The Flowermarket ( Amsterdam Bloemenmarkt ) is the world's only floating flower market, the flower market is one of Amsterdam’s most colourful attractions. It is located on Amsterdam Singel between Muntplein and Koningsplein. At the flower market you’ll find tulips of every colour, either in bouquets or as bulbs to plant at home, the flower market includes 15 florists and garden shops as well as a range of souvenir gifts. The Kalverstraat is a busy shopping street of Amsterdam with shops, stores, cafes and restaurants.
Kalverstraat Amsterdam
The Kalverstraat is a busy shopping street of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. It is named after the kalvermarkt (calves market) that was held here until the 17th century.
The Kalverstraat is the most expensive shopping street in the Netherlands, with rents of 2200 euros per square meter (2007).[1] In 2006 it was the 21st most expensive street in the world measured by rent prices.[2] The Kalverstraat is also the most expensive street in the Dutch version of Monopoly.
The street begins at Dam Square and ends roughly 750 meters down near the Munttoren tower at Muntplein square. This tower was once a gate in the medieval city walls. After the walls were built, the street between the Spui and Munttoren came to be known as Byndewyck. This part of the neighborhood, from 1486 until 1629, had a veemarkt (cattle market). Later on the street got the name Kalverstraat, after the cattle market.[3]
In 1345 a eucharistic miracle was said to have taken place in a home between the Kalverstraat in the Rokin. The event is commemorated by the annual Stille Omgang procession. A chapel, the Heilige Stede, was built on the spot where the miracle was said to have occurred. The Heiligeweg connected the Kalverstraat with this pilgrim chapel, and with Leidsestraat.
Painter Piet Mondrian lived at Kalverstraat 154 from 1892 to 1895. The first HEMA department store opened on the Kalverstraat in 1926. On May 7, 1945, drunk German soldiers shooting from the windows of a building at the corner of Kalverstraat and Dam square killed 19 civilians celebrating their liberation from the Nazis and the end of World War II. A fire in the Kalverstraat on May 9, 1977, claimed 33 deaths.

Also at management level this has consequences. Every day, thousands articles are appearing in the press about the horror of all horrors for managers of IT systems:,, BYOD''. These managers were faced with a management chaos in large part due to unbridled proliferation in Android systems and so forth.
Although the latest technology from Microsoft Systems Center 2012 can handle BYOD very nice, it remains a problem that some providers of such Android systems do not respect transparency in security field.
BYOD is then very soon:,,, Bring Your Own Devil in disguise''. The consistent policy of Microsoft to all platforms on all devices a common footing solves a lot of problems of this kind as a company opts for diversity in devices of the staff. The App Store Microsoft will contribute to enhanced security in a BYOD context. Bass Paumen explains among other things how Microsoft has taken a major step forward in terms of quality.

The time that the computer was a glorified typewriter is obviously definitely over. PC platforms, mobile devices and touch systems are also rapidly communication systems and here is the trend towards UC Unified Communication clearly present.
Windows 8 is fully prepared for new developments as Lynch 2013 and Office 2013. Again, the innovation does not stop. Skype for Windows 8 is an integral part of Microsoft's Unified Communication.
At the TechEd 2012 conference in Amsterdam Plantronics showed headsets well ahead of the simple earpiece paradigm. With the Windows SDK Plantronics is now possible to add 'presence' and 'proximity' to the enterprise.
Contextual intelligence
For example, you walk away from your notebook with your Plantronics headset on you and thanks to, Contextual Intelligence'' of Plantronics your notebook is starting to enter energy saving mode. That will be saving the world billions in energy costs, a welcome development. So, Windows 8 is part of an innovative ecosystem that is altering the face of computing dramatically..
Interoperability with third-party technologies is paramount and Contextual Intelligence initiatives and the enthusiastic support of (open source) Big Data systems like Hadoop in the Microsoft Azure cloud are just a few examples.
Availability
Windows 8 can be ordered from October 26 2012 in more than 140 countries and in more than 37 languages. The program is available in different versions, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro. From today Windows RT is also available. This version is particularly suitable for the lighter tablet with a long battery life, e.g. ARM devices.
Existing Windows 7 users can upgrade to Windows 8 for a special price of € 14.99. From today on Windows 8 ison sale for € 59.99 and € 29.99 for download. On 26 October, the Windows 8 Brand Store opened a temporary shop in the Kalverstraat 101 Amsterdam.

This shows our walk along Paleisstraat from Kalverstraat (where the Royal Palace begins) towards Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal on Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2016 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This area is adjacent to Dam Square and was filled with people on a warm July Sunday afternoon. Amsterdam is a fabulous place to walk and sightsee. The tram system was amazing. We should have made more use of it. We could have seen more and done more had we used the trams instead of just walking. But walking was nice just to see the streets and alleys.

This is just a casual walk around Amsterdam city centre, more specifically in Kalverstraat because we love to shop in that area and it is near the Flower Market which I always visit everytime I am in Amsterdam.
Kalverstraat is a long stretch of pedestrian shopping street in Amsterdam. If you feel like having a retail therapy then this is a good fix for you. There is Primark, Hema, The Kalverpassage (which is a small mall between Kalverstraat and Heiligeweg), H&M, Footlocker, Nike Sport, Albert Heijn, and many more! There are lots of food outlets, souvenir shops, and cheese shops.
Plenty of public transportation passes the main city centre and you can get off at either Damrak or in Rokin or just walk from Amsterdam Centraal because it's not very far.
It is open 7 days in a week too at certain timings.
This street is not only for adults but it's for everyone as there are plenty of shops and food outlets even kids will enjoy.
The other end of this passage leads toward the Floating Flower Market area so everything is really walk-able as soon as you are in the city centre. You can probably skip the tram ride if you feel like sightseeing on the side too!
