Night Walk to the Daniels & Fisher Tower Clock tower Denver Co.
The Daniels & Fisher Tower is a distinctive landmark in Denver, Colorado, in the United States. Built as part of the Daniels & Fisher department store in 1910, it was the tallest between the Mississippi River and the state of California at the time of construction, at a height of 325 feet (99 m). The building was designed by the architect Frederick Sterner and modeled after The Campanile (St. Mark's Bell Tower) at the Piazza San Marco in Venice, Italy.[2] The 20-floor clock tower has clock faces on all four sides. Daniels & Fisher were later bought out by the May Company in 1958, and the store vacated the tower. When the store was demolished (ca. 1971), the tower was saved and renovated into lofts and businesses in 1981. It stands today in downtown Denver.
The basement level of the tower has been home to Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret entertainment venue since 2006.
The tower was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. A 2½ ton bell occupies the top two floors of the building, above the observation deck.
Daniels & Fisher Tower
The Daniels & Fisher Tower is a historical landmark located on what has become today, The 16th Street Mall, one of Denver's hottest spots.
Built as part of a department store in 1910, at the time was the tallest building between the Mississippi River and the state of California at a height of 325 feet.
This tower was designed by the architect Frederick Sterner, a British born american architect, who used as an inspiration the Campanile di San Marco in Venice, Italy.
(It's interior and exterior showcase classical European design with Art Deco Motifs which were just making its way into American architecture.)
After a 30 year career in Colorado, he moved to NYC, where among his accomplishments include the renovation of brownstone buildings in the Gramercy Park neighborhood. He has numerous buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

Denver Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Denver in the United States of America.
Denver is the capital of the U.S. state of Colorado and is located at 1,600 metres above sea level, on a sunny high plateau on the edge of the Rocky Mountains.
A number of brave pioneers once believed that Denver would be an ideal centre of trade and despite Indian hostilities and various other hazards, they decided to build a town in this region.
The 16th Street Mall is the city's pride. Inaugurated in 1982, it is a splendid avenue that boasts the longest pedestrianised area in the U.S.A. Trees, fountains and sculptures adorn the street as well as horses and carriages.
On Arapahoe Street, close to 16th Street ,is the Daniels And Fisher Tower. In 1911, William Cooke Daniels ordered the construction of a bell tower above his shop. It resembled the Campanile of Venice and was designed to create a good degree of southern charm.
Denver became a boomtown when the railroad arrived in 1870. The Native Indians were forced to make way for those arriving by railroad and who were attracted by the possibility of making an easy buck.
This once lively village has now developed into a modern city and the former trading arenas for fur, gold and silver have now been replaced by a skyline of glittering skyscrapers!

Stolen bell will ring again on Colorado State University campus
Almost 100 years after a bell that hung at Colorado State University’s Old Main was stolen, the nearly 500-pound piece of history is back on the Fort Collins campus, and will soon peal from a tower in the new Alumni Center.
