20 Things to do in Florence, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (FIRENZE)
Florence: when it comes to Renaissance art, there’s probably no better city in the world to soak it all in!
Our time here was spent viewing works by Italian masters both in museums and public spaces, marvelling at the architecture - in particular Florence Cathedral and its massive dome, going in search of the best lookout points, and eating plenty of pizza & gelato sharing the best things to do in Florence on your visit.
We paid 15 Euros for a ticket that gave us access to 5 attractions associated with Florence Cathedral. Giotto’s Campanile, the bell tower stands 84.7 metres with 414 steps.
We made our way over to our next attraction: the Baptistry. Known as both the Florence Baptistry and the Baptistry of Saint John.
We continued to Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, which is a museum dedicated to conserving artworks relating to Florence Cathedral.
It was time to climb the dome of Florence Cathedral. We ate our gelato at Grom and it was delicious.
The Uffizi Gallery is considered one of the best museums in the world focusing on the Italian Renaissance. Most of the art collection you see today was gifted to the city of Florence by Anna Maria Luisa, the last Medici heiress.
From Uffizi Gallery you get some pretty cool views of Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River from a higher vantage point.
We visited in Florence was Piazza della Signoria, an L-shaped square right in the heart of the city. A landmark in this square is Palazzo Vecchio or the Town Hall. And to the right of this building, you have the Loggia dei Lanzi.
Speaking of David, we did find him, over at Galleria dell’Accademia. Michelangelo’s David depicts the Biblical David carved out of a single block of marble.
Ponte Vecchia during the 16th century that one of the Medici ordered for the butcher shops to be replaced with jewellers.
When it comes to sunset in Florence, there are no better views than from Piazzale Michelangelo overlooking the historic center on the other side of the Arno River.
This indoor market is foodie central with the second floor of the market is filled with eateries. Central Market is a great place to pick up ingredients to bring back to your kitchen.
We hope you enjoyed this Florence travel guide and that it gave you ideas of things to do.
This is part of our Travel in Italy video series showcasing Italian food, Italian culture and Italian cuisine.

Italian Cooking Class at a farmhouse in Tuscany - BEST experience EVER! | Italy Travel Vlog
We attended an Italian Pizza and Gelato Cooking Class in a farmhouse in Tuscany!
It was soooo much fun, we would definitely do it again in a heartbeat. Never thought making an authentic Napoli pizza was this simple and easy as long as you know the right techniques! BUT maybe except when it's about time to throw the dough up in the air?
We received a Certificate of Participation right after the class from Walkabout Florence and a few days after also received an email with the Pizza & Gelato recipes attached to it. Definitely an experience we will never forget!

How to Make the OriGINal Negroni: In Florence, Italy
For more videos visit: wineoh.tv. Watch how to make a Negroni in the town where it all started: Florence, Italy at the bar that gave it birth: Caffè Cassoni, which is now called Cavalli Cafe (Yes, as in the famous clothing designer).
Ingredients: Gin, Vermouth and Campari. Equal portions over ice and garnished with half a slice of orange.
Founder and host of Wine Oh TV Monique Soltani has announced an upcoming video series based on her recent trip to Italy. Soltani was part of a group of wine experts and bloggers who were invited to attend the Chianti Classico Experience. The Chianti Classico Experience is 10 days of wine and food events, seminars, tastings, excursions, and games to get acquainted with Chianti Classico producers and their beautiful territory!
During the five-day adventure, Soltani toured many villages, wineries, and restaurants to report on a series of festivals in the Chianti Classico wine region. The new video series will cover Soltani's visits to many events located in the scenic, rolling hills of rural Tuscany.
Soltani attended wine tasting events and festivals, and visited restaurants in the villages of Radda, San Leonino, and Greve in Chianti, among others. Viewers of the video series will experience the unique flavors of the wine, food, and culture of one of the most beautiful regions of Italy, as well as learn about the many producers of Chianti Classico wines. Soltani's Chianti Classico experience included a visit to the new Antinori Winery in Chianti Classico, getting up-close and personal with the Mazzei Family at Castello di Fonterutoli, and dining with Mr. Meat himself, Dario Cecchini, also known as The Butcher. Cecchini is famous for his butchery and theatrics in his own right, but he is also renowned for mentoring Star Chef Mario Batali as well as Batali's father.
Chianti Classico and Chianti are, in fact, two very different wines. Chianti Classico wines are made almost exclusively from grapes of the Sangiovese variety and must be produced using certain methods within the Chianti Classico DOCG, or legally-controlled geographic area of production. If more than 10 percent of a wine includes anything besides Sangiovese grapes, it may not be called Chianti Classico. Chianti Classico can be easily spotted by the iconic Black Rooster on every bottle, which is the trademark of the Chianti Classico DOCG.
Pizza Making Class
While in Italy, we took a pizza + gelato making class with the Food + Wine Academy of Florence! We've made our own pizza at home forever, but never our own dough! We had a couple of struggles here + there, but over all, it was pretty easy! :)
If you ever find yourself in Florence, I highly suggest signing up for one of their classes!
Duomo You Di'innnt || Florence
Oh, Firenze... You stunning, mesmerizing, enchanting masterpiece. With your pizza and your Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. What a jerk.
Like old stuff? There are 72 museums full of fancy and famous old things. And you know... the city itself. Solo traveling? Go on a wine tour. Florence is a bus ride away from the Chianti region and alcohol takes a lot of the work and awkward out of forging friendships. Need to work off that gelato (or 12) you ate the other day? Take a hike up the 414 stairs of Giotto's Bell Tower and get a picture perfect view of the duomo. And then go get another gelato.
