Fethard-on-Sea St Patricks Day Parade 2019
Had to park much further away than I expected so was a mad dash to catch the middle of the parade after missing the first half.
Location visit: Fethard-on-Sea in Lord of the Sea Castle
Last weekend was the Bannow 1169 The Norman Festival which was a commemoration of the momentous events that began 850 years ago.
One morning I made the short journey over to Baginbun Head which, as you may know, is the location of the second landing of the #Normans in 1170. It is also where most of my second novel, Lord of the Sea Castle, takes place.
On the way I passed through the town of Fethard-on-Sea and thought that I'd pull in and shoot a short video of the place where Raymond de Carew, the hero of the story, and Ragnall, King of #Waterford, meet for a conference before battle.
Unfortunately, I was, by that time, addled by the sunshine and got myself a bit turned around! Hope you enjoy the video nonetheless!

The Fethard-on-Sea boycott was a controversy involving Sean and Sheila Cloney, a married couple from the village of Fethard-on-Sea, County Wexford, Ireland. It led to a sectarian boycott led by the local Catholic priest of some members of the local Protestant community in 1957.
