Friends of the Indiana Theater Raise Money To Save Old Washington Theater
The Friends of the Indiana Theater held a fundraiser Saturday to help raise money to save the old Indiana Theatre. The block party consisted of entertainment, bake sale, silent auction, face painting, and lots of food.
Holly Dyer says the mission of the not-for-profit is to reopening the historic Main Street building as a public house to provide a venue for live entertainment in the form of musical performances, stage plays, informal dining, training facility, exposition center, and or public meeting place.
The more general mission is to promote downtown Washington, its businesses, culture, and the rich historical heritage of Washington.
Hometown Reporter Chris Richardson was in Washington Saturday and filed this report.
