NICE France | Promenade du Paillon | kids urban playground
To the city of NICE (France) - Promenade du Paillon. A large urban park!
This long park is a wonderful spot for kids! A huge and interesting playground, your standard equipment but with wonderful animal shapes etc and lets not forget the small water mist jets and the bigger ones further along. Very safe environment, all the kids were happily running about without hovering parents keeping one eye out for potential danger. It was a very nice experience!

France: Paris - Touring the city of light with kids
Our last video from France and Finn thinks the Eiffel tower looks like it's made of chicken wire. We were a bit overwhelmed by the heat and the crowds and the thieves but it's still an amazing city. We managed to make it to the Eiffel Tower, waited in line for two hours at the Catacombes, and took a late night Seine cruise that was worth every penny.

Grasse France - Perfume Capital of the World | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
Join us today on a tour of Grasse France!
Grasse France is known as the town of a thousand scents. It's nestled between the Mediterranean and the French Alps and has been the perfume capital of the world for three centuries.
All the surrounding hills around Grasse are filled with beautiful colored flowers that are hand picked each year and then turned into the most exquisite perfumes like Dior and Channel. The city is proud to produce over two-thirds of France's natuaral aromas (for both perfumes and food flavoring).
While in Grasse, you should definitely visit their famous Musée International de la Parfumerie (International Museum of Perfumery) and the three perfume houses - Fragonard, Molinard, and the oldest one, Gallimard (which dates back to 1747) .
These fantastic places will give you a chance to learn about how perfume is made and the history of this glorious industry. Also, you’ll get to smell all the different blends, which will be a paradise to your olfactory cortex.
All of these places offer free guided tours in several languages and gift shops you will enjoy. At Molinard, you can even learn how to make your own perfume.

Visiting Strasbourg, France with Kids
Strasbourg, France was the last French city our family visited during a 3 week tour of the country. We spent our days walking through the city's history city centre, which is a UNESCO heritage site, and visited some of the city's top attractions, including the remarkable Notre Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg.
We also explored the city's mix of classical and modern architecture on the Batorama Boat tour, and made stops at a great craft beer tavern and the Michelin Star restaurant, Au Pont de Corbeau. Full post at

THINGS TO DO:
* Bayeux Shuttle: (Half Day Tour of WWII Sights:)
We were a bit hesitant to take the young toddlers on this tour, but so glad we did - it was amazing and entertaining to them the entire time. There are multiple stops for them to get out and run, videos of the history during the short drives, and the tour guide was very entertaining and super knowledgable. It was a perfect mix of activites to keep the kids interested. As adults, the tour was so educational and even emotional. It is an absolute must do. We visited Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach & Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer
* Merville Battery
* Juno Beach
* English War Cemetery, Ranville
Where we Stayed:

Discover Fréjus / Saint-Raphaël France | 90 + Countries with 3 Kids
Welcome to Saint Raphael / Fréjus, France!
If you are looking for a calm seaside resort on the French Riviera, where you can unwind and relax, without feeling “obligated” to party every night (like in Saint Tropez, for example), Saint Raphael is the best choice you can make.
It is located just a few kilometers south-east of Frejus, in the shadow of the Massif de l'Esterel. If you want to spend your time in a town that has a long tradition of tourism, you will be glad to find out this is one of the oldest resorts on the coast. Wealthy Romans used to spend their summers in Saint Raphael 2000 years ago! It is clean and well-maintained and has only a small harbour.
Saint Raphael is not really a historic town like its neighboring Frejus; however, as a lively and popular resort, it has lovely beaches right in the town centre!
Enjoy the video and comment down below where you’re watching from!

France: Awesome Things To Do in Aix-en-Provence with Kids
See the blog post Awesome Things To Do in Aix-en-Provence with Kids at
France: Awesome Things To Do in Aix-en-Provence with Kids. We spent two weeks in Aix en Provence, France which is in the south, not too far from Marseille. We got so busy spending time with family and working that we didn't do a whole lot of filming. It's a lovely little city with a bustling tourism industry and a few nice museums and Impressionist art history. Later in the year, there are glorious lavendar fields and of course plenty of French wine. This video is an attempt to make something out of the limited amount of footage I took of the tourist and university town. It's really quite lovely (we had great weather) with beautiful parks and boulevard cafes under plane trees. Nicki and Ed met up with us after taking a river cruise / tour in the region. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. As always, See more details on the blog:

Annecy and Chamonix were our first two cities we stopped at and and we were COMPLETELY blown away. Walking along the streets of Annecy felt like we were in a real life storybook. We couldn't believe how many gelato shops were everywhere! We didn't know what would top Annecy but then we reached Chamonix. Mont Blanc exceeded our expectations! We couldn't believe people actually climbed up there. Harper was so impressed she fell asleep, ha! We were just hoping she hadn't passed out from the altitude! Every view just looked fake it was so perfect. And we realized traveling with kids definitely has it's ups and downs!

Our Story
Life is crazy! The tide smashes even the best-laid plans to sand… and so it goes!
This is a story about two people, who met by chance, were bound by fate and who continue to let the quirky side of life guide their paths! How else could a young man from a tiny town in Albania and a farm girl from the mountains of Montana meet in the middle, with a life guided by adventure?
We met in Rome. Engjell was a waiter in a little Roman restaurant down by Trevi Fountain and I was a student abroad, spending a year in the Eternal City. There are some pretty cheesy movies about the giggly American girl meeting the handsome foreigner abroad, who then spend all their time bombing around ancient ruins on a shiny moped, hair blowing in the wind and smiles from ear to ear. And yet… serendipity delivers! We did fall in love and he did have a moped…
In 2006, we moved back to the United States. We returned as a family of three, as little Fiona had been born in Rome at FateBeneFratelli, the hospital on an island… where all the Roman babies have been born for centuries! We moved often, looking for the perfect place. In 2010, we found an opportunity to open our own restaurant in Bigfork, Montana. We spent seven years and thousands of hours bringing the flavors of Italy to rural Montana. We were doing well! We were successful and busy and had finally bought our own home… we had a mortgage and car payments and a full-time, ultra-demanding job! We opened a second restaurant! We even added two more family members with the addition of Hugo and Remy!
We were living the dream! Or were we? On the outside, it looked like we had it all… that success had reached out its hand and we had graciously accepted. But in reality, we were working 80-100 hours each per week, we rarely saw our three beautiful kids who knew the nanny better than they did us, and we were burned out… from too much work, from too little time spent together as a family, from life! We had bought into the well-oiled idea of success and were realizing quickly the fatal flaws in our plan.
So we decided, together, to give it all up! We took the giant, terrifying, leap and sold it all to travel on a shoestring budget and let life teach us again, teach us anew, of what it looks like to be a successful human being! We are just beginning on this wonderful adventure! We have been traveling the U.S. for a year as a family in a motorhome. We are every day astounded by the diversity and creativity of both humans and Mother Nature. In July, we will set off for a one year trip around the world!
This time, too, food and wine lead our adventure. We hope to dig deep into every culture as we go, unearthing culinary tradition everywhere we go! We plan to travel to places where we can stage and work in restaurants and vineyards to learn more and to ultimately be able to take what we have learned and start fresh…inspired, changed… wherever we end up.
This trip is about re-defining success! It is about food and wine…about a plate of pasta or a shared bottle of wine, about experiences! It is about family and figuring out how we all fit together and what life’s REAL plan for us is! We invite you to join us in this crazy adventure as we travel the world!

After our fun-filled days at Disneyland Paris, we spent some time exploring Paris, the City of Lights!
Our first must-do item was visiting the Eiffel Tower. Initially, I was concerned that the adults would be the only ones to truly appreciate this architectural marvel, but boy was I wrong.
