Looking for Big Bulls in Southern Colorado - Episode #4 by RHR
THROUGH THE SEASONS - Episode #4 Five Days of Foreshadowing
Roe Hunting Resources shares a few of the highlights from the first five days of the 2012 Colorado elk hunting season in southern Colorado. Between the inconsistent wind, the large number of cows and calves, and the numerous satellite bulls that were encountered, the first five days of the 2012 season ended up foreshadowing how the rest of the season was going to be for the RHR crew! In this episode, you'll see some elk that got a little up-close-and-personal, hear some great calf vocalizations, and check out a few nice southern Colorado bulls.

Colorado Trail Segment 24 by Horseback
Segment 24 is one of the most challenging segments for horses. Traveling on the current route for segment 23 at higher elevations it is difficult to find ways to get horses on to the trail. We exited the CT by riding down Stoney Pass Rd. into Silverton. Not a easy way to go after so many elevation changes on 23. We discovered Highland Mary Lakes trail out of Cunningham Gulch which connects to CDT and CT.You need to take the stock cutoff. Segment 24 is not for the faint of heart, or an unseasoned horse. As you will see in the video there are many potential hazards for horses, and if you have a injured horse after the descent on the switchbacks into the Elk Creek drainage, there is no way to get them out unless they are sound.

Beaver Creek Ranch - Daniel, Wyoming
Less than one hour from Jackson Hole, the extraordinary Beaver Creek Ranch is centered on the confluence of the beautiful Green River with the historic three forks of Beaver Creek. Comprised of approximately 9,966 deeded acres, the ranch is located north of Daniel, Wyoming in the Upper Green River Valley of Sublette County. The meandering waters of the ranch include about 8 miles along the Green River and about 20 miles of winding live water on the three forks of Beaver Creek. Trophy trout abound in these cold mountain waters, where elk, antelope, moose and mule deer are also plentiful. The ranch carries about 4000 yearlings.
