I met a chimpanzee and was excited and headed for the second largest national park in Uganda. Located in Queen Ellajabes National Park, the equator. It is Queen Elizabeth National Park, a wildlife paradise and the pride of Uganda. It is a little bigger than Jeju Island, and there are many large and small lakes. It is also an ecological park designated by UNESCO because of the preservation of various flora and fauna. I met the children watching the hippo at the entrance of the village. I am more of a miracle than a hippopotamus. Like the calm lake, the daily life of the village was peaceful and calm. It is a cartwheed salt lake that seems to have tied various colored tiles. It is the largest salt production site in Uganda. When I found the salt lake, there were not many people working. It is said that because of the rain in the wet season, the concentration of salt in the lake is low and it does not work. On the contrary, there is a shortage of dry days in the dry season, so the children are busy to mobilize. In other parts of the world, many people gather here to make money. How much do you spend a day? 400 won, 500 won every day, but every day is different. Salt production in Lake Cartwheel has been around for 500 years. It is the determination of the sweat that a lot of workers have shed. The importance of salt lake can be said in three ways: the first is an important source of income for nearby villagers, the second is to improve the digestion capacity of the livestock through salt, to obtain better quality livestock, But taking the salt is dangerous enough to hurt the workers' body. It is about four times more salty than the sea. I feel the pain of the workers who have to take the risk and go to the salt lake for a living. Uganda is a paradise for birds, so you can easily meet hundreds of birds from any lake. Most of the birds that occupy this place are flamingos. It is not the main habitat, but it is said that the surrounding lake has moved to dry away in the drought. Salt Lake has become the best habitat for flamingos because of its abundant food and the reluctance of other animals to approach it.

Tradition Salt Mining at Lake Katwe, Queen Elizabeth National Park (Uganda)
The first early human settlements in and around Queen Elizabeth NP is believed to have had its origin around Mweya Peninsular and the two salt lakes. Communities developed on Mweya Peninsular as it was easy to guard against intruders in this region. On the other hand, settlements around Katwe and Bunyampaka lakes developed as a result of the salt trade.
Since education and discover are the key purposes of a traveler, the two salt-mining sites have lured millions of travelers since the time of the explorer Captain Lugard in 1891, the first European tourist to visit the region. The technology of mining and purifying salts in these two centers has not changed much over the generations. However, the local community has evolved over time, and now the youth, in order to earn a living, have commercialized these centers. They have formed community tour guides associations. They take tourists from one site to another, translating the various step involved.
Historically, the salt from Lake Katwe was the most important and prestigious item in the Kingdom of Bunyoro. That was the era when King Kabalega of Bunyoro was still ruling the land between River Nile in the north and Karagwe, Tanzania, in the south.

Locals poison Queen Elizabeth National Park lions
Officials at the Uganda Wildlife Authority have raised concern over the poisoning of wildlife by communities living near national parks. This according to the authority could lead to the rapid depletion of lions that are mostly targeted in the national parks and affect income earned from tourism which is the fastest growing sector of the economy. Francis Jjingo reports...

Observations and commentary of the creative methods and techniques of a renowned adventurer and National Geographic-published nature photographer looking for lions in the African bush. My friend and fearless photographer rides the running board (and roof) of the Land Cruiser whilst I remain safely inside, prepared to document his demise at the claws and teeth of a big cat, and if so, then later reflect on his life well-lived over a few G&Ts back at Mweya Safari Lodge. Filmed in the Katwe Explosion Craters in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda, August 2011.

#5 - Birds
Uganda is one of the most popular birding destinations in Africa. The country boasts 1061 species of birds a number of which are endemic. Given the concentration of so many bird species in the relatively small country of Uganda means that serious birders can travel to many birding locations throughout the country with relative ease in the attempt to check off as many species as possible and enjoy the scenic countryside along the way

#6 - Explosion Craters
There are a large number of extinct volcanoes known as explosion craters that dot the landscape of Western Uganda. The craters are concentrated in three areas, the Katwe Explosion Craters within the Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Bunyaraguru Crater Field near the Kichwamba escarpment and the Ndali-Kasenda Crater Field located near Kibale National Park. Many of the craters are home to freshwater lakes and in the Katwe area a couple craters have saline lakes. The explosion craters are very scenic and offer great views from the rim. The areas around the craters are generally lush and full of thriving vegetation. A wonder that has evolved from such violent beginnings

#7 - Lake Bunyonyi
In the south west of Uganda lies one of the deepest lakes in Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is Uganda's deepest lake at 2950+ feet (900+ metres) deep. The landscape around the lake is indicative of its depth with steep slopes covered with lush green vegetation protruding from the water's edge. Bunyonyi means place of many little birds and as the name suggests, there is plenty of bird life around the lake. The lake also plays host to freshwater crayfish, one of the few places in Uganda they can be found. With many resorts on the lake shores and on the many islands in the lake, there are plenty of spots to enjoy this beautiful lake from.
