The number of technology and scholarly institutions around Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham make the area known as the Research Triangle. The North Carolina State Capitol is a 19th-century Greek Revival–style building with a statue of George Washington dressed as a Roman general in its rotunda.

In the 2000s, an effort by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance was made to separate this area of the city into five smaller districts: Fayetteville Street, Moore Square, Glenwood South, Warehouse (Raleigh), and Capital District (Raleigh). Some of the names have become common place among locals such as the Warehouse, Fayetteville Street, and Glenwood South Districts.

Midtown Raleigh is a residential and commercial area just North of the I-440 Beltline and is part of North Raleigh. It is roughly framed by Glenwood/Creedmoor Road to the West, Wake Forest Road to the East, and Millbrook Road to the North. It includes shopping centers such as North Hills and Crabtree Valley Mall. It also includes North Hills Park and part of the Raleigh Greenway System. The term was coined by the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, developer John Kane and planning director Mitchell Silver. The News & Observer newspaper started using the term for marketing purposes only. The Midtown Raleigh Alliance was founded on July 25, 2011 as a way for community leaders to promote the area.
Southeast Raleigh is bounded by downtown on the west, Garner on the southwest, and rural Wake County to the southeast. The area includes areas along Rock Quarry Road, Poole Road, and New Bern Avenue. Primary neighborhoods include Chastain, Chavis Heights, Raleigh Country Club, Southgate, Kingwood Forest, Rochester Heights, Emerald Village and Biltmore Hills. Coastal Credit Union Music Park (formerly Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, Alltel Pavilion and Walnut Creek Amphitheatre) is one of the region's major outdoor concert venues and is located on Rock Quarry Road. In cities and towns across the United States, master planned communities are becoming more and more common. Communities with master plans in place before any permanent construction occurs are able to reserve the best sites for public use. Parks, schools and traffic routes are situated to benefit the entire community.
A Planned Community
Extra land may be set aside to allow for growth and other changes. Communities with master plans have higher standards for housing developments. A master planned community may be anchored by an exclusive club, a nature preserve, or a special district such as an historic district. A master planned community can also be publicly funded by a government using taxpayer funds.
Publicly funded master planned communities tend to embrace more of the population and consider larger issues such as the air quality of a region if it is possible. Some master planned communities integrate exclusive private clubs and adjoining developments with public services such as transportation and community centers that belong to the community at large.
Master planned communities that work as a team with cities and counties often result in the highest quality of life for all concerned. Brier Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina is an excellent example of one of these communities.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:

- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain

SUMMARY
=======
Raleigh (; RAH-lee) is the capital of the state of North Carolina and the seat of Wake County in the United States. Raleigh is the second-largest city in the state, after Charlotte. Raleigh is known as the City of Oaks for its many oak trees, which line the streets in the heart of the city. The city covers a land area of 142.8 square miles (370 km2). The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the city's population as 479,332 as of July 1, 2018. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The city of Raleigh is named after Sir Walter Raleigh, who established the lost Roanoke Colony in present-day Dare County.
Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University (NC State) and is part of Research Triangle Park (RTP), together with Durham (home of Duke University and North Carolina Central University) and Chapel Hill (home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). The Triangle nickname originated after the 1959 creation of the Research Triangle Park, located in Durham and Wake counties, among the three cities and their universities. The Research Triangle region encompasses the U.S. Census Bureau's Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Combined Statistical Area (CSA), which had an estimated population of 2,037,430 in 2013. The Raleigh metropolitan statistical area had an estimated population of 1,214,516 in 2013.
Most of Raleigh is located within Wake County, with a very small portion extending into Durham County. The towns of Cary, Morrisville, Garner, Clayton, Wake Forest, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, and Rolesville are some of Raleigh's primary nearby suburbs and satellite towns.
Raleigh is an early example in the United States of a planned city. Following the American Revolutionary War when the US gained independence, this was chosen as the site of the state capital ...

Greensboro is a city in North Carolina. The Greensboro Science Center houses red pandas, sharks and a hands-on museum. Nearby, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park has displays on the American Revolution. Video re-enactments and interactive exhibits trace the civil rights struggle at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum. The Bog Garden is a wetlands area with flowers, birds and an elevated boardwalk.
In 1808, Greensborough (the spelling before 1895) was planned around a central courthouse square to succeed Guilford Court House as the county seat. The county courts were thus placed closer to the geographical center of the county, a location more easily reached at the time by the majority of the county's citizens, who depended on horse and foot for travel. It is named after Nathanael Greene, a Patriot general who fought a battle here during the Revolutionary War. Population is about 250,000. The famous author William Sydney Porter, better known as O. Henry, was born here. It can be sleepy and genteel but is enjoying a newfound reputation as a great place for young people. Downtown especially is experiencing a surfeit of bars, music venues and restaurants.
Among Greensboro's many notable attractions, some of the most popular include the Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe water park, the Greensboro Science Center, the International Civil Rights Museum, the Weatherspoon Art Museum, the Greensboro Symphony, the Greensboro Ballet, Triad Stage, the Wyndham Golf Championship, the headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex which hosts various sporting events, concerts, and other events, the Greensboro Grasshoppers of the South Atlantic Baseball League, the Carolina Dynamo of the Premier Development Soccer League, the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, the Greensboro Roller Derby, and the National Folk Festival.
Greensboro is located among the rolling hills of North Carolina's Piedmont, situated midway between the state's Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains to the west and the Atlantic beaches and Outer Banks to the east. The view of the city from its highest building—the Lincoln Financial tower (commonly known as the Jefferson-Pilot Building after its previous owner)—shows an expanse of shade trees in the city. Downtown Greensboro has attracted development investment in recent years with such new construction as Yadkin Bank Park, and residential and offices. The Southside neighborhood downtown exemplifies central-city reinvestment. The Four Seasons Town Centre is a three-story shopping mall with 1,141,000 square feet (106,000 m2) of shopping space. The Greensboro Coliseum is located at 1921 W. Gate City Boulevard. This multi-purpose complex consists of the 22,000-seat Greensboro Coliseum.

AVI Systems | Case Study | The North Dakota Heritage Center and Museum prioritizes security
The North Dakota Heritage Center and Museum features numerous exhibits that contain unique artifacts that were excavated from the Earth. It's a place where people can learn about early civilization, dinosaurs, and more.
(The museum's website:
With so many irreplaceable items stored and on display at the heritage center, security plays an important role in safeguarding the exhibits.
David Schecht, a security officer at the heritage center, said that the museum has over 120 cameras throughout the facility, along with different security features like facial recognition and fingerprint scanners.
You can’t put a monetary value on something that you can’t replace, he said. You can’t go out and buy anything that is in the galleries that have been found in the Earth from previous civilizations or previous life that has lived on this Earth.

700 Pound Snake Pulled out of Lake in North Carolina
Giant 700 pound snake caught in lake in Proctor, North Carolina. The giant man eating python was measured at 98 feet long. Police were contacted to see if there have been any recently filed missing person reports as a snake this big could have surely eaten a human.
This giant snake is massive and just gorgeous, but it didn't take long to find out that the STORY behind it... was fake, just another hoax.
While the image is indeed real, I think the size of the giant snake could have been exaggerated due to the camera angle
Nevertheless, this snake is still huge, but where did it come from? The markings on it's skin looks similar to that of a reticulated python native to Southeast Asia. After playing around with a little Google translate, the mystery was finally solved.
This giant python came from Indonesia and after some rough translating, it turns out that it was discovered this last Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City. It was found by accident by a group of construction workers who severely injured the reptile while knocking down a large dead tree in which the python was sleeping inside of. The workers put the dying snake out of it's misery and buried it.
It's sad to see such an incredible animal killed, especially one that could have been a new world record size. I wish there were more pictures so we could get a better idea of just how large it was.
I really enjoyed learning about this amazing snake, if you guys have any cool wildlife stories or interesting animals that you think I might enjoy, tell me about it on Facebook

The Worlds Edge, Polk County, NC, with Steve Marlowe
By the Eastern Continental Divide, on the Blue Wall escarpement running through northern Polk County, North Carolina near Lake Lure, is the World's Edge - a view point and gathering spot for generations, 1,500 feet above the valley floor.
Steve Marlowe's ancesters lived on these slopes and bottoms - he and his cousins roamed all over these hills.
As we walk the rugged cliffs and enjoy the beautiful scenery, Steve recalls some history, lore and legend.
Looking north towards Lake Lure and Chimney Rock,we then walk on the old wagon road route from Polk Co.(at old Bailytown) up to Edneyville and Hendersonville.
