Bahia Honda State Park Campground Tour, Florida Keys, Big Pine Key 4K
Tour of the Bahia Honda State Park Campgrounds:
We only spent a couple days at this state park in the keys compared to the 10 days we spent at Curry Hammock State Park. But it was still amazing.
From the water front spots to the long beaches to the old Bahia Honda bridge, this is a must see location in the Keys.
The majority of this video is a site to site detailed tour so you can truly see which one is right for you. We also show the amenities- such as the Marina, the Nature Center, the store, the old bridge, and where you can walk your dogs (they have a lot of rules against dogs).

Big Pine & The Lower Keys - The Natural Keys
If you've had enough of an overcrowded and weary world, the islands of the Lower Keys are the place for you.
Here, you can snorkel or dive over the Looe Key coral reef, ride a bicycle through Key Deer country, or take a fishing adventure in the back country or troll the deep blue waters beyond the reef.
At the end of the day, you can trade stories with family and friends at one of this area's tiki bars, RV parks, campgrounds, quaint resorts or licensed vacation homes. The Earthy fragrance of mangrove forests and wetlands is never far away.
The Lower Keys begin where the Florida Keys island chain takes a graceful westerly turn toward the sunset, shortly after the famous Seven Mile Bridge. It is a quiet region of small resorts, down-home restaurants, single-family homes, untrammeled wildernesses and rich history.

Bahia Honda State Park Big Pine Key Flordia
Henry Flagler's railroad to Key West turned the remote island of Bahia Honda Key into a tropical destination. Today, the island is home to one of Florida's southernmost state parks, known for beautiful beaches, magnificent sunsets and excellent snorkeling. Visitors can picnic on the beach, take a swim, or relax and enjoy the balmy sea breezes that caress the shores year-round. Anglers can fish from shore or bring a boat and launch at the boat ramp. Kayaks, and snorkeling gear can be rented and boat trips to the reef for a snorkeling excursion are available. Bahia Honda is an excellent place to see wading birds and shorebirds, while the Sand and Sea Nature Center introduces nature lovers to the island's plants and animals. Campsites and vacation cabins are also available.

Florida Keys Kayak Dive- Big Pine Key
A great little gem of a kayak dive on Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys. Long Beach Drive. We found an invasive and potentially life threatening species, the Lionfish, within minutes of getting into the water. Also: You're gonna see a Key Deer on Big Pine Key, every time you venture off of the Overseas Highway.

Campground on Big Pine Key
In my opinion, by far the best private campground in the keys. Very nice staff, clean, larger sites than most. Boat ramp is a plus.
We stayed in the primitive camping section. Initially, we reserved a site on the water, but after struggling to set up the tent dealing with the high winds, we moved sites to a more sheltered area.
