Old Home Movie (silent) near Council Bluffs, IA
Two reels of 8mm film were recently found tucked away in an old Benos Department store paper bag. They were nested far up on the top shelf in the master bedroom closest in the past homestead of the late Frank and Lenelda Perry Family (near McClelland, IA). The video is footage of one or two picnics that appear to have taken place at a park(s), a colt on a country road and a dressed up special occasion of some sort. Footage could be from around the mid to late 1940's. We do not recognize any of the folks on the video, but someone might. A car is seen in the video that says Strohbehn Studio - Council Bluffs, Iowa on the driver's side door (I took this as being a photographer's car and did find some archive newspapers on the web that mention a Don Strohbehn as a photographer for the Daily Nonpareil during the mid/late 40's - not sure if this is a person involved in this video by appearance, shooting it or maybe not at all). We hope someone out there is touched with fond sentiment from these old reels. NOTE: Video has lost a bit of its resolution upon upload to YouTube. I can try to burn additional DVD's for interested parties.

A Tour Of Edinburgh Manor (the most haunted location in Iowa)
So, last night, me, my mom, my little sister, my little sister's friend, and one of my mom's friends, stayed the night here at Edinburgh Manor. We were all locked in there from 6:00pm to 10:00am. It was by far one of the most creepy experiences I've had in my entire life. Edinburgh Manor is the most haunted location in the state of Iowa. It has over eighty reported deaths. Before it was an insane asylum, it was a poor farm. The asylum has been around since the nineteen fifties and closed in 2010 and re-opened for ghost investigations in 2012.
LAST SQUIRREL JAIL IN USA | COUNCIL BLUFFS IOWA
As we leave Omaha, Nebraska we stop off in Downtown for a quick wander around, before we cross the state line into Iowa to visit the town of Council Bluffs. Here we visit the squirrel jail, one of only 3 jails of it's type in the United States, where the entire jail is controlled by just one guard. We then check out the free Union Pacific railroad museum detailing the history of the railroad in the US.
