Elephant Trekking Krabi |Ao Nang Krabi Safari | Huay Tho Waterfall Safari
WATCH IN HD
Mather & Brown Travel takes you on an Elephant adventure.
We visited two Elephant camps as we wanted to see how the Elephants were treated at different establishments.
First we went to Ao Nang Krabi Safari, we do NOT recommend this at all. We were saddened by the way the mahouts treated the elephants.
The Place to go to is Huay Tho Waterfall Safari, which is supported by the Asian Elephant foundation of Thailand. Here they treat the Elephants as they are family. They are well looked after in a rich green environment.

Krabi Things To Do? Huay Toh Waterfall! (Krabi, Thailand)
Krabi Thailand Waterfall called Huay Toh.
Khao Phanom Bencha National park is the site of this cool waterfall and jungle trek, complete with viewpoint and another, smaller water fall.
Price to get in is currently just 100 THB for foreigners and 20 THB for Thais. If there are only Thais entering the park - it is free. Once a foreigner is seen - the entire group gets charged. Go figure, right? Such is life in Thailand. It has been like this all 7 years I've been here.
Huay Toh waterfall is a multi-tiered waterfall located about 27 kilometers outside Krabi town at the western base of Khao Phanom Bencha mountain peak.
The park is quite amazing, and the waterfall is worth the walk. I say in the video it's about 350m, but maybe the walk is more like 450 meters to reach the falls.
The water is clean and you can swim in the various pools. The falls are seen here on November 14th. We haven't had a good rain in about 2 weeks prior, so you can see - there is still enough water to make it worthwhile. During the height of the dry season the water is considerably less - and maybe not worth visiting this attraction during that time.
I apologize for the bouncy video. I thought the vibration reduction worked better than it shows here. I'll concentrate more on keeping steady videos from now on.

Beautiful National Park in Krabi Thailand: Thanbok Khoranee National Park อุทยานแห่งชาติธารโบกขรณี
New Thailand videos every Wednesday. Subscribe: Thanbok Khoranee National Park in Ao Leuk, Krabi Thailand, is a beautiful national park with a variety of attractions including walking trails, waterfalls and lots of places where you can swim. Thanbok Khoranee National Park (also sometimes spelled Than Bok Khorani and Than Bokoranee) or in Thai อุทยานแห่งชาติธารโบกขรณี is in Ao Leuk, Krabi, Thailand and is 48km from Krabi Town and 60km from Ao Nang or 2 hours from Phuket. It's a great place for a relaxed day out and a picnic. It's not really on the tourist map (I haven't seen any other Westerners there when I've been), but you can get tours to there from Ao Nang and Krabi Town. It is definitely worth a look when you travel Thailand and there's plenty of other things to see around Ao Leuk including mangrove forests, caves with prehistoric paintings, islands, snorkelling and kayaking. You can get more information at the Thanbok Khoranee National Park Visitor Centre or on telephone number 0 7568 1071, 0 7568 2058 or at dnp.go.th One of the best things to do in Krabi Thailand and one of the many beautiful national parks in Thailand.

Huay Toh waterfall is part of the Khao Phanom Bencha national park in Krabi. Khao Phanom is a 4000+ feet mountain that feeds the stream that forms this waterfall. Hiking is available to the peak – but only during the dry season from Jan to April. Problem is – it’s also the hot season and that’s quite a climb!
Huay Toh is at it’s most beautiful during the rainy season. If you come between August and October you’ll probably see it at it’s best. During the other months it’s also quite nice because it’s quiet and you can swim in one of the nice pools of water that collect. There are a number of levels to the waterfall. Some say 11 levels to this falls. I’m not sure that could be correct. I have climbed up to 3 levels. I was at what I assumed was the top but some locals told me there were many more levels after a hike through the jungle. I set off hiking – but never found the other levels. So, stop at 3 unless you’re really feeling adventurous. I couldn’t even find a path after a while!

EMERALD POOL IN KRABI, THAILAND! Seriously GORGEOUS!!
#EMERALD_POOL #KRABI #THAILAND
Krabi Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot) is a unique attraction in southern Thailand. Krabi is well-known for areas of outstanding natural beauty and one place that should make your must-see list is the Emerald Pool in the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park, an unusual lowland forest rich in bio-diversity, complete with a nature trail and a crystal pond. Located in the Khao Pra-Bang Kram area, the nature trek is a superb place to spot rare animals and plant species including the Pitta Gurney bird which was once considered extinct. The forest is lush with age-old trees stretching up to the sky, unusual forest creatures and limestone foothills that open onto a dazzling emerald pool.
Thung Teao Forest National Park is a virgin rainforest home to spectacular flora and fauna unseen elsewhere in Thailand. A 2.7 kilometres nature trail provides a superb vantage point, plus there’s a waterfall to explore, although the major attraction is the emerald pool also known as the crystal pool. The emerald waters are wonderfully warm and crystal clear making them great for swimming in, there’s even a small ladder to help you get in and out. It’s a stunning eco-tourist spot with visually beautiful aquamarine colours surrounded by tropical rain forest and a fantastic spot for bird watchers. The journey to the emerald pool begins at the wildlife sanctuary office and takes around 800 metres through a well-trodden forest path or alternatively you can follow the longer nature trail which winds through spectacular tropical rain forest - one of the few remaining in Southern Thailand. The nature trek should be taken slowly so that you get a chance to see some of the very rare animals living in this ancient woodland.
Arrived at the poll you have the opportunity to refresh yourself. The Emerald Pool is around 1-2 meters deep so if you feel like bathing you should definitely go for it. The ambience of the pool is really beautiful and photographers will love it there. Since the limestone rocks are very slippery, you should be careful when entering the waters. Wearing bathing shoes is recommended.
How to get there:
Excursions to the Emerald Pool are offered by many travel agencies in Krabi Town, Ao Nang and Klong Muang Beach or else you do have the chance to book your favorite trip online. The tour usually includes pick up from the hotel, lunch and a visit to the Hot Springs and Tiger Cave Temple. We booked our day trip with Andaman Islands Tours and Travels.
Andaman FB Page:
Transport to the Emerald Pools can also be organized on your own. A taxi from Krabi Town to the National Park and returns costs around 1,800 baht and can be shared with multiple passengers. The drive to the national park takes about 1 hour (60 kilometers). To escape the tourist crowds set up your timings early. To make sure that you will have this beautiful scenery almost for yourself, you should start your trip in the morning (7:00 clock). If you still haven`t had enough from sightseeing you should visit the Tiger Cave Temple on your way back to Krabi.
Accommodations
Many are wondering where to stay for a trip to the Emerald Pool. Here are the accommodations, which we love to recommend you, and which are ideally suited as a starting point:
Krabi Town: The city of Krabi Town is with 60 kilometers the closest to the Emerald Pool and therefore the best starting point for excursions to this natural wonder. Here we can recommend the Family Tree Hotel – a boutique hotel in the middle of the old town. As a budget alternative for backpackers, the Sleep Well Hostel is one of the best backpacker choices in Krabi Town.
Ao Nang: A popular vacation spot and a good starting point for exploring the Krabi area. Ao Nang is located approximately 70 kilometers from the Emerald Pool and here you will find a huge variety of accommodation. Especially nice is the Holiday Inn Resort Krabi. This lovely hotel is located right on the white sandy beach of Ao Nang. Backpackers love to stay at the TAN Hostel x Cafe – cozy ambience, comfortable beds and delicious breakfast, what more could you ask for. we were in Hotel Alisa Ao Nang. This hotel is very close to everything and it has nice big rooms compared to the room rent.
