Fudpucker's, Okaloosa Island, Fort Walton Beach, Florida
Hope every one had an awesome 2017 July 4th!!!
Today we decided to beat the traffic and head to Fudpucker's on the jet skies! It was awesome, the water was flat and we saw a bunch of dolphins playing along the way!
According to the Fudpucker's website, its not just a restaurant, but an entertainment complex and we have to agree... there is a lot to do here! They offer a bunch and to get a better idea of everything they have we recommend you check out their website linked below as we just hit the highlights. It's is important to note that there are 2 Fudpucker restaurants and on this day we went to the one in Fort Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island located across from the board walk.
Once we arrived at Fudpucker's via the marina, we were happy to see that there was not much of a wait. We were seated immediately in the waterfront dining area. There are two dining areas both sporting bars and nautical decor, one water front and the other I would describe as the inside dining area, although they are both inside. The waterfront dining area offers both inside and outside dining depending on the weather making it feasible to open the large doors.
Once we were seated, we were greeted by a bubbly bartender who would also serve as our waitress. She quickly offered us a free appetizer of crab dip as I assume she knew they were behind and would take a while for our order to arrive. We enjoyed the dip while we waited the almost 26 minutes for our food to arrive.
After eating, we decided to do some exploring. Fudpucker's also houses Fat Daddy's Arcade which is a perfect place for the kiddos to hang out while waiting. HERE'S A TIP!!! Check out the menu for a Fat Daddy's buck which is a coupon for 4 free tokens for game play.
If the arcade is not your thing be sure to swing by and check out the live alligator tank where you can get your picture taken or even hold one.
If being outside is more your thing, you will find an awesome view of the bay in the back of the restaurant and can even swing by and grab a quick snow cone. It's always fun to see whats going on at the marina, and if you're feeling really sporty, you can even rent a pontoon boat, jet skies or paddle boards there.
Depending on what night you decide to go, you might even be able to catch a dinner show, one of the favorites is the magic show. On Thursdays and Fridays they even host a teen night. There is also a Fudpucker's app you can download and get a list of what is scheduled for the week.
We did find the building a little awkward and it appears that there still may be a little construction going on as it seems a bit cluttered outside but food is good and service is great.
Here are the scores for the restaurant. We have divided the scoring into 3 categories. Food, Service, and Overall Experience giving the restaurant a possible total of 90 points.
FOOD: TOTAL 25 OUT OF 30 POINTS
Coleton: 9
Mom: 8
Dad: 8
SERVICE: 26 OUT OF 30 POINTS
Coleton: 9
Mom: 8
Dad: 9
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: TOTAL 25 OUT OF 30
Coleton: 9
Mom: 8

TOTAL SCORE 79 OUT OF 90 POINTS. In high school, Fudpucker's would have received an 84%. Not bad, definitely recommended.

*GRAPHIC* SHARK BITES SPEARFISHERMAN IN FLORIDA KEYS
Check out our new video from a few recent trips!
Follow me @parketsimon on Instagram for more spearfishing and dive content!
The short clip of me getting bit by a 7-8ft reef shark. We were spearfishing near Middle Sambos reef off Boca Chica in the Florida Keys when this shark came up behind us.
He first went at my dive buddy Justyn but immediately turned toward me. He first bit my left fin then took a piece out of the right fin before biting my leg and cutting the speargun line. I assumed he was trying to steal the black grouper I was holding but, after I lost the grouper and watched it swim to the bottom, the shark kept coming at us! Justyn went back down for my gun and actually shoved it in the sharks mouth! The shark then took it straight to the bottom while we rushed back to the boat and safety. Always dive with a buddy and someone who is trained in first aid! I would not have made it back to the boat without the help of another strong swimmer and would have bled out had we not been able to apply proper first aid immediately. The shark tore through the skin, fat tissue, muscle sheath, muscle, and unfortunately my tibial artery which caused me to lose more than a liter of blood.
This clearly could have been much worse! Happy to still have my leg even with a piece missing! And we even got my Koah speargun back!!!

0:33 - OH GAWD SHARK!
0:48 - Ew...
3:30 - SHARKS??

Thanks to everyone that was there or came to help!
Pictures of the wound were quite graphic and have been left out. To view them, check out this link:

The Great Gildersleeve: Marjorie's Boy Troubles / Meet Craig Bullard / Investing a Windfall
The Great Gildersleeve (1941--1957), initially written by Leonard Lewis Levinson, was one of broadcast history's earliest spin-off programs. Built around Throckmorton Philharmonic Gildersleeve, a character who had been a staple on the classic radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly, first introduced on Oct. 3, 1939, ep. #216. The Great Gildersleeve enjoyed its greatest success in the 1940s. Actor Harold Peary played the character during its transition from the parent show into the spin-off and later in a quartet of feature films released at the height of the show's popularity.
On Fibber McGee and Molly, Peary's Gildersleeve was a pompous windbag who became a consistent McGee nemesis. You're a haa-aa-aa-aard man, McGee! became a Gildersleeve catchphrase. The character was given several conflicting first names on Fibber McGee and Molly, and on one episode his middle name was revealed as Philharmonic. Gildy admits as much at the end of Gildersleeve's Diary on the Fibber McGee and Molly series (Oct. 22, 1940).
He soon became so popular that Kraft Foods—looking primarily to promote its Parkay margarine spread — sponsored a new series with Peary's Gildersleeve as the central, slightly softened and slightly befuddled focus of a lively new family.
Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.
In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company (If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve) and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.
Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).
The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.
