AMALFI COAST ROAD TRIP IN A VINTAGE CAR! - Hertz Selezione Italia
This month Lauren and I were invited out to Italy by Hertz to test drive the Fiat 500 Jolly “Spiaggina” Icon E along the Amalfi coast for 3 days. We filmed the whole thing and put together this little montage to give you a glimpse of our mini Italian road trip!
These vintage cars have been fully refurbished and customised by Garage Italia to not only look amazing, but to also have an electric engine. These exact cars are now available to rent through Hertz Italia so you can do this same trip too!
Hope you enjoy!

Driving in Italy - Italy 2014
Filmed on a recent visit to Italy to visit Mount Etna!
Mount Etna (Italian: Etna, Sicilian: Mungibeddu or 'a Muntagna, Latin: Aetna) is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, close to Messina and Catania. It lies above the convergent plate margin between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate. It is the tallest active volcano on the European continent, currently 3,329 m (10,922 ft) high, though this varies with summit eruptions. It is the highest mountain in Italy south of the Alps. Etna covers an area of 1,190 km2 (459 sq mi) with a basal circumference of 140 km. This makes it by far the largest of the three active volcanoes in Italy, being about two and a half times the height of the next largest, Mount Vesuvius. Only Mount Teide in Tenerife surpasses it in the whole of the European--North-African region. In Greek Mythology, the deadly monster Typhon was trapped under this mountain by Zeus, the god of the sky and thunder and king of gods, and the forges of Hephaestus were said to also be located underneath it.

Most beautiful AMALFI COAST
Amalfi Coast
From many parts of Europe I have been, I think Italy is the most beautiful country in Europe. From north to south, from east to west, after driving a few hours, the landscape changes. From Dolomites, the most beautiful part of the Alps, to the south, the historic towns of Sicily and from the Cinque Terre of the west, to Bari in the east, driving around, you will pass through many different and interesting part of this beautiful country. Italy has the most beautiful lake, the most beautiful part of the alps, the most beautiful coast towns, the most beautiful islands and on and on...
I would say: The Roman was a great nation and so has been their country.
Amalfi coast, a few hours driving from Rome airport. Along the coast, there are these little fishing towns sticking to the wall of the cliff. Arriving in Sorrento, the beginning of the Amalfi, where we stayed. From Sorrento, driving to Rafello. The town Rafello is located on the cliff overlooking the sea. You need to climb the stairs to get to the town square. Cars need to be parked down the hill. From the town square, take around 10 minutes walking to get to the beautiful Villa Cimbrone, where this video clip get started after stopping by at Grotta Dello Smeraldo ( the blue lagoon in the cave down the road). in this magnificently built garden in Cimbrone, one would wonder, how much efforts the builder has put to build this beautiful villa with all it’s garden accessories in the past on such an altitude. I would call it *garden in the sky*.
On the way back, stop by at the Town Amalfi, which I think is magnificent fishing town. Stop by at Furore, the beach with it’s arch under the bridge that looks stunning. Spending the evening waiting for the sunset in Positano.
The day was long during the month of June. It took awhile to wait for the sunset for pictures taken. Rushing back to Sorrento immediately after dinner in Positano. The road unwinds in the slopes of the mountain. Going up and down, driving in the dark in an unfamiliar place especially in the mountain next to the cliff without street light was once of the life experience you will never forget.
From Sorrento we took a boat to cross to the Capri Island in the next day, which the pics are compiled in another video clip. Spending half a day hiking in Termini. The most famous destination of Termini is Punta Campanella, the very tip of the Sorrento Peninsula. The hike descends to the remains of a Saracen watch tower and a modern lighthouse, perched on the rocky cliff above the sea. The panorama is breathtaking, reaching across the Gulf of Naples and out to Capri. from there, drove down the hill and go directly to fishing village Nerano on the quiet beach overlooking the water to have the wonderful Italian dinner with it’s famous antipasti.
You need at least 1 week to explore the beautiful Amalfi coast.
Torna A Surriento..., yes, I will be back to see you again Sorrento...
