Is Florida the Best 'Bug out' State - for Preppers.
Is Florida the Best 'Bug out' State - for Preppers.
With a plenty of sunshine, warm weather all year-round and a more than enough rainfall, Florida is maybe the best place to be a survivor in the event of any major unforeseen national emergency or problem. In Florida one can be a prepper and live in style and not have to hunker down in a cave as some preppers do in other parts of the country. Also central Florida is well above sea-level with many places being over 100 feet above sea-level, so that in the unlikely event of flooding of the east coast of the United States, most of Florida would likely not be affected. With a very long growing season and plenty of rainfall and sunshine the prospects of agriculture are fantastic in Florida. If only the State of Florida would allow the growing of Industrial Hemp, Florida could be totally energy and food dependent.
Florida is undoubtedly one of the best areas in the United States for agriculture and growing your own food. Additionally the mild winters do not present much problem for having to provide heat should the power (electrical) grid go down or fail nationwide.

A Leadership Lesson from the Amish | Joe Donnermeyer | TEDxOhioStateUniversity
In his talk, Dr. Joe Donnermeyer discusses conformity and commitment within the Amish community and what we can learn from these values.
A city boy by birth and upbringing, Dr. Joe Donnermeyer’s interest in rural societies and cultures go back to his graduate student days at the University of Kentucky and his thesis research conducted deep in the heart of the Bluegrass state’s Appalachian region. During his many years at The Ohio State University, he became an academic “bigamist,” pioneering the development of rural criminology while at the same time conducting research and teaching a course annually about the Amish. With retirement, Dr. Donnermeyer has not slowed down. His upcoming publication, “International Handbook of Rural Criminology” is scheduled for release in mid-2016, and he is the co-founder and assistant editor of the “Journal of Amish and Plain Anabaptist Studies,” which is published semi-annually.

USA: FLORIDA: PROTEST AGAINST GOVERNMENT'S NEW IMMIGRATION LAWS
Span/Eng/Nat
Thousands of Nicaraguans have rallied in Miami to protest the U-S government's new immigration laws that could lead to their deportation.
Leaders of the Nicaraguan exile community say those who have lived in the country for years now fear night-time raids and deportation letters from the U-S Immigration and Naturalisation Service.
The new law tightens the process of deportation appeals and comes into effect on April 1st.
Waving Nicaraguan and U-S flags members of Miami's Nicaraguan exile community gathered in this suburban park Sunday to protest the threat of deportation.
The demonstrators called for justice and a 'humanitarian solution' to fears that the U-S wants to send them back to their homeland after offering them political asylum during the 1980s.
Thousands left Nicaragua in the 80s to escape from war and repression.
The Contra rebels - supported by the U-S - were waging a civil war against the leftist Sandinistas.
Many exiles were given U-S citizenship.
Others were allowed to work and live in the U-S, but were denied resident status.
The U-S now says they must go home sending scores of exiles into hiding.
That's the case of 38-year-old Maria.
Maria and her 13-year-old daughter Gloria came into the U-S via Texas in October 1988.
She applied for political asylum in 1992 but it was denied and she was issued with an 'Order to Show Cause' in Dec. of 1992.
She continued to work and pay taxes, with legal work permits.
On February 4th this year Maria received a deportation notice, asking her to report to the I-N-S in Miami for deportation.
On March 7th, she went into hiding rather than being taken into custody at Chrome detention centre with her year old daughter.
Her lawyer, Anna Navarro, says many others will follow her client's steps.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
They're going to live in this constant fear and in hiding and what's going to happen is that they're going to be working underground, probably and living their lives in an underground manner.
SUPER CAPTION: Anna Navarro, Immigration Attorney
There are some within the government who oppose the new immigration laws.
Republican Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart is one of them.
He supports the exile community's efforts to receive resident status.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
It's totally unfair and what's been done to Nicaraguans, the separation of the families, night-time deportations, these forced divisions, it's all unfair and I think Nicaraguans are being treated in an inappropriate unethical manner.
SUPER CAPTION: Anna Navarro, Immigration Attorney
Balart added that the U-S government encouraged Nicaraguans to leave their homeland.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
The reality manner is that they were invited here by U-S foreign policy, and that's got to be recognised, you know, U-S foreign policy supported the rebellion in Nicaragua in the 80s and was very grateful for those who left Nicaragua as a statement of rejection.
SUPER CAPTION: Anna Navarro, Immigration Attorney
Diaz-Balart said a bill is pending to grant residency to Nicaraguans.
Those who face deportation say they no longer have ties to their homeland.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
Now we are in a limbo and our children will be the ones to suffer the consequences. We have no place to live in Nicaragua, we don't have a roof, we don't have anything.
SUPER CAPTION: Anna Navarro, Immigration Attorney
Of 60-thousand Nicaraguans in the Miami area, at least 45-thousand are threatened by the new immigration laws.

The Nightmare World of Gang Stalking
More than 10,000 people worldwide claim they're the victims of a vast organized surveillance effort designed to ruin their lives, a phenomenon known as gang stalking. Mental health experts see gang stalking as a symptom of paranoia, but the self-identified victims who insist what they're experiencing is real have come together online and in support groups to share their stories.
VICE met up with a handful of Americans who claim their lives have been derailed by gang stalking to understand what serious consequences the phenomenon presents. Then we hear from Dr. Josh Bazell, one of many physicians who believes the victims of gang stalking are experiencing dangerous delusions that could be treated by mental health professionals.

“The president of the United States . . . is missing.”
With these words, New York Times journalist J. B. Collins, reporting from the scene of a devastating attack by ISIS terrorists in Amman, Jordan, puts the entire world on high alert. The leaders of Israel and Palestine are critically injured, Jordan’s king is fighting for his life, and the U.S. president is missing and presumed captured.
As the U.S. government faces a constitutional crisis and Jordan battles for its very existence, Collins must do his best to keep the world informed while working to convince the FBI that his stories are not responsible for the terror attack on the Jordanian capital. And ISIS still has chemical weapons . . .
Struggling to clear his name, Collins and the Secret Service try frantically to locate and rescue the leader of the free world before ISIS’s threats become a catastrophic reality.
