Pluses:
This resort is well located for exploring Kakadu, after which the pool was most welcome. Breakfasts were included in our stay and were great! Evening meals in the restaurant were lovely also.
The staff is more than nice and helped me when I got sick. They were more than friendly. Good hotel if you want to visit the Kakadu Park.
Minuses:
The Crocodile seems a little dated and tired these days, but in the middle of Kakadu accommodation options are few.. We had to drag our cases up steep flights of stairs... not a pleasant experience.
The hotel is old. But good staff made it up. It needs a renovation.

It was originally built in 1982 as a closed town to house the community living at Jabiru East near the Ranger Uranium Mine eight kilometres away. Both the mine and the town are completely surrounded by Kakadu National Park. At the 2006 census, Jabiru had a population of 1,135 (Wp).
Apart from the Ranger mine, Jabiru's most notable industries are tourism (it is the commercial and accommodation hub of Kakadu National Park), and Aboriginal arts and culture.

Gunlom Falls ????- part of the Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory Australia
Travel to the Northern Territory most unique waterfall and endless plunge pool - Gunlom Falls. What a great day! Gunlom Falls is located in the Kakadu National Park, around 330 k from Darwin -and it was well worth the trip. While you are there make sure you enjoy the amazing Gunlom Falls infinity pool - its been carved out by nature over thousands of years. Gunlom Falls infinity pool is located at the top of the falls and is a challenging hike, but can be easily done. Once you get to the top the views are amazing and the water cool (temperature hit 37 deg when we were there) inside the infinity pool. Pack your picnic and eat on site (make sure you take your rubbish with you).
For a bit of fun we sent up the Phantom 3 Standard drone to truly capture the scenery - WOW!
We did try to get to Jim Jim falls but we ran out of time.
We also stopped at the entrance to the Kakadu National Park for a photo with the welcome sign - that was something we will treasure (we even snuck in a timelapse video as the sun was setting).
Dont just be an armchairtraveller. There is lots to do in the Top End of Australia so visit tourism Australia for more.

This video is about the scenic flight that I took at Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory in dry season a few years ago. Unfortunately the video quality is not that good as I was taking photos and let my friend take the video. He left the camcorder on the dash board and fell in sleep...yeah, in a scenic flight!

Kakadu National Park is 150 miles east of Darwin, in a region Australian’s fondly call, “The Top End.” World Heritage Listed, Kakadu, is almost half the size of Switzerland and is a geological, biological, and cultural wonderland.
The park is open year-round, but most visitors come from May to October, when most of the park’s roads are open. You’ll need to set aside a few days to fully explore Kakadu, and once there, the best way to experience the park is by off-road vehicle and on foot. The park has around 25 marked trails, from short walks to multi day hikes.
Two of the most popular walks include Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls. Here, at the end of forested gorges, are the sorts of places many dream about, but few will ever see. Another great place to cool off is Gunlom Falls, which offers crystal-clear swimming holes and views all the way to far-off Arnhem Land.
Kakadu is dotted with thousands of art sites, with some ancient galleries featuring paintings dating back over 20,000 years. The galleries at Nourlangie Rock and Ubirr are two of the most visited and feature incredibly well-preserved paintings depicting traditional legends and day-to-day life.
Take a cruise through the Yellow Water Billabong, and spot Jabiru, Magpie Geese and salt and fresh water crocodiles. Then finish your visit on a high by taking a chartered flight over the park for views you’ll remember forever.

From the Outback to Kakadu National Park. Australia
In Alice Spring I visit the Reptile Centre. I saw there for example the Horny devil and Saltwater Crocedile; both I didn't see in the wild on this trip. After that I took The Ghan and went in 15 hours to Katherine. It was wet there, but we made a nearly dry walk to a Rockhole in Nitmiluk National Park near to the Katherine river.
Next day we visit the wetlands with a boat in Kakadu National Park. It was already the wet season and the water was high so we didn't see crocediles, but there were enough bids and one snake. At Anbangbang in the shadow of the Nourlangie Rock's we had a look in a gallery of aboriginal rockpaintings; this was in a another part of Kakadu NP. Later we climbed on the rocks.

Kakadu National Park Australia, Nadab Lookout at Ubirr, amazing views across the floodplains.
I walk the track up to Nadab Lookout at Ubirr. The views from the Nadab Lookout are just amazing, looking out across the floodplains. Ubirr is approximately 40km from Jabiru along a good road. Ubirr is in the East Alligator region of Kakadu National Park, and is well know for its Aboriginal rock paintings or rock art site.
