Best Views of George Washington Bridge - Fort Lee Historic Park
For the best views of George Washington Bridge check out the small little park called Fort Lee Historic Park in Fort Lee NJ. It also has a small museum and grounds w/ canons, old bunkers and lots of preserved history to enjoy. My 4 year old loved it, a history buff would appreciate it even more.

Edgewater is a borough located along the Hudson River in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough had a population of 11,513,[10][11][12] reflecting an increase of 3,836 (+50.0%) from the 7,677 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,676 (+53.5%) from the 5,001 counted in the 1990 Census.[21]
The borough's history has featured the founding of the first colony in Bergen County, contribution to the Revolutionary War, a period as a sleepy, pastoral little town[22] with resort hotels in the 19th century,[23] industrialization in the early 20th century, and a transition to a rapidly growing residential community in the late 20th century.[24]
Edgewater was incorporated as a municipality on December 7, 1894, from portions of Ridgefield Township as the Borough of Undercliff, based on the results of a referendum that passed two days earlier.[25] The borough was formed during the Boroughitis phenomenon then sweeping through Bergen County, in which 26 boroughs were formed in the county in 1894 alone.[26] The borough's name was changed to Edgewater on November 8, 1899.[25][27] The borough was named for its location on the Hudson River

Climbing Carpenter's Trail Palisades Interstate Park Fort Lee, NJ
Carpenter's Trail (aka The Thousand Stairs) in the Fort Lee, NJ section of Palisades Interstate Park is a 300 foot stair climb that connects Shore Trail which runs along the banks of the Hudson River and The Long Path which is a a 347.4 mile trail which runs from Fort Lee, NJ along the top of the Palisades all the way to Altamont, NY.
Carpenter's Trail was created in the late nineteenth century as part of the Carpenter Brothers' Quarry. The quarry was one of the most destructive of the Palisades quarries. Concerns that the quarries were destroying the natural beauty of the Palisades led to the creation of the Palisades Interstate Park. Today it is one of the more popular trails in the park.
I recorded my last climb up Carpenter's Trail after a hike/jog along Shore Trail. These past few months I haven't had time to stay active so I tried to keep my heart rate relatively low. Going up the stairs at a faster pace it's easy to turn it into a zone 4 or zone 5 workout.

Defending the Blockhouse - Fort Lee Reenactment, 2019
Fort Lee Historic Park is a small site that rests in the shadow of the George Washington Bridge. Despite its small size, the park boasts a number of stand-out features, the most prominent of which being a recreated two-story Revolutionary War-era blockhouse. During the BAR's annual Retreat to Victory event at the site, Continental and Crown forces take turns attacking and defending this blockhouse on alternating years. This year, it was the Crown Forces' turn to defend.
For this video, I did something similar to what I did at Stony Point earlier this year- placing my camera on a nearby bench, facing the blockhouse to record some of the action. Unfortunately the recording cut out before our eventual surrender, so I don't have footage of that, but what I do have is a solid ten minutes of footage that shows us and some men from the 22nd Regiment putting up a spirited defense of the blockhouse as the rebels slowly close in.
Enjoy!
