Ruins of Kashmiri Gate in Delhi
Ruins of northern gate to the walled city of Delhi constructed by Shah Jahan. In those days, the road from here led to Kashmir. The gate suffered much damage during the 1857 revolt. Today, the area is a major transport hub with Kashmiri Gate metro station and ISBT Bus Terminal located next to it.

Explained - India's National War Memorial
Almost 60 years since it was first proposed, India's National War Memorial was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25. The National War Memorial and Museum near India Gate will honour the sacrifice of 25,942 soldiers who died in the service of the nation since Independence. The memorial will be national centre for civilian engagement and reverence for the forces. This is India's first National War Memorial for the fallen soldiers in the 1962 war with China, the wars with Pakistan in 1947, 1965, 1971, and in Kargil in 1999, and in overseas operations such as those by the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka.
