AMAZING PRIVATE STREET FOOD TOUR OF HO CHI MINH CITY | Vietnam | Vlog 033
We head out on a 4 hour private street food tour with Ben from 'The Street Food Man'. Walking around districts 3 and 10 we sample a huge variety of food and drinks from Bahn Xeo (sizzling pancake) and Bo La Lot to sugarcane juice and rice wine before ending up in a Seafood restaurant where Lorna tries crab & clams for the first time.
At only £30 per person we were so happy with our experience, all of the food and our local guide, Ben who taught us about the food, culture, language and even the history of the city. If you're in HCMC and are a food lover then a food tour is an absolute must!

First I made my way to Cơm tấm Ba Ghiền, Absolutely amazing food, honestly. The meat was very flavorful and the meatball was a new experience! Highly recommended.
????????
Then I made my way to the Thai Binh Market, both the noodles and the bun bao was very tasty and cheap! Rest of the market is fairly small and not much to see.
????????
After that I went to the famous Banh Xeo 46A, I had pretty low expectations of this since there were a lot of tourists. I was kind of underwhelmed but it’s not BAD.
????????
And after the pancake I went to the most popular Banh Mi places in Saigon it’s called Huynh Hoa Bakery, OMG i love that place so much, totally worth the ’overprice’ for that flavor!
????????
Lastly I was recommended by my local friend from Saigon to try Bun bo, which is a noodle dish with fermented seafood paste, The dish was really tasty and the noodles were stunning.

First Time in VIETNAM - Exploring Ho Chi Minh City
We landed in bustling Ho Chi Minh City for our first time in Vietnam! We had a great time exploring Ho Chi Minh City and will be traveling Vietnam for the next 28 days. Without a real plan, we visited Ho Chi Minh Square to learn some history of Ho Chi Minh City. We also played frogger with the thousands of motorbikes trying to cross the streets, haha.
Our first stop after the 2 hour travel to Vietnam from Malaysia was Ho Chi Minh Square. We got stopped by some local Vietnamese scouts who tried to help teach us a Vietnamese language phrase. We sucked really badly but they were nice and persistent. Finally, Ryan spoke Vietnamese! Ho Chi Minh Square is located in District 1 Saigon which is right in the middle of the city. District 1 Ho Chi Minh City is also the main tourist hub in HCM, Vietnam.
We aren’t sure if it’s better to call the city Saigon Vietnam or Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, so please leave us a comment down below and let us know which one is correct! While walking the streets and exploring Ho Chi Minh City, we got thirsty and decided to try Vietnamese coffee for the first time. Stacia loved the Vietnamese coffee but since it’s 2x stronger than regular coffee she couldn’t finish the whole thing.
Before finding the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh, we decided we wanted to get a feel for local life in Saigon. We quickly saw that the traffic in Ho Chi Minh City is a BIG part of daily life so we decided to test our luck crossing the busy streets. I can’t put into words how busy the streets of Saigon are, so you’ll just have to watch the video to see for yourself. It was a true frogger moment!
Being Americans in Vietnam, we are very interested in the war history of the Vietnam War. We were told there is an American War museum we need to check out which we will do off camera to spare sharing some deep emotional stuff with you guys. There are so many things to do in Saigon we can’t wait to explore the city for the month! If you have any suggestions for things to do in Vietnam, please leave a comment down below.
We have uploaded Vietnamese subtitles for any of you who would like to read in Vietnamese. We hope to hear from you guys in the comments and thanks for watching our first Vietnam travel vlog!
* We’re Ryan & Stacia from DeathbyVlog. Unlike other travel vloggers, we live and work in a different country each month with a moderate housing budget. Sorry, but no backpacker lifestyle here! Our channel will show you what it’s like to live abroad while exploring top tourist destinations and hidden gems. We will show you mouthwatering local food tours, provide history on each destination, and cinematic broll for all of you film lovers. Each month we rent an apartment or airbnb in a different city or country, so follow along on this journey and learn about countries around the world. We hope you enjoy our travel vlog, don’t forget to subscribe!

- You do not have to be rich to travel non-stop -
American and Thai Millennials left the career in military and finance to become travel story tellers, proving the world that you don't have to be rich to travel well. Met in August, 2015 in South Korea, kicked off traveling in September, 2017 with $4000 in saving account and first started publishing our journey on the way we live the life we have always dreamt of - traveling and being able to work wherever we love ( as long as there is Wi-Fi and coffee)
☼ Currently homeless, live the life out of luggage, travel non-stop, and grow love along the way.
☼ We are deeply into traveling, doing what locals do, managing the budget to travel non-stop, challenging ourselves daily.

8 THINGS TO DO IN SAIGON (Ho Chi Minh City) | VIETNAM VLOG #016
8 things to do in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Vietnam Vlog #16
We recently spent the day exploring some of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and thoroughly enjoyed our time. This vlog covers everything that we saw, ate and did during our day spent exploring this mega city!
To start off with, we visited the iconic war remnants museum. It was a very interesting, must see attraction, but bear in mind, it is not for the feint-hearted!
Next we headed to the famous Ben Thanh Market for some shopping, its a great place to pick up that Vietnamese souvenir you've been after! After that we had a short walk up to the Ben Thanh Street food market. This is a great place to pick up all sorts of different foods! It is one of the top tourist attractions, so be ready to pay slightly more for food here!
After that we caught a quick Grab ride over to the Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral, also a very worthwhile visit when coming to Saigon. The cathedral is currently under construction but it is still a great sight. The post office is grand and still in operation, so we recommend buying some letters at the market and posting them back home to family from here!
After that we popped in at the famous book street, this is a very trendy area and has coffee shops for you to rest your legs.
We then headed a few blocks down to the incredible city hall. this building is iconic and a must-see when in Saigon! In absolutely beautiful! Once you're done you can head down the walking street and go for dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below and we'll get back to you. If you have no questions, still leave a comment just to say hello:)
We look forward to seeing you in the next video!

Pham Ngu Lao nightlife is also one of Ho Chi Minh’s finest, with throngs of street vendors, bia hoi stalls, lively bars, and downtown clubs filling up the lively scene. Interesting nightlife entertainment spots include The View Rooftop Bar, Seventeen Saloon, Go 2 and Crazy Buffalo Nightclub as well as many smaller pubs that are known for their cheap drinks and happy hour promos. It’s also common around here to meet friendly expats who are more than happy to share a few tips about travelling in and beyond Vietnam. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, we highly suggest getting up early and visit the parks within the area. It is interesting to see (and even to join in on) the elders participating in Tai Chi-like exercise sessions. Another must-do is heading to the morning markets such as Ben Tanh Market, where local vendors sell a wide array of fresh produce, household supplies, and Vietnamese street food at attractive prices. As Pham Ngu Lao is not such a large area, it’s the perfect place to explore on foot - the best time to do this is in the morning and late afternoon as the weather can be rather scorching at the height of the day. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are also travel agencies that can help arrange for day trips within the city centre and beyond.

1 day in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Tour!
We fly into Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon from SFO. A bustling transient city that doesn't sleep. We hired a local student to show us around the city.
If you only have one day in Ho Chi Minh City, make sure these attractions are on your itinerary. From lush parks, to bustling markets, to panoramic rooftop restaurants, get a taste of all the city has to offer with my one-day guide - Rachel H
This video gives you a one day guide of how to take on Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Some tips;
The US dollar is accepted in many places, but carry VD (Vietnamese Dong) just in case.
Tipping is not expected but appreciated for good service.
Street traffic is notoriously chaotic and doesn't stop for pedestrians. Be cautious, and when in doubt, follow the locals' lead.
Taxis are the go-to mode of transportation. Make sure the driver runs the meter — if the driver tries to negotiate, there's a risk you're getting ripped off.
Dress for heat and humidity, and pack lightweight rain gear if visiting during the rainy season (late spring to early fall).
Don’t be shy about haggling for bargains at the local markets.

Our first day in Ho Chi Minh City was brilliant! We couldn't have spent it better if we tried. We headed straight out into the chaotic city to make our way to the War Remnants museum and to find out more on the recent histories of Vietnam. We then booked a Ho Chi Minh City Street Food tour far away from the tourist spots and into the local culture and cuisine!

Life In SLUM OF SAIGON - AMAZING Experience In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam ????????
This experience might be kind of unusual, but the total time we spent in less-traveled roads of Ho Chi Minh totally open our eyes to a different side of life that we never saw about Vietnam on the internet. We get the chance to fully observe the difference in lifestyle and conditions of those in the less developed communities, compared to those living in the urban areas.
Interested in the most in-depth guide to Seoul? Click here:
This video is about the experience that we explore beyond touristy areas of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) to observe the slum community guided by local Vietnamese and see the boundary between rich and poor here in Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh City, also known by its former name of Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn), is the most populous city in Vietnam. Located in southeast Vietnam, the metropolis surrounds the Saigon River. From 1955 to 1975, Saigon was the capital of the Republic of Vietnam, commonly known as South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is the most visited city in Vietnam, with 6.3 million visitors in 2017. Many of the city's landmarks which are well known to international visitors include the Bến Thành Market, Ho Chi Minh City Hall, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Independence Palace and it’s a popular destination to have the day trip to Cu Chi tunnel and Mekong delta.

☼ Everything we show you here is to not only show you how our world is such an interesting place to explore, but also inspire you to live the life you love especially when you dream of traveling.
Still want to know more about each of us ? :
Thank you for joining us along this crazy journey

THE PERFECT ONE DAY SAIGON CITY TOUR (Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Vlog 2019)
Saigon is Vietnam's biggest city. You CAN NOT MISS this if you travel Vietnam. It's got great food, interesting buildings (a bright pink church?) and more motorcycles than there are people. Ho Chi Minh City is a great place to explore for a couple of days. Come and see the opera house, the city hall, a pink church and Kim getting lost (yes - again :D). It's got a great street food scene and everything you could hope for. Oh and it is our final stop in Vietnam!
We hope you enjoyed this Vietnam travel vlog 2019 & the city tour of Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh City! We can't wait to head to Thailand and show you around this incredible country over the next few weeks :) NEXT UP: Flying to Chiang Mai and our first impressions of Thailand! Care to join us on another adventure? Then please make sure to subscribe so you don't miss this the next part of our journey, coming up very, very soon!
