Day 1: We sail from Split to Brač, at Milna to the lovely restaurant only a walk away.
Day 2: Brač to Zečevo for a swim, to Hvar's town of Vrboska for the night.
Day 3: Vrboska to Bol on Brač to see Vidova Gora and onto a party at Zlatni Rat
Day 4: Bol to Vis for mopeds around the island.
Day 5: The town of Vis to Komiža to go scuba diving then to dinner.
Day 6: Vis to Hvar Town to eat and party.
Day 7: Hvar Town to Split.
Shot with the GoPro Hero 5, GoPro Hero 4 Silver, DJI Mavic Pro, Canon 7D and iPhone 7.
Check out the full article here:
Saturday, June 10: Depart from ACI Marina Split for the far southwestern side of the island Brač, near the town of Milna. We walked to Kapetanovo Lozje for dinner (personally, probably my favorite meal of the week).
Sunday, June 11: The next morning, I emerged from the cave that was our cabin to find us passing an ex-Yugoslavian military shelter for submarines. “What the what?!” It was a concrete tunnel leading into the island and I wanted to go iiiin. .
Monday, June 12: From Vrboska we headed for Bol on the island of Brač. We anchored for a bit here and a few of us jumped in, but for some reason in this area the water was a bit “oily” (but nothing even close to the TX coast; it was still stunning. You must realize how spoiled we were at this point.).
Tuesday, June 13: Slightly hungover, we made our way to the island Vis. Here, on the north side of the island, was that other submarine shelter Bruno had promised.
Wednesday, June 14: Wednesday brought us to the Green Cave (part of a tiny island on the southeast side of Vis). Wednesday brought many others there as well.
Thursday, June 15: Marina Palmižana was our next stop (cheaper to dock here and taxi than dock at Hvar Town). After showers at the marina, we boat-taxied to Hvar Town. Suh-wanky!
Friday, June 16: Our last full day on the boat, we set sail to island Šolta, where we casually ate, swam, and lounged in the Stomorska inlet (one of the only sandy areas we encountered in all of the Dalmatian coast, and a very calm, quiet area).

27. STRONG WINDS and great SAILING in Croatia | Sailing the Croatian Islands Brac Korcula and Split
This week we sail from Slano to Split over 3 days. We are fortunate that there is strong wind from Korcula which makes for a fun fast sail to Split.
Day 1 we tack from Slano to Korcula for over 11 hours and we enjoy the challenge of mixed wind. We love being on the water, so no complaints here! We anchor in Korcula at Racisce and it's nice to get some rest after a long day on the water.
Day 2 is a 50 nm sail from Korcula to Brac. We begin the day early and experience 30 knot winds for a couple of hours before it settles to 20 knots and with a mild sea state the sailing conditions are excellent. We originally want to stop at Hvar or the Pakleni Islands however the anchorages are crowded. We decide on Uvala Smka, an anchorage on Brac Island with an old submarine garage which is perfect for the night.
Day 3 is a 20nm sail from Brac to Split. Like the day before we are fortunate to experience great winds, blowing between 20 and 25 knots. The reason we are in such a rush is because there are no winds predicted in the following 4 days and we are meeting Trace's brother Jason, so we are eager to get there. There are few anchorages in Split but find a great spot off Luka Poljud which is a 10 minute walk to the old town, PERFECT!
About us:
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :)

Sailing in Croatia: Vis Island and Mljet Island
This is the first Episode of our time sailing in Croatia. In this Episode we arrive in Split, Croatia, hop aboard our 40-foot sailboat “Kodo”, and set off on our 2-week sailing adventure in the Dalmatian Coast with our friends, Carey, Demir, Captain Rohan. We spend our days relaxing on the boat, exploring hidden coves, cliff jumping, snorkelling, enjoying the beautiful views and clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, and stop to check out the islands of Vis and Mljet.
We quickly learn that Croatia is the land of great food, beautiful little coastal towns, and is home to the most adorable cats in the world!

Our itinerary:
Dreaming of clear water, a place full of history, and wine and food to die for, then make your way to Croatia.
This 8 day trip was full of history, natural wonders and great food and wine. We flew through London-Heathrow to get to Split, Croatia (there are way more airline options for Split than you would think) and then spent the next 6 days exploring the area by sea.
Day 1: BRAC - Veliki Drvenik (Blue Lagoon), Osibuva, Milna
Day 2: VIS - Ravnik (Green Cave), Rogacic (submarine tunnel)
Day 3: VIS - Bisevo (Blue Cave), Komiza
Day 4: HVAR - Stari Grad, Fortica (castle)
Day 5: BRAC/SOLTA - Zlatni Rat (Bol), Maslinca (wine tasting)
Day 6: SPLIT - Trogir (castle), Krka (water falls)
There are hundreds of places to see but we selected what we think are some of the best spots for our first trip. We had some great experiences during the trip thanks to:
Wine Tasting and Degustation on Solta: Agroturizam Kastelanac -
Tour of the Blue Cave FROM Komiza, Vi: Alternatura Tourist Agency -
Scooter Rental in Stari Grad: Park Scooter Rental - +385 91 536 6108
We drove our way out to Hvar Town to see the Fortica
Things here are done a little differently than in the Caribbean.. So here’s a few suggestions for your vacation.
1 - The more hands the better. We suggest at least 3 people onboard to help with the advanced level anchoring and docking.
2 - Arrive by 3pm in the harbours with town quays to ensure your spot. It will cost you $80-100 USD for a monohull. But it’s more convenient than anchoring or picking up a mooring in another bay. Reservations can be made for the Marinas, but they are more expensive.
3- There are plenty of places to eat with REALLY good food and it’s affordable. So enjoy the local food and don’t plan to eat aboard for dinner.
4 - Make sure you bring plenty of cash and exchange it into Kuna - preferably before you get to Split. Most places don’t except Euros (yes, they are part of the EU - but they have their own currency) and there are lots of places that only except cash. There are ATMs available in most cities and at The Moorings Base, but you’ll be charged a transaction fee by your bank. NOTE: Town quays can only be paid for with cash.

Days 37-46: Split + Croatia Sailing, Croatia Part 2
Here is Part 2 of our amazing 9 days in Split and Island Hopping along the Croatia coast. (We did so much that we couldn't fit it all in one video and had to make a 2-parter!) Rach was super excited to find herself in Kings Landing aka Dubrovnik, Liv jumped off the roof of the boat and we returned to Split for a little more exploring and relaxing before continuing on our way.
We started our time in Croatia in Split for 2 nights before getting on our Busabout Croatia Sailing boat. We went island hopping, visiting Hvar, Mljet, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Makarska, Pucisca and Omis. We spent our days sleeping, hiking, jumping off the boat, swimming and exploring old towns while our nights were filled with partying on the boat and in local bars and clubs. Or, more often than not, sleeping.....we like sleeping. After getting off the boat, we spent another 2 days in Split, exploring the underground caverns of Diocletian's Palace and cooling off in the beautiful waters on the coast of Croatia.
The waters around Croatia are breathtaking. It was quite surreal to be swimming in the ocean and to be able to see the ocean floor so far below you. This week is definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we hope to one day return to this beautiful country.

Days 37-46: Split + Croatia Sailing, Croatia Part 1
You may be wondering where Day 36 disappeared to.....well, we spent it on a bus. We left Budapest at 8am and arrived in Split, 13.5 hours later, at 9.30pm, but it was totally worth it for an amazing 9 days in Croatia! We did so much that we couldn't fit it all in one video and had to make a 2-parter!

In this first episode, they depart from the port of Split and make their way to the island of Brac. They party, and experience the best of living on a boat in the Adriatic Sea. From here they sail to Makarska on the mainland for a fun night filled with partying! This is a great way to get on the water in Croatia, and answers the questions of how to have a sailing adventure in Croatia. Cameron has wanted to get out on a boat in Croatia for the past couple summers, and thanks to Sail Croatia he found a way!
Sailing Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast - Part 1 Split to Trogir
Cruising Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast in Jeanneau 42i yacht. Starting from the town of Split and Diocletion's Palace, built in the year 295, to the World Heritage village of Trogir.
We laid-over in the sheltered port of Trogir to avoid a Croatian storm known locally as The Bora. Wandering through Trogir, we were surprised to find a big outdoor party in the public square. In ancient times, public executions were performed in the square, but tonight we find a rock band eager to pander to the tourists and a fire-juggling bartender.
Part one covers the first three days of a 10 day sailing adventure.
48 Hours In Split, Croatia | AD
I’ve just got back from an incredible 48 hours in Split, Croatia with Thomas Cook Money. Come and find out all the best things to do, including where to catch the best views, where to eat, day trips and more in my handy Split travel guide!
With its stunning old town and a pretty coastline peppered with picturesque islands, Split makes the perfect holiday for those wanting a mix of city and beach.
The city itself is one of the most historic in all of Croatia, with Diocletian’s Palace dating back to the 4th Century. Plus, the food scene is great too, with fresh Mediterranean produce, and delicacies including Istrian truffles on menus across the city.
To help you plan your trip, it’s time for me to reveal a few of my fave places and top things to do in Split, including island hopping, food and drink and where to go for the most beautiful views of Split.
This video has been produced in partnership with Thomas Cook Money.
Big thanks to Macca Sherifi (An Adventurous World) with his help shooting this video.
