STREET FOOD in ITALY | What to eat in ROME | ROME street food tour
STREET FOOD IN ITALY | ROME street food tour | What to eat in Rome
We're in Rome, Italy! In this 3 part series we're exploring Italy's capital city to hunt down the best local food. Rome has a distinct cuisine- one based on nose to tail eating, punchy bold flavours and fresh ingredients prepared simply.
This is our first video from Rome and it's all about Rome street food! We start the day with one of Rome's most popular street foods: the suppli. A breaded, deep fried rice ball made up of risotto rice cooked in a rugu and stuffed with a blob of mozzarella- these things are addictive! Next up we hunt down some delicious pizza from pizza bianca (white pizza) to pizza al taglio (by the slice)- we find some stellar versions. Next up, gelato! One of the ultimate sweet Roman street foods! Not all gelato are made equal so we hunt down a gelateria which prepares every single ingredient for their gelato onsite from roasting the nuts to peeling and pulping the fruit. This gelato is next level and really popular with the locals. We finish up at one of Rome's institutions- a restaurant that serves only one thing: fried salt cod. If you're not eating in, head to the back of the restaurant and order a filet of fried salt cod to takeaway directly from the kitchen and enjoy it on the streets of Rome.
We hope you enjoyed this Italian food video, thanks for watching! #italianfood #romefoodtour #rome

Day 14 on our Round The World Trip for Food: Rome, Italy - On our very first day in Rome, we set off early in the morning to see some of the most famous attractions in Rome, including the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. After doing some more sightseeing and having lunch, we had an amazing Roman food at a restaurant in Rome called Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino.
00:37 Breakfast at the hotel - To begin the day of sightseeing in Rome, we had breakfast at the hotel, and did the final planning of the day.
2:12 Colosseum - One of the most important and well recognized attractions in Rome is the Colosseum and we arrived pretty early to get in, and I also had pre-purchased my tickets online to attempt to beat the crowds and not have to waste time waiting in line. It worked well, and as soon as the Colosseum opened, we went through security and got in. It was an amazing sight to see, especially because it was so quiet when we arrived.
3:51 Roman Forum and Palatine Hill - Locate in the same area as the Colosseum is the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and so that’s where we went next. Again, seeing the ancient ruins of Rome was truly spectacular.
5:48 Trattoria Luzzi - I wasn’t quite sure where to eat lunch, and located right around these famous attractions in Rome, there are a lot of expensive, and probably not so good restaurants. We decided to go check out a restaurant called Trattoria Luzzi, just down the road from the Colosseum on the opposite side of the road. I ordered Trippa Alla Romana, a Roman tripe dish and also a pasta of Amatriciana. Overall, the food was good, and it was a friendly little restaurant and the location was good. Total price - 21 EUR ($23.47).
10:31 Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano - After lunch we headed to Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano, a huge basilica in Rome. Right across the plaza is Scala Sancta, a small chapel with a 28 step staircase where Jesus is believed to have ascended.
13:25 Gelateria Valentino - I don’t know of anyone that goes to Rome without eating some gelato, and right around the Trevi fountain area of Rome, you’ll find a lot of gelato spots. We tried Gelateria Valentino. Gelato - 3 EUR ($3.35)
14:50 Trevi Fountain - Another one of the most iconic attractions in Rome is the Trevi fountain. We didn’t spend too much time there, but it is pretty cool to see in person.
16:25 Amazing Italian Roman food at Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant - For dinner, my wife and I met up with Valentina and Antonio. After walking through the amazing narrow lanes of Rome, we navigated our way to Trattoria Dal Cavalier Gino Restaurant, where they had made a reservation for dinner. The restaurant is exactly what you want in a classic Roman Italian food restaurant, a family style restaurant that offers an abundance of Roman dishes. We first started with some types of Roman pasta including cacio e pepe, and carbonara, all of which were incredible - the best pastas I’ve ever had. Then we moved on the an amazing assortment of main Italian food dishes, including veal, lamb, and so many other amazing dishes. It was an Italian food meal like I’ve never had before. Most of the dishes were Roman food style. Thank you Valentina and Antonio for the amazing dinner!
Day 14 in Rome was an amazing day of visiting some of the most famous attractions in Rome and eating some incredibly delicious Italian food!

Contrabass player, Jun-Hyuk Choi from Korea.
- Autumn leaves
We were traveling in Florence, Italy.
He joined street players after saying I'm a bassist and if I could play some.
In Korea, he played it with four strings but there were only three, which might make him play little bit hard but amazing.
The song they played, Autumn leaves, is jazz standard, which is the reason why they could play together right away.
I used Galaxy S6 edge to record this. (So many people asked about this)

Italian Food Review | Our Favorite Restaurant in Venice, Italy Travel Video Transcript:
Alright guys snowy day here in Venice. How rare. We were not expecting this but the Beast from the East has arrived. Look at all of that snow.
The plan for today we're going to take it easy on the sightseeing. It is going to be very light. We are going to get some food. We're hoping to find some Venetian dishes. Sam spotted a restaurant that he thought looked really good.
Trying to decide what will he eat? What will he have? There is a pretty extensive menu and I'm also munching down on the bread plate.
They have a lot of dishes with seafood. I think that is what we're going to go for. Since this is Venice. You know we're out on the water. It seems like a good idea. I'm hungry.
They have a really good special at this restaurant. It is 12 Euros for a set menu at lunchtime. They have how many options here?
Eleven different options to choose from. They are all really different. It ranges from pasta to seafood. I think they even have soups and salads. Special salads. We've ordered 4 different set menus. It comes with beverages. And with my parents. So I went for the white wine. Sam is having red. Generous amounts of wine.
My set menu came with a salad as a starter so I've just finished dressing it a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and some balsamic vinegar.
We're going to start off with Dad's. What did you get? I got calamari that is done properly. It is lightly battered. You've sampled it already. It is lightly cooked.
And it is not overcooked. Most calamari is overcooked so this is delicious. It is good?
It is like the batter is right there but you can really taste the calamari. That is awesome.
I've got a seafood spaghetti and as you can see here you can start seeing some of the seafood right in here. This one was spaghetti pescatore. The fisherman's spaghetti. I'm just going to hack up some of these noodles here. It looks good.
It is nice to be eating seafood and just the way that it is kind of a light sauce. A sauce with herbs and dressings and you can tell it was like a little bit of olive oil in there too.
Sweet and sour sardines. I'll just take it right over here. This is a dish that dates back to the middle ages and it is how um the fishermen would preserve, look at that, the sardines they would keep it in vinegar.
It is really tasty. I like that the raisins add a bit of sweetness to it.
The sardines are really tender.
Because our eyes are always bigger than our stomachs we got two desserts. This is outside of the set menu but we ordered the tiramisu and the pannacotta which. They are both delicious.
This meal was outstanding. One of our best meals on this trip in Europe in 2018 to be honest. In total it came to 12 Euros per person for the meal for the mains with a big glass of wine and salad. Dessert at 5 Euros each. Again excellent value.
This is part of our Travel in Italy video series showcasing Italian food, Italian culture and Italian cuisine.

Rome walk lunch Trevi dinner 2012
We're starting out our journey to Europe at the Rome airport. It's a modern facility so it's really quite easy to get from your airplane to baggage claim. Of course, it takes a while to fly to Europe, but we've speed things up here and we have arrived in the blink of an eye. After a brief rest were eager to see the city.
Here's Sant Andrea Della Valle, with the second highest dome in the city, after St. Peter's. Inside the church it's a chance to look at these incredible artworks on display. Back in the Middle Ages, then onto the Renaissance and the Baroque, the church was all-powerful in Rome and throughout Italy and was the great patron of the artists. It has got an impressive mirror that allows you to look at the ceiling without straining your neck. You've got to get around in see every nook and cranny when you go into a stupendous church like Sant Andre della Valle. Another counterreformation masterpiece, and the Baroque style, built in the late 1600s. This church is on every corner it seems in the city. In fact, they have 500 churches in Rome.
After our visit to Sant Andrea. We worked up an appetite, and fortunately, just around the corner is the Campo de Fiori. It's surrounded by restaurants. Now granted these are somewhat touristic, but it's really wonderful place to eat. Pizzeria Virgilio was very satisfactory and look that wine. It's our first meal of the tour and already we're starting off with a bang. This is great. Everybody diving in and having some beautiful red wine at lunch. That's a good start. Okay, granted for you restaurant purists out there, you can get a better meal in Rome certainly and you can get a worse meal in Rome,l of course but these restaurants around the Campo have that one essential unique ingredient and that is this wonderful location. It's just a great spot to eat. And spaghetti is spaghetti. Really, you know there are different levels—there's great spaghetti and mediocre. Pizzeria Virgilio was quite fine, and a great place to begin our tour. Pizza was good, pasta was nice and there's great scenery sitting at an outdoor table at Campo de Fiori.
Well these neighborhoods all around are just saturated with charm and character. Your first walk should bring you into the Piazza Navona, with its picture-postcard perfect St. Agnese Church by Borromini, and the stunning Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini. You are going to notice right away the Roman Senate, a former Palace.
Ah, gelato. Here's a famous gelateria, San Crispino, noted for the fresh flavors that they make themselves.
Then you continue along the pedestrian alley where you soon arrive at the Pantheon. It's a perfect structure, still standing with its great dome intact after one thousand nine hundred years. It was the largest dome in the world until this century, and forms a spherical space that creates a balanced feeling of harmony. Its spherical design takes the shape of a bubble in a barrel where the height of 140 feet is equal to its width, a dome atop the cylindrical base wall. The Pantheon was probably designed, in part, by the emperor Hadrian in A.D. 125 as a temple to all the gods, and has served a variety of historical functions over its many years.
The Pantheon is situated on the Piazza della Rotunda, which has a beautiful fountain in the middle with an Egyptian obelisk. The fountain in the middle of the piazza was created by Giacomo della Porta in 1575.
Walk behind the left (east) side of the Pantheon to Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, the only significant gothic church in the city. Even though Rome has been a religious and artistic center for 2,500 years, during the Middle Ages it was relatively unimportant and produced little in the way of gothic architecture that has survived, except for this impressive church.
Don't miss St. Ignazio, with its illusionistic ceiling mural painted during the 17th century by the Jesuit priest, Andrea Pozzo. This vivid three-dimensional perspective will shock your eyes with its realistic depiction of the heavens opening above and painted architecture that blends magically with the building so you don't know where one begins and the other ends.
A few blocks away, across the busy Via del Corso, is the spectacular Trevi Fountain, made famous in the movies Three Coins in the Fountain and La Dolce Vita. It is very possibly the world's most beautiful fountain, depicting Neptune, god of the ocean, being pulled through a triumphal arch by wild horses amidst a torrential cascade, heralded by conch blowers. Here you must toss a coin over your shoulder once to come back to Rome, and once again for another wish.
Notice the busy pizzeria called Da Baffetto -- it's an expensive, tasty and famous. And then we're taking a stroll, it's getting late, the evening is descending now, and it's time to enjoy some of the city streets in the evening. It's very safe and peaceful with really interesting sights to see

[Report#2] The largest overseas U.S. military base, Camp Humphreys in South Korea
We take you to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, the largest American military base outside the U.S. It's like any U.S. town, home to tens of thousands of U.S. troops and their families. We introduce to you some of the major facilities on post, and some of the military hardware that show U.S. commitment to its alliance with South Korea. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump insists that South Korea is getting a defense free ride from the U.S., and is demanding that Seoul pay more for stationing the U.S. troops here. But one fact you have to know here is that South Korea has actually paid more than 92% of the costs to build this new headquarters at Camp Humphreys.

We're in Rome, Italy! In this 3 part series we're exploring Italy's capital city to hunt down the best local food. Rome has a distinct cuisine- one based on nose to tail eating, punchy bold flavours, fresh ingredients prepared simply and they love their street food.
This is our third video from Rome and we're eating street food plus showing you some traditional Roman foods. We start in the Jewish Ghetto and visit one of the most historic pastry shops in the city to sample their ricotta and cherry cake. This kosher bakery is famous for their cake which features creamy ricotta, wild sour cherries and a crumbly pastry. Next up we head to a heritage, hole in the wall spot serving porchetta- a whole pig which is de-boned, seasoned, rubbed with rosemary, rolled and roasted. Er Buchetto is a 6th generation shop which brings its porchetta in from Arricia- a village outside of Rome famous for its porchetta. We eat a porchetta panino- slices of juicy pork stuffed into a crusty roll. It is SENSATIONAL. It's then time for a long lunch of pasta at a neighbourhood trattoria which does the best pasta we ate in our week long stay in Rome. Finally it's off to a Roman pizza joint to sample the classic thin and crispy Roman pizza. What a day of eating! We hope you enjoyed our Rome food tour! #rome #italy #romefoodtour

From street food to mom and pop restaurants, we want to show you the best and most authentic food we find on our travels.
