Top 4 things to do in Haus Khas Village, Delhi
Situated in South Delhi, Hauz Khas is a place whose heart lies in Hauz khas Complex. If I say, then it is a must to visit place, at least once in a lifetime. This is a place where you can get loads of joy, sightseeing (viz. 13th century India) and never ending masti. If we try to break up the words then, “Hauz” means “lake” and “khas” means “Royal” and thus, by combining them we get “Royal Lake” which is the true essence of the word “Hauz Khas”.
STRUCTURE
The Hauz Khas complex houses a tomb, a water tank, an Islamic Seminary, a Mosque and pavilions built around the urbanized village. It is a place which everybody likes to visit over and again. The notable structures built by Firuz Shah on the eastern and northern side of the reservoir consisted of the Madrasa, the small Mosque, the Main tomb for himself and six domed pavilions in its precincts, which were all built between 1352 and 1354 A.D. It is the best place to see the legacy of the Mughal Empire.
EATERIES
This place is a must to visit place for young guns. Yes, the food quality is awesome. It is good and decently priced with lot of options to choose from. The Strawberry Cheesecake shake and the Mudpot shake are also nice. In my point of view, this is the best place to hangout in Delhi. Enriched with a lot of local and International food and retail brands this is a perfect place for shopping and fooding in south Delhi.
HOW TO REACH
For the delhites it’s easier to reach there. They just simply can book a taxi or a bus or a rickshaw (if live in vicinity), to reach this wonderful place. For the rest of the people who live outside Delhi can reach there by travelling in metro and reaching “Hauz Khas Metro Station”. After reaching the station it’s just hardly 5-7 min walking distance. For International visitors- The domestic terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 1) is 11 kilometers from Hauz Khas while the international terminal (Terminal 3) is 16 kilometers. If you want to travel by train then, Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station lies 8 kilometers away.
FOR VISITORS
The complex is open for visitors all days of the week from 10 AM to 6 PM and there is no entry fee. The Deer Park at the entry to the tank is a beautifully landscaped lush green park where spotted Deers, peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs and variety of birds around the tank could be seen. The Ministry of Tourism of Government of India is in the process of setting up India's first night bazaar at Hauz Khas to be called the Eco Night Bazaar.

This tour - Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi
Hauz Khas village is a historic habitation around the region of the Hauz Khas Complex, dating to much before establishment of South Delhi city. It existed as an urban village at the edge of larger Hauz Khas area, developed by DLF after the 1960s. The village area started getting modernized in mid-1980s when designer boutiques of fashion designer like Bina Ramani, started moving in. Then, in the late 1990s restaurants started coming up in the area, today it has around 50 restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes.
The success of Hauz Khas village has led to the development of Shahpur Jat and Lado Sarai as fashion and design markets also in the South Delhi area.

In this video, I have explored Hauz Khas village which is one of my most favourite hangout places in Delhi. Hauz khas village is famous for its pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes etc. This place in South Delhi is famous among the party lovers. However, there are many other things you can do at Hauz khas village other than partying. I love visiting to Hauz Khas Village for the quirky boutiques, home décor shops, and to spend time at the Hauz Khas Fort. Hauz khas fort is one of the monuments in the capital city of India and this fort is located at Hauz Khas, South Delhi. It is a perfect hangout place for college friends, and so for quick family outings. I also love Kunzum Travel café at Hauz Khas Village aka HKV. This one café should be every traveller’s destination in Delhi. Many travellers come to this café and share their travel stories with others over a cup of coffee.
