Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

STORYLINE
Chinese President Xi Jinping received the keys to the city of San Jose during an official visit to Costa Rica on Monday.
Xi, accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan, was awarded the keys to the city by Mayor of San Jose Jhony Araya Monge.
Costa Rica is the only Central American country that has diplomatic relations with China, the world's second-largest economy and has been rewarded with projects and visits by two sitting Chinese presidents since it first recognised the Asian giant over Taiwan in 2007.
Also on Monday, Xi visited the home of a Costa Rican coffee-growing family, who have over 30 years experience of growing coffee beans.
Xi and his wife took a tour of their home in Santo Domingo de Heredia and inspected the coffee plants before sitting down to share a cup of coffee with the family.
Xi sampled a sweet pastry made by the family, which he shared with his wife.
The family were thrilled by the Chinese President's visit.
He liked it (the coffee) and he said he believes in a situation like ours of people from the countryside working the land and studying, thanks to God that he came here, said coffee-grower Marco Tulio Zamora.
Earlier on Monday, China and Costa Rica signed nine cooperation agreements totalling 1.5 (b) billion US Dollars that will provide resources for improving Costa Rican roads and public transit fleets, purchasing solar panels and the building of a new police school.
Xi arrived from Trinidad & Tobago, where he offered concessionary loans to nine Caribbean countries worth about three (b) billion US Dollars.
Xi on Tuesday travels to Mexico, where he has said he plans to discuss ways to increase Mexican exports to China.
He closes his trip with a visit to the United States later this week.

Victoria & Albert Museum Ceramics Gallery London August 2013
rrz518 visits the V&A ceramics gallery. This is the largest and most comprehensive ceramics and glass collection in the world, with over 80,000 objects from around the world. Every populated continent is represented.
Well represented in the collection is Meissen porcelain, from the first factory in Europe to discover the Chinese method of making porcelain. Among the finest examples are the Meissen Vulture from 1731 and the Möllendorff Dinner Service, designed in 1762 by Frederick II the Great. Ceramics from the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres are extensive, especially the from 18th and 19th centuries. The collection of 18th-century British porcelain is the largest and finest in the world. Examples from every factory are represented, the collections of Chelsea porcelain and Worcester Porcelain being especially fine. All the major 19th-century British factories are also represented. A major boost to the collections was the Salting Bequest made in 1909, which enriched the museum's stock of Chinese and Japanese ceramics. This bequest forms part of the finest collection of East Asian pottery and porcelain in the world, including Kakiemon ware.
Many famous potters, such as Josiah Wedgwood, William De Morgan and Bernard Leach as well as Mintons & Royal Doulton are represented in the collection. There is an extensive collection of Delftware produced in both Britain and Holland, which includes a circa 1695 flower pyramid over a metre in height. Bernard Palissy has several examples of his work in the collection including dishes, jugs and candlesticks. The largest objects in the collection are a series of elaborately ornamented ceramic stoves from the 16th and 17th centuries, made in Germany and Switzerland. There is an unrivalled collection of Italian maiolica and lustreware from Spain. The collection of Iznik pottery from Turkey is the largest in the world.

His Imperial Majesty Joshua Abraham Norton I was born between 1811 and 1818 in England. Records of his birth date vary considerably, but it’s likely that the latter date is the correct one. His family immigrated to South Africa when he was quite young, where his father headed a small Jewish community. As a young man, he initially attempted to run his own business in Cape Town but quickly went bankrupt and started working at his father’s ship chandlery instead.
