Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks
Sequoia & Kings Canyon, California -- Both parks lie side by side and testify to nature's size, beauty and diversity. They are two separate parks but are in many ways, work as one, almost twins.
We'll explore must-sees like General Forest and The General Sherman Tree, one of the oldest living things. As well as Moro Rock and Mount Whitney.

Sequoia National Park ~ Kings Canyon
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. In the California Sierra Nevada is a landscape of superlatives: home to the biggest trees, the deepest canyons and the tallest mountains. Experience cathedral-like sequoia groves, deep underground caverns, lush mountain meadows and glacier-carved canyons. Highlights include visits to Giant Forest, Grant Grove, Moro Rock, Kings Canyon, Mineral King, Crystal Cave and Mt. Whitney.

Generals Highway Northbound - Sequoia National Park, Sequoia NF, Kings Canyon National Park
Traveling over the whole Generals Highway, crossing Sequoia National Park, Sequoia National Forest and Kings Canyon National Park. The video shows Generals Highway northbound - from the Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia National Park to the Big Stump entrance (exit) to Kings Canyon National Park.
Generals Highway - this is its proper spelling - is a 52.3-kilometer (32.5-mile) Californian highway connecting Highway 198 and Highway 180. It is one of the most scenic roads in the United States - and, in my opinion, in the world. Generals Highway crosses the Sequoia National Park, the Giant Sequoia National Monument section of the Sequoia National Forest and Kings Canyon National Park.

Lodgepole Campground in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park is located 2 miles from some of the World's largest trees situated on a bank overlooking the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River. Primitive tent and small RV camping in a popular location reservations are available during peak seasons.
Multiple hiking trails, multi-use trails, and visitor amenities are located in this area. Paved roads and site pads in a forested setting. A dump station is available along with potable water. Some sites allow generator use while others do not, check before reserving.
Each site has a picnic tables, fire ring and bear box. While not private and generally close together the campground is still a nice place to stay. Some sites can accommodate RVs up to 42' but generally speaking the smaller the RV the better off you will be. The campsites are sprinkled around trees and boulders so there are lots of obstacles for navigating a RV within the campground.
Open seasonally Lodgepole is more of the urban center of the National Park and is a good place to stay if you are on a novice run or have non-campers with you.

Dorst Creek Campground Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park - 360 Video Virtual Tour 4K
The future is here. 360 Video VR Tour of Dorst Creek Campground Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
NOTE: this video does not cover all loops due to fire fighter activity in the area.

Dorst Creek Campground in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park overlooks the namesake creek and at 6700 feet can have snow well in to Spring. Located 8 miles from Lodgepole Visitor Center the campground is surrounded by meadows and multiple trails including the popular trail to the Lost Grove stand of Sequoias.
Primitive tent and RV sites this campground is popular with its paved roads and sites for tent or RV camping. There is no size limit for RVs and the campground is mostly wide open for navigating with a very large main paved road and smaller yet maneuverable camp loops. A dump station is available along with potable water. Some sites allow generator use while others do not, check before reserving.
Reservations are recommended at this nice campground. On site hosts are helpful; campsites 29-61 are best suited to larger RVs with pull thrus and backins available. Some of the other loops are better suited to tent and small RV camping.
Dorst Creek Campground is the most central point for visiting all of the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park major attractions. This still means it is a long drive to the various points of interest but of all the various campgrounds this is the bets home base for a longer stay. Multiple trails depart this area.
