Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. Welcome to Episode 2 of my new travel vlog series: Together In Egypt. Day 1 in Cairo! I think up to that point I was on the actual plane in the air more than I was in on the ground. It was at least over 30 hours with transit from Perth to Cairo. Anyway, we wasted no time, my uncle was likeLet's go to the Pyramids while you're fresh from overseas!Hahaha, surprisingly I had energy to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza the next morning after I landed last night. GUYS! It is a site of AWESOME! A true jaw-dropping human invention/engineering. From Cairo city centre to the Pyramids is not far, you can just Uber it. My recommendation is to come in Egypt's Winter tome, less harsh sunlight and probably less tourists. It costed 160 Egyptian pounds to get in which is not too bad. If you want to get in some of the chambers inside, you have to pay extra. I was not that interested in them so I didn't go. You can actually see more of everything in the Egyptian Museum! With that said, don't plan your trip now cuz they are in the middle of renovation and moving to a new location which is near the road entry to the Pyramids. I would say give it another 6 months or a year for them to properly place all the artifacts before planning your trip. After that, we all went to Mall of Egypt which is quite near the Pyramids. It was so good to shop again! Food in Egypt is so cheap compared to Australia. HEY EVERYBODY! Whoa I cannot believe I went to egypt. Welcome to part 1 of my Egypt Vlog. This was such an amazing trip, and so different for me. Not your average slaycation. I had an amazing time and met some amazing people. I saw the Great Pyramids of Giza in the Sahara Desert, went to the Cairo Museum, The Mohammed Ali Mosque, the Coptic church and even went to some of the pyramids and Tombs. IT WAS INSANE. How do you guys think the pyramids were built? It was crazy to see how in tune and intelligent our ancient ancestors were. It has always been a mystery, and it was cool to see all of these fascinating ancient buildings up close in real life. The people in Egypt are so friendly, once you say hello! I definitely stood out and got stared at a lot. That happens everywhere but especially here. I felt totally safe everywhere I went with my guide and had an amazing time!

In this FULL-ON street food adventure vlog, we are traveling to Cairo, Egypt, famous for it's long history and delicious street food. Egypt has some super tasty Middle east food, but it's upgraded! And at the end, we're going to BBQ HEAVEN! We're traveling to take you to discover some AMAZING Egyptian Street food cooked by the amazing local chefs, all using famous Egyptian recipes right on the street! The true variety of Egyptian flavours you can try here is insane!
First up, we're eating a traditional egyptian breakfast, the Foul Fava bean dip, and Egyptian bread with felafel along with so many more Egyptian street food dishes. If you're curious what Egyptians eat, this is it, a healthy breakfast and tons of powerful baladi bread.These are all super tasty Ancient Egyptian recipes and super local and popular , using only the best Egyptian spices!!
After that amazing Egyptian breakfast, we're going for more Egyptian street food, making our way to a famous Egyptian Shawarma street stall famous for it's fatty dripping beef that melts in your mouth, all packed into the softest bun.
And next up, we're going for the HEAVIEST street food in Egypt, DEEP in the local neighbourhoods of Cairo, the Fateer Egyptian Pie. It's stuffed PLUMP with so much meat and cheese that one piece fills you up for the whole day. And it's so cool to watch the master chefs prepare it all by hand.
And to finish up our day of Egyptian street food, we're going for 2 more amazing street foods in Cairo. The first, an amazing bowl of Koshary egyptian pasta. This is incredibly delicious and hearty.
Our final street food location is actually a huge Egyptian restaurant that has outdoor grills and some of the BEST BBQ meat in the country. We are eating of course at the one and only The Prince restaurant in Cairo.
But first, we are making our way to the one and only famous Egyptian pyramids. No trip to Cairo would be complete without visiting the Pyramids.
And when we made our way to the prince, we had the BEST BBQ in Egypt!

Cairo/ Giza: Local transport | Hotels | offline Maps | Tourist Hassles in Egypt (2018)
After arriving from Alexandria, I took a bus to Giza Pyramids from a bus terminal inside the city of Giza. Thanks to the helpful people who guided me to the bus terminal. In the initial part of the video, you will see the mad traffic of Giza; you'll get a glimpse local transportation in Egypt. The bus I took to my hotel in Giza is called minibus. I have shared information about the Minibus fare in Cairo and Giza. The person sitting beside me also helped me to understand the mobile service providers in Egypt. So there is a mention of the best mobile network in Egypt.
The video will also show you the hotel rating scam which I went through. The people, in general, are helpful, but there were few incidents which lead to tourist's harassments. Such events make a tourist feel unsafe in Egypt. In the latter part of the video, you'll find hotels near Giza Pyramids. I stayed in one of them. I got a good view of the pyramids from its rooftop.

This vlog is about my trip to the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo, Egypt. It was actually a 24-hour layover provided by Egypt Air. This video has information about transit visa, entry ticket fees, the sound and light show at Giza Pyramids and many interesting historical facts about The Pyramids and Sphinx. I'd also like to mention here that the best and most enjoyable way for a tourist to enjoy this experience is to get a local guide. This will prevent you from getting scammed at The Pyramids.

Today I earned my Arab name and successfully dodged many a pushy salesman. We ate at a local restaurant for $2 a piece and enjoyed perusing the local streets of Giza, Egypt all while trying to blend in with our new head coverings.

We Tried Egypt Street Food | Must Eat Local Dishes in Cairo
Trying Egyptian Food in Cairo - it's our second day here in Cairo, Egypt and we thought we would head on out to try some of the local Egyptian and Middle Eastern Food.
To get our pallet ready we tried Ma'An Sulta (Salad water), before getting some prickly fruit from a street food cart. We then headed to Felfela, a famous restaurant here in Cairo to have some Turkish coffee, Shorbet 'ads (lentil soup), baba ganoush (eggplant dip), ful, besara and Betinjan Maqli.
On the way to our next restaurant we tried arabic coffee for the first time, hibiscus juice as well as some white Egyptian Sobia drink before trying some home cooked Bamya.
Before we tried the most famus Egyptian dish, we had some Baskote Yansoon as we made our way towards the end of downtown to try Koshari...I am not sure how we had space for desert but managed to squeeze in Konafa, Basbousa and more...we are officially full!
