Bayside - Carry On live at Electric Factory (Philadelphia, United States) 14/11/2012
Bayside performing 'Carry On' from their 'The Walking Wounded' album at The Electric Factory in Philadelphia as the support for Taking Back Sunday On Wednesday November 14th. Unfortunately Bayside took no risks in their set on the night playing their usual safe show but fortunately it sounded great as usual, here's hoping Bayside do a concept show/tour one day performing their debut Victory album from start to finish.

Gorilla Biscuits -Live 8/6/16 This Is Hardcore 2016 Electric Factory, Philadelphia, Pa.

From Wiki:
Gorilla Biscuits is a New York-based hardcore punk band originally formed in 1987. The band currently consists of Anthony Civarelli, Walter Schreifels, Arthur Smilios, Alex Brown and Luke Abbey, and is signed to Revelation Records.
Gorilla Biscuits were formed when Arthur Smilios and Nick Drysdale met Anthony Civ Civarelli while they were both attending the same high school on Long Island. All three were fans of the band Agnostic Front, and started going to hardcore shows at CBGB on weekends. There they met people like Ray Cappo and John Porcelly of the band Youth of Today.
Arthur sought to form a hardcore band and asked Civ to act as vocalist. However Civ was not interested in singing, and had to face the floor or wall during early gigs due to nerves. Members of the band Token Entry arranged a gig for the still unnamed band (Gorilla Biscuits used Token Entry's drummer, Ernie Parada for that first show), but needed a name to give it to the promoter. A popular drug in the area at that time was quaaludes, which people called ape shit, or gorilla biscuits due to the pill's large size. Eventually the name evolved into Gorilla Biscuits, and though it was initially only meant to be temporary, they have continued to use it.
The band made a number of low-fi demo tapes which were sold at a dollar store. Their first official T-shirts were blue with an image of a gorilla riding a skateboard and were made using black magic markers and an ink blotter.
Revelation Records featured the early Gorilla Biscuits song Better Than You on one of their compilations, and later released the eponymously titled Gorilla Biscuits 7-inch EP in 1988, which later became a hardcore hit. The band toured the United States and Europe twice. In 1989, the band released their first full-length album, Start Today, which became the biggest selling ever for Revelation Records, and was also the first album that was issued on CD, alongside its vinyl and cassette versions, as part of the routine production. The band started writing material for a second LP (an unreleased song, Distance, can be seen played by the band during a performance in the 1991 documentary Live In New York) which they never recorded, and eventually disbanded around the year 1992. Some of the members went on to play in a follow-up band, CIV. Besides singing for CIV, Civ now owns a tattoo studio on Long Island. Walter went on to form the post-hardcore band Quicksand. He then wrote the songs for and helped produce CIV's first album.
On August 6, 2016, during Gorilla Biscuits' set at Philadelphia's This Is Hardcore festival, Civorelli, took a break to introduce the song Degradation, that rails against nazis in the 1980s punk scene. He also commented on the Black Lives Matter movement, saying
In 2016 people still have to wear shirts that say 'Black Lives Matter'. No shit. Brown, white, yellow, black, we all fucking matter. Everybody here matters. Do not let the media, schools, institutions, influence you. We are one family, one people.
The statement did not sit well with many attendees at the festival and was followed two days later by a song introduction from 108's frontman Rob Fish, who attempted to affirm the Black Lives Matter movement.

Pennsylvania
The Keystone state -- key to America's independence. Check out the history and culture of Pennsylvania, where many German-speaking immigrants settled, with Christopher Hoh. #50states #PA
Transcript:
Hello, my name is Christopher Hoh. I work in the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, and I was born and brought up in the the Keystone State.
Pennsylvania was one of the original 13 colonies. It was called the Keystone State in the 18th century because of its central location and role in U.S. history. The first capital of the United States was in Philadelphia.
Before it was colonized, the area was home to Native American tribes, including the Lenape and the Susquehannok.
The name Pennsylvania means, Penn's Woods. In 1681, England's King Charles II gave the land to William Penn as payment for a debt of 16,000 pounds. This was one of the largest land grants to an individual in history.
William Penn was a member of the Religious Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, who were persecuted in England. So Penn established the colony for any people persecuted for their faith.
Many religious exiles from Europe settled in Pennsylvania, including the Amish, an Anabaptist sect. Today, the Amish live much as they did in the 17th century, without modern conveniences such as electricity and cars.
In the 18th and 19th centuries Germans migrated to Pennsylvania in large numbers. English‐speakers mispronounced the German word, Deutsch, as Dutch, and these immigrants became known as the Pennsylvania Dutch.
In many Pennsylvania communities, German was spoken as the language of everyday life into the early 1900's. You can still hear German dialects in the farmers' markets of Lancaster and Reading, my home town.
The language is similar to Germany's Palatinate dialect. For example, the man's dog -- der Hund des Mannes -- is this in PA Dutch -- em Mann sei Hund.
Today, 12.7 million people live in Pennsylvania, the sixth most populous state in the U.S. It covers over 46,000 square miles (more than 119,000 km2 ).
Pennsylvania has several large cities. Philadelphia was known in the 1700's as the Athens of America because of its rich cultural life.
Part of that is attributed to Pennsylvania's most famous citizen, Benjamin Franklin -- author, inventor, philosopher, businessman, diplomat and revolutionary leader.
Philadelphia is also home to the Liberty Bell, the icon of American freedom. It remains on view, cracked, on Independence Mall, where the Continental Congress met and in 1776 declared independence from Britain.
Here are some other firsts from Pennsylvania:
The first medical school, hospital, library and insurance company were established in there.
The first commercially drilled oil well near Titusville produced the first U.S. oil boom in 1859.
The first U.S. Envoy to Austria in 1838 was Henry A.P. Muhlenberg, from Lancaster.
And the Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in America.
My hometown, Reading, is located in southeastern Pennsylvania. Formerly a textile and manufacturing center, Reading became known as The Factory Outlet Capital of the World.
The surrounding area has been called the Snack Food Capital of the World, leading all other states in the production of pretzels, chips and candy.
The state has some other interesting food facts.
The Yuengling Brewery, in Pottsville, is the oldest operating brewery in America, established in 1829.
A little further west is Hershey, the birthplace of Hershey chocolate bars. The town smells of chocolate and the street lights are shaped like Hershey kisses.
And don't forget Philly cheese steaks.
Pennsylvania gave birth to one US President -- James Buchanan in the 1800s.
Vice President Joe Biden was born in Scranton.
Many actors also come from Pennsylvania including Kevin Bacon, Bill Cosby, Tina Fey and Sharon Stone, to name a few.
Pennsylvania has always had a creative music scene. Each religious sect that settled in Pennsylvania brought with it a unique style of music. The Moravians, in Bethlehem, introduced organs and trombones into their worship. The Mennonites and Lutherans sang heartily, from German hymnbooks. And the Ephrata Cloister was known for beautiful harmony.
Popular singers today include Taylor Swift, from Wyomissing, and Christina Aguilera and George Benson, from Pittsburgh.
Philadelphia is also the birthplace of the famous TV program, American Bandstand, which introduced singers and bands to teenagers for more than 20 years.
I travel the world but I still have a strong connection to my home state: I'm a career diplomat -- like Benjamin Franklin, our country's first envoy. I'm also a composer who benefited from my home state's musical milieu.
I'm proud to come from Pennsylvania, the land of the Liberty Bell, which helped inspire the cause of freedom for all humanity.

Abandoned Railroad Tracks in Philadelphia
Climbing location: 912 Buttonwood Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
There are some barb wires on the ramp, but still pretty easy to avoid. If you can do a pull up, you should be fine with climbing this. If not, you may need help getting up the ramp.
That actually name of the railroad tracks that I explored is called the Reading Viaduct, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Of the whole, the segment that I explored in this video is from Vine Street to 9th and Spring Garden.
On 9th and Spring Garden, there’s an abandoned train station with graffiti all over the walls. There are also stairs that lead into the ground level, but its super spooky and dark, so make sure to either bring a flashlight or a friend.
On Callowhill Street, there’s a sort of an abandoned power house that has graffiti all over, as well. This location is also the fork of the tracks that allow people to walk up from Noble Street, but is fenced off due to the construction of the Reading Viaduct Park, which should be completed by the end of 2018.
