Nestled in the lap of Eastern Himalayas, Sikkim is a gift of Nature. The gigantic mountains, wooded hillside, verdant valleys, torrential rivers, pleasant climes and friendly locals can clearly rejuvenates any weary soul. The state with deep ecological ethos is India’s first fully organic state. The more we delved into its scenic grandeur, the more curious we became about its food traditions. Finally after a long wait we embarked on a gastronomic journey across the state. For this expedition, we were super elated to collaborate a brilliant travel and tour company Our guest.in. For the Gangtok leg of the journey we were joined by two amazing hosts from Our Guest team, Prerna and Abigail.
Since Gangtok is the starting point of most of the expeditions in Sikkim, we commenced our food tour from here itself. On reaching here the city welcomes you with its clean, pedestrian friendly, pleasant cosmopolitan appearance. Bracing ourselves for the mercurial weather condition, we began our tour with a visit to the DIRECTORATE OF HANDICRAFT & HANDLOOM, the center that preserve and promote the state’s traditional arts and crafts. There was so much to see and buy. From there we went to M G Marg, which is the city most happening place. It is the main shopping hub in the city that is lined with quaint restaurants serving some amazing dishes. Our first stop here was The Local Cafe. Its cosy setting was brimming with people and irresistible aroma. The food here was clearly influenced by the traditional flavours. We loved their Tibetan Sandwich, Aloo Dum and Gorkha Pizza. All of them had some quintessential elements of the eclectic native cuisine.
Next we popped up a paan from Dukhi Pan shop and moved ahead to try the iconic snacks Aloo Chura. Chachaji is a celebrity in this field as his Aloo chura is legendary.
Our next stop was organic vegetable market Lal Bazaar. Prerna introduced us to some of the popular local veggies. It was a delightful place. From there we went to Baker’s Cafe. Their Lemon Madeleine, Irish Coffee and Blueberry crumble were great.
The penultimate stop was another favourite place Nimtho. And the last destination was Abigail’s home where we tried a scrumptious spread of some signature korean dishes that is part of her kitchen to table start up EYHO. Hope you enjoy the video.

Delhi, India is a true CURRY HEAVEN, and we traveled here to go for this DEEP Street Food tour of Old Delhi! The Food Ranger (Trevor James) is in India eating Street Food! This walk through Old delhi truly was an AMAZING STREET FOOD ADVENTURE with delicious curry, amazing restaurants, and with so much tasty and UNIQUE Indian food recipes for our huge Indian dinner.
If you love eating street food around the world and street food in India, or even all over Asia, you will love the street food in Old Delhi. You can find street food everywhere, where everyone seems to cook delicious Indian recipes for curry and SPICY dishes all over the street.
In one day in old Delhi, India, we had 7 delicious street foods all made in the halal style.
We started out the day with an AMAZING ramadan experience at the largest Mosque in Delhi, Jama Masjid. We picked up a ton of different Indian street foods to bring to the mosque and break the fast with all the locals. We shared the delicious food, and then went back to the streets of Old Delhi to try more food.
The first food we had on our street food tour was the Delhi Fried Chicken, DFC, covered in Indian spices like masala and mustard. It was extremely JUICY and PLUMP!!!
Afterwards, we tried more BBQ chicken and then went for a nice Indian dinner cooked by one of the locals in Old Delhi. His family recipes were passed down to him and his food was legendary! We ate Indian Chicken Biryani and chicken korma curry along with Buffalo Korma along with Kameeri Roti! It was absolutely delicious!
After this, we went to the LEGENDARY Changezi chicken joint that invented the recipe for this juicy and flavour packed chicken curry dish!
To finish of the day, we went for some delicious BBQ Seekh Kebabs, extremely flavourful!!

Delhi Food Tour - The Culinary Melting Pot (Tibetan + Israeli + Afghani + Lebanese + Bengali Food)
Come along with us as we take you on a food filled journey of some of the tastiest cuisines Delhi has to offer. We were joined by a fellow foodie Mr. Richard Bennett.
First Stop - Majnu ka Tila
This place is a small tibetan settlement in north Delhiand is jam packed with some amazing eateries. At any given corner you will manage to find a person selling Laphing, a thick noodle dish that is either served cold or in a hot soup. Then for the most popular Tibetan snack we landed at Ama Restaurant for the humble Momos.
Second Stop - Delhi University, North Campus
A day in the life of a DU student usually begins with a lip smacking cup of sweet sweet chai! And there is no place better than Sudama Tea Stall for some super strong and super sweet tea.
Then just because you're in Delhi, a plate of chhole bhature wouldn't hurt. We visited the most well known places in the area - Chache di Hatti or popularly known as Chacha ke Chhole Bhature, for some incredible food.
Third Stop - Paharganj
Paharganj has a number of hidden eateries that serve amazing food. One of them is Brown Bread Bakery. They serve a variety of Indian, German, Italian and Israeli cuisine. We tried the Israeli Thali which was like a mini mezze platter.
Fourth Stop - Connaught Place
Most Delhiites, at least once in their lifetime would have visited the age old bakery shop - Wengers. Running since the 1920s, this place is known for its outstanding patties, pastries and cakes. We tried the melt-in-the-mouth shammi kabab and Rum pastry.
Fifth Stop- Meherchand Market
A little situated in this market is known for serving pizzas at super reasonable rates. We obviously went for the simple and tasty Margherita, a simple combination of dough, sauce and cheese, just fantastic!
Sixth Stop - Defence Colony
We made a stop in Defence Colony, because this is one place you just cannot miss, for some Indo-Lebanese food or simply put Shawarma. Concept Shawarma is a popular food joint serving
perfectly spiced shawarma rolls with dollops of mayonnaise and mint chutney.
Seventh Stop - Lajpat Nagar
Here we enter the little Kabul. We made a stop for some amazing Afghan Sambosa which are stuffed with minced meat. Unlike the Indian samosa these are rectangular shaped and topped off with sesame seeds. We also tried some fresh naan that baked in tandoor.
Eighth Stop - C.R. Park
A little stroll in C.R. Park can take you to the beautiful streets of Kolkata. We visited the fish market to see some of the freshest fish and huge variety of it. Obviously, then we went on to
have some mishti doi. Finally we ended our journey with a good old paan.

Batla House/Zakir Nagar Food Walk | RAMZAN Special - Nahari + Butter Chicken Tikka + Daleem Biryani
The festive vibe of Zakir Nagar in South Delhi during Ramzan was something we couldn’t afford to miss at any cost because, just like all other places, this locality too comes alive with myriad hues of celebration, bonhomie, preparations and last but not the least scrumptious culinary options. This street food haven scores an edge among other counterparts across Delhi due to the variety, taste and most importantly affordability. In this episode we have set on a seemingly gluttonous journey to relish the delightful offerings at the place.
Our culinary journey began on a different note as we decided to have Iftar with Mehtab Bhai at the famous and iconic Nahari shop in the place, whose patrons are the locals and celebrities alike.
After buying some snacks for the Iftari, we arrived at ‘Zaved Bhai Famous Nihari’ shop. Having Iftar with the genial and humble Mehtab Bhai was a lovely experience. We enjoyed the eclectic spread of Chole, Keema Samosa, Meetha Samosa, Keema Goli, Pakode,Malai Bread etc. along with heart warming and nostalgic conversations.
With snacks done, Zaved Bhai treated us with his famous Nahari, Khameeri Roti and Nawabi Kheer. This soul satisfying dish had perfectly cooked meat parts sitting in a rich and flavoursome gravy that is topped with a thick film of Ghee and Rogan. It’s these versatile fats that make it such amazing and sought after dish. The Nawabi Kheer was dense and luscious.
We were lucky to get a chance to witness the flurry of activities at Mehtab bhai’s kitchen. The enormity of the Deghs or utensils and that of the quantity of meat, fat (oil) and spices combined with the amazing human expertise and efforts made us squirm in wonder and praise.
From there we reached the decade old Chacha Sharbat Wala to get cooled down with a glass of sweetened rose drink. It was utterly refreshing and satisfying.
Next stop was Shafiq Bhai’s Chicken Corner. The Butter Chicken Tikka with copious amount of butter and cream was delectable not just as a whole dish but also in parts. The carom seed and fenugreek punch in it was simply magical. The Chicken Sheikh Kebab on the other hand was also perfectly done.
From there, we went to Gul Bahar Chicken Fry and tried their double fried chicken legs which were quite good in taste and texture.
Having done with it we arrived at Madina Biryani Centre to try a novel sounding dish called the Daleem Biryani. It was a delicious combination of a well cooked, aromatic Biryani and a lentil, wheat, meat and spices based, one pot, slow cooked gooey stuff similar to Haleem. Nonetheless it was quite delicious and hearty.
Thereon we went to the celebrated kebab shop, the Talib Kebab Corner. One bite was enough to cement the glory of these succulent, meaty and scrumptious kebabs in our memory. This iconic joint truly deserves the time and attention of all hardcore meat lovers.
With some more room available, in our stomach, for the gluttony, we devoured a delicious and pocket friendly plate of Galawati kebab along with Ulte Tawa Ka Paratha and Aloo Katli (home styled, simple, dry potato dish prepared in minimal spices) at Lucknowi Galawaati Kebab Restaurant. The Aloo Katli was indeed the star of the plate.
The Ashraf Kheer shop was out final stop in this super gratifying and festive culinary sojourn at Zakir Nagar. The smooth Shahi Kheer and chilled and luscious Rabri Faluda were sensational.
It was one of those blissfully contradictory experiences where we were full but our heart wasn't.

Food tours are our favorite things to do in new countries, and India is no different. Our new local friend Anubhav from Delhi Food Walks took us around to the BEST Indian street food spots in town! If you go to Delhi, you MUST go on this food tour!
This was actually a breakfast food walk, so we tried many traditional Indian breakfast foods for the first time. Indian street food and Indian Food is something I've always loved to eat! So I flew to Delhi, India just for the food, and have been eating Indian street food and curry non stop. Old Delhi is a food lovers heaven! It's been the best Street Food I've tasted in India! The Indian food is so good in Delhii! I've eaten street food in Chennai, street food in Hyderabad, Indian street food in Kerala, and street food in Mumbai, all of which has been amazing!

Indore is a city that prides itself for food. The street food here is heavily influenced by the neighbouring states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The diverse street food culture here is a testimony of the food crazy locals and also the Indori ingenuity that is visible in the quintessential dishes found here. In this episode we bring you some of the wide variety of must try delicacies from different pockets of the city.
Our first stop was Head Sahab ke Pohe, where we tried the Usal Poha or poha served with a spicy chole and other accompaniments. It was quite spicy yet zesty. Even in the rainy weather people had thronged the place to enjoy a plate.
The second stop was Rasgulla house, a place enormously famous in Indore for their softest and yummiest rasgullas. It is run by an enthusiastic and agile granny who proudly showed us the process of making rasgulla. Watching the tiny cottage cheese balls puffing up into spongy and bouncy delectable spheres was a thing of joy. They were irresistible that I had to stop myself at 4 only because we had the whole food trail to complete.
After this we headed to Ghanshyam Chaat House to gorge on some big sized gol gappas. The ones that you get here are bigger than the cavity size of your mouth and stuffing inside along with the spiced water makes it more difficult to handle it but it's fun to devour it. The masala and the water were perfectly zesty. We also tried the dahi puchna which was a fountain of flavours.
From there we headed on to try the unique corn ladoos from Sharma Ji’s cart. Made from dried and desiccated fresh corn paste, this sweetmeat is both delicious and filling. Tastewise it resembles the besan ke ladoo, a seasonal fare that one should try.
We then went to Sindh Bakery, a very special bakery run by a gentleman who is immensely fond of old hindi songs and the stalwarts who sang them. This place has the best bakery items in the city. We loved their rusk and baked samosas. The samosas were more like puff pastries. Do pay a visit to this place for the irresistible sight and aroma of various traditionally baked cookies, biscuits, puffs etc, old music and endearing company and stories.
Next stop was Sri Krishna Gujrati Kadhi and Fafda, a place famous for Fafda and Kadhi. The combination was decent although among the two we liked fafda the most.
Soon it was the turn of some luscious Kaju shake. It was a simple yet divine concoction of milk, cashew paste and sugar. It’s a must try place for thandais.
From there we went to another popular spot, the Lal balti kachori shop. The potato stuffed kachoris were quite decent but what made them special and delicious was a super spicy chilli chutney coriander chutney.
Next was the turn of popular veg hot dog from Lala Chat Bhandar. The crisp pan-fried buns smeared with chutney and stuffed with chole, paneer slices, potato patty, onions sev etc was zesty and very appetising.
Our final stop for the day was the iconic Lakshinanayan Doodhwala. This place is hugely popular for their flavoured milk. Apart from the hot luscious milk drink, another noteworthy thing about this place is the humongous Karai or pan in which the milk is boiled. It is deemed as the largest pan in the whole state. With this we wrapped up our first day at Indore. Apart from the food this place has also earned laurel for being the cleanest city in India.

Collaborating with our friend Anubhav Sapra from Delhi Food Walks was really fun with whom we went 71 years back in time and experienced the shared history that Indian and Pakistani cuisine have. From finding the same popular dishes to family members running restaurants on both sides of the border we came to find both our countries having the same culture and cuisine, showing the bond of love that people on both sides share. This experience made us realize that we are more alike than we are portrayed.

One of the most awaited time of the year, Durga Puja is the epitome of celebrating love, revery and of course food!

Chittranjan Park in Delhi is THE place to be during this time of the year. There are Pandals at every second turn, a lot of people and some of the most delectable food you will ever get.

From Singhara to Ghugni, and from Bhog to Biryani, we tried it all. The devotion for Maa Durga and a devotion to celebrate one's culture is evident; there's music and dance, and a sense of togetherness in the chaotic yet vibrant atmosphere of these Pandals.
We love doing Food Walks all across Delhi but there is something about Pujo, the festivities and happiness all around you, one just cannot help but be a part of it.

Anthony Bourdain, the stalwart food adventurer and storyteller left us too soon, leaving behind a melancholic void in the food world. Today on the occasion of his birth anniversary we join the global food fraternity in observing Bourdain Day which has been deemed by his dear friends Eric Repert and Jose Andres as an occasion for all his friends and fans to come together with stories and anecdotes in order to keep his memory alive. It’s a mixed feeling for all his admirers as on the one hand his epic repertoire is a celebratory thing, a blessing while on the other the realisation of his absence is a desolate void.
Delhi Food Walks shares similar passion that is reinstated by one of his philosophies as reflected in his quote - “It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn.” This one and many others keep infusing perpetual direction to our endeavours.
Bourdain was an inquisitive and open minded foodie beyond measure, who spent much of his public life seeking out the most unlikely of delicious foods. We admire the way he was ever curious to meet the creators behind those dishes. His talent and his intellect never ceased to amaze us and we do miss him very much. We can’t forget that he brought the world into our homes and inspired many like us to explore cultures and cities through their food.
Even though we didn’t know him personally we truly love and admire him for his manner, his openness and wonderful ways of seeing, loving and respecting the world and it’s beautiful diverse cultures.
This special video featuring the essence and wayfaring spirit of Delhi Food Walks is a humble tribute to the epic legacy of this master food raconteur. Come and be a part of this remembrance effort for somebody has rightly said that remembering is a form of meeting. Tony you will always be the lodestar of our journey.
