Lake Guerlédan is an artificial lake in the centre of Brittany, France. It extends across the borders of the departments of Morbihan and Côtes-d'Armor, within the communes of Saint-Aignan, Morbihan and Mûr-de-Bretagne. At an elevation of 121 m, its surface area is 4 km². Lake Guerlédan is the largest artificial lake in Brittany.
This Lake was created to power the dam of Guerlédan. Construction took seven years from 1923 to 1930, and encountered many geological, technical and financial difficulties. The creation of the lake and especially that of the dam cut the through the Nantes-Brest canal which from this location, followed the course of the river Blavet. Seventeen of the old locks on the canal were submerged in the Lake. Lake Guerlédan is now a tourist attraction, offering various watersports, walks and panoramic views.
During World War II, the Breton nationalist architect James Bouillé advocated a radical plan to build a new Breton capital city on the shores of Lake Guerlédan, to be called Brittia. Bouillé believed this could be a Celtic Brasilia.
Beginning in 1951, the Lake was regularly drained for repair, the last time being in 1985, revealing a hidden landscape of submerged locks and buildings. Modern technology will reduce this frequency but in 2015 the lake will be drained for the last time in a generation and new maintenance access installed so that the dam's hydro-electric system can be checked without draining

Route: starting a on the N164 & turning right onto Rue de l'Argoat & then onto Rue Sainte-Suzanne D767 & Rue Léon le Cerf. Next onto the D35 (Rue de la Gare, Route de Quenecan, Poul ar Liandy) to 22530 Quenecan & briefly onto the D18 56480 Saint-Aignan.

The Morvan parc naturel carp fishing road trip with Fred and Danny stanmore filmed in France during June 2017. We fished 4 big public lakes which were - lac de pannecière, lac de st agnan, lac de chaumeçon and etang de vaux.
Pêche à la carpe - Le road trip dans le Parc naturel régional du Morvan avec Fred et Danny Stanmore filmé pendant 12 jours en juin 2017. Nous avons pêché 4 lacs publics -, lac de pannecière, lac de st agnan, lac de chaumeçon and etang de vaux.

Route: starting at the junction of the D18 & D31 & driving on the D31 56480 Le Touldren & along Rue de Guerlédan, through 56480 Belle Fontaine & 56480 Bot Plançon. Next turning left off the D31 & driving through (or near) 56480 Lann Guilloux 56480 Suillerf, 56480 Bot Ponal & 56480 Porh Boulan. At Porh Boulan turning right & driving through 56480 Le Quinquis & onto the D15B. Continuing on the D158 through 56480 Malvran & turning right onto the D15A La Forge Neuve, 56480 Sainte-Brigitte & onto the D44. Next over the river bridge (Le Blavet) to Bon Repos, 22570 Saint-Gelven & to the junction of the D44 & D2164.
We stopped at 9:01 to visit Lac de Guerlédan which has been emptied (possibly for the last time). The video can be found here:

Route: starting at the junction of the D18 & D31 & driving on the D31 56480 Le Touldren & along Rue de Guerlédan, through 56480 Belle Fontaine & 56480 Bot Plançon. Next turning left off the D31 & driving through (or near) 56480 Lann Guilloux 56480 Suillerf, 56480 Bot Ponal & 56480 Porh Boulan. At Porh Boulan turning right & driving to 56480 Le Quinquis. Next turning right onto the D15B to Anse de Sordan & stopping near the Merlin restaurant. Next, back along the D15B & turning right at Le Quinquis & continuing on the D15B through 56480 Malvran & turning right onto the D15A La Forge Neuve, 56480 Sainte-Brigitte & onto the D44. Next over the river bridge (Le Blavet) to Bon Repos, 22570 Saint-Gelven & to the junction of the D44 & D2164.
