hunt wild boars, peccaries, pumas and other predators of agriculture and livestock that inhabit the vast and diverse regions of Argentina. This is the traditional activity for which Antonio Nores created this breed.
In 1964 it was recognized as a breed by the FCA (Federación Cinologica Argentina) and the Sociedad Rural Argentina, which opened their studbook to initiate registry.
Just in 1973 the breed was accepted by the FCI. This was possible thanks to the great passion and unique work and effort of Dr. Agustín Nores Martínez, brother of the founder of the breed, who achieved this recognition not only because of his individual actions but also from the institutional action of the FCA and the Dogo Argentino Club “Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez”.
GERMAN FOOD IN ARGENTINA! + Town Tour of VILLA GENERAL BELGRANO, Córdoba
Greetings from Villa General Belgrano! In today's video, we take you on a tour of this German town in the province of Córdoba, plus we also try German food at Blumen.
Villa General Belgrano is a mountainside town in the Calamuchita Valley in the Province of Córdoba that was founded by Germans in 1930 and soon attracted immigrants from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria. Today, the town has a distinct Alpine architectural style with wood-frame homes, and it's also managed to maintain its German culture, which is really visible through its food! Restaurants serve up German dishes and there are also lots of micro-breweries for those looking to sample the beer. This town also hosts the biggest Oktoberfest outside of Germany!
We ate at Blumen where we tried pork cutlet with mushrooms and gravy, chucrut (sauerkraut with bacon), boiled potatoes with parsley, caramelized apples and peas. We paired this with a blond beer and a red beer from the local Berlin brewery. For dessert, we went with a classic and tried the Apfelstrudel, which is a delicious a pastry stuffed with apples, nuts, raisins.

Se accede a ella por la Ruta E-53 y luego de pasar el aeropuerto se recorren 17 km hacia el norte, o también desde la Ciudad de Córdoba, por la ruta E-57, atravesando por Villa Allende, Mendiolaza y Unquillo.
Río Ceballos está asentada sobre una ladera y converge sobre el arroyo que lleva su nombre, a través de ella cruza desde Unquillo la Avenida San Martín, que termina su recorrido a los pies del paredón del Embalse del Dique La Quebrada, sobre esta se desarrolla casi toda la actividad comercial de esta ciudad. Es también un importante destino turístico.
La Plaza federal, es una plaza relativamente nueva (construida en el año 2000), en la comuna de San Roque, que hace homenaje a las provincias de la republica argentina.
Este parque tiene la particularidad de estar situado en el centro geografico del pais, es decir en el medio exacto de nuestro pais, segun las mediciones hechas originalmente de nuestro pais.
Todas las localidades cercanas utilizan este centro geografico como referencia de medicion.
En si la plaza, si bien es pintoresca, pudo haber sido mucho mas de lo que es, mas si como se comenta, se destinaron 12 millones de pesos (pesos-dolares dado que en el 200 aun habia 1 a 1 en el cambio monetario).
La plaza es un enorme monumento de cemento, con un enorme mastil en el centro que tiene la bandera nacional. Rodea a este mastil, a cada uno de sus lados y en mastiles un poco mas péqueños, una y cada una de las banderas que corresponden a cada una de las banderas de nuestra patria, y al pie del mastil, cada uno de los escudos de las provincias. Esto es realmente digno de ver.
Al pie del mastil mayor, el mastil de la bandera argentina, hay una placa conmemorativa que indica la fecha de creacion y el homenaje a las provincias, y donde hay una urna que contiene tierra de cada una de las provincias.
Detras del monumento, hay una larga pasarela que tiene una vista unica al lago/dique san roque, con una foto increible de la costa de carlos paz. Es un lugar muy lindo para juntarse a tomar unos mates mirando al lago, o simplemente para pasar el rato.
Para visitar cerca de la comuna de san roque hay varias opciones: el dique, villa carlos paz, vialet masee y cualquier otro destino del valle de punilla como cosquin, la falda o el increible villa giardino.
Concretamente, esta plaza es un lindo lugar para visitar de paso a destinos del valle de punilla, al pasar por san roque es decir, que no es un lugar para visitar como unico, pero si como parada obligatoria al pasar por san roque.

With the police on strike, chaos is rife in the central-Argentine city of Cordoba.
One man has reportedly been killed and up to 60 people injured as looters ransacked shops and supermarkets in the country's second most populated city.
Officials claim the victim, who was shot in the chest while riding his motorcycle, had nothing to do with the looting. It seems he was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The disruption followed a walkout by police following a failure to resolve a wage dispute, Merco Press reports.
Police officers had apparently gathered inside the police station, refusing to work until their salaries were raised to 13,000 pesos, around €1,500.
Many businesses and banks remain closed for the time being. Cordoba's state governor has also ordered the temporary closure of schools and many public buildings.

Delicious Swiss Food + First Time Eating Raclette | La Cumbrecita, Cordoba, Argentina
Come join us in La Cumbrecita for delicious Swiss Food as we trying eating Raclette for the first time in Cordoba, Argentina. There are a number of Swiss restaurants in La Cumbrecita where you sample Swiss cuisine; however, we decided on Bar Suizo.
Prior to lunch we visited Peñon del Águila where we enjoyed a little train ride, hiking and a beautiful waterfall. This is also where you can go zip-lining in La Cumbrecita if you're into adventure travel.
After enjoying the beautiful trails, lush forest and mountain backdrop we worked up quite an appetite. At the Swiss bar we decided to order raclette for the first time in our lives. Basically it comes with these trays that you cook over heat in order to melt the cheese. It ended up being one of the most delicious meals we had in Lumbrecita and we couldn't recommend this place more.

Delicious Swiss Food + First Time Eating Raclette | La Cumbrecita, Cordoba, Argentina:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.
