Dr. Graham's Homes, Kalimpong, Darjeeling | Kalimpong Tourist Places | Kalimpong's Best School
Dr. Graham's Homes is one of the popular tourists spots in Kalimpong. This is an old school founded by Dr. John Anderson Graham in 1900. Dr Graham was a Scottish missionary He loved children. He settled in Kalimpong and started working with the local community to help the orphans. Some of the notable alumni of this school are Mr. Tshering Tobgay, the present Prime Minister of Bhutan and David R. Syielmlieh, the former Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission of India. This place looks like a place of an old age Europe. There is also an old church inside the Graham's Homes. It's called Katherine Graham Memorial Chapel. This chapel was built in 1925 in memory of Katherine Graham, wife of Dr Graham. This is the place from where the whole area looks most beautiful. This chapel was built in as Scottish architecture. Katherine Graham died in 1919 and Dr. Graham died in 1942. Both has been buried here. This chapel was declared Heritage by the Heritage Commission of India in 1918. Unlike other tourist spots this place is less crowded. If you are visiting Kalimpong, don't miss Dr Graham's Homes.
