Lanai, Hawaii - Munro Trail & Kaunolu (4 August 2010)
Lanai is amazing, it is owned by a single person (David Murdock), population around 3,000 and not a single traffic light on the island. The trails are mainly 4WD dirt roads, not technical but flowy in the down slope with some loose sand and rough lava rocks.
Started at 9.30am from the resort at Koele to Munro Trail, mainly uphill with some stunning views and rewarded at the end with a fast and smooth down hill section to Manele Bay. Had lunch for an hour and headed to Kaunolu, all downhill and fast. But the climb back up was tough.
Ended back at Koele at 4.30pm, total ride distance around 40 km.

Mountain Biking the Munro Trail in Lanai Hawaii
30 mile loop through the Hawaiian island of Lanai via the Munro trail. My ride started at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manale Bay and climbed the paved road to the flat Lanaihale Trail. After a few mostly flat miles you begin the climb up to the Munro trail and then descend into Lanai City.

Hunting Black Tail Deer Kauai Trailer
Of all the game animals in Hawaii, the Black Tail Deer is the most coveted and difficult to “Hang on the Wall”. Why? It is because the trechureous terrain of Jungle, Canyons, and ridges that drop off thousands of feet.
Success rate is only 3%!!
Knowing the “lay of the land” and the pattern of these deer is critical for success. I have seen my share of buck and doe outside of the legal hunting season during my exploration and fishing the many canyons of Kokee State Park. This was MY year. I had scouted a section of the Ditch Man Trail 6 weeks before my weekend to hunt. I found a very clever spot that had all the “signs”. Now is the time to see if Sportsman Deane can make it “All come Together”.

Koko Head Natural Arch ~ Lanai Lookout Tunnel & Bridge ~ Indian Graffiti
Hiked to various areas on the Island of Oahu. We began with a sunrise hike to the Koko Head Natural Arch where we became part of Ceejay's awesome drone video. Then we explored the Halona Blowhole area then proceeded to the Lanai Lookout tunnel and bridge. Finally ended with a forest hike to view some of the most beautiful Graffiti art we have come across yet.
