Brookline is a town which borders Boston and Newton, and has a population of just under 60,000 residents.
The Country Club, an exclusive sporting club, was the first private club in the United States formed exclusively for outdoor activities. It is most famous as a golf club, and has hosted the US Open three times, and the Ryder Cup Matches once.
Larz Anderson Park is located on a 64 acre estate once owned by Larz Anderson and Isabel Weld Perkins. The park contains the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, the oldest automobile collection in the United States, as well as a one room schoolhouse dating back to Colonial times.
Even though Brookline is very close to Boston, it has managed to maintain its own identity. Brookline maintains a unique mixture of urban and suburban living, upscale shops and recreational parks, large apartment buildings, quaint brownstones and large estates. Many academic and scientific professionals who work in the nearby medical centers of Boston reside in Brookline.
Among its many unique and quirky resources, it has its own working farm and farm stand, the oldest country club in America, a town golf course, a park on a hillside overlooking Boston with an open air skating rink and the transportation museum, as well as many parks and playgrounds scattered throughout the town. Unlike most areas in and around Boston, Brookline maintains an unusual overnight parking ban.
Starring Weld — the Isabel & Larz Anderson Estate in Brookline
In 1952, director Alfred L. Werker chose Weld, the once glorious Gilded Age mansion of Isabel and Larz Anderson in Brookline, Mass., as one of the settings for his film Walk East on Beacon, filmed on location in Boston and Brookline. Larz had died in 1937, and when Isabel died in 1948, she left the estate to the Town of Brookline. In the movie, the interiors of Weld were identified as the secret offices of an American government anti-spy operation. This was the last time Weld's interiors would be photographed. This short video takes you on a walk through the house, from the 1887 front hallway, to a series of large and imposing rooms added to the house in 1914-16.
The house burned to the ground in 1958.

Mixed JV XC Race
Brookline, Needham and Milton ran at Larz Anderson Park, in Brookline MA on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. I expected 50 JV boys and 50 JV girls in the mixed race.
Instead, there were 87 boys and 58 girls. The two chutes, were just 40 feet in length. Although the ground was slippery, the backup, onto the finish line, should not have happened. At its peak, there were 23 boys finishing in 30 seconds.

Larz Anderson Flying
The Boston Area Multirotor group had a Facebook post on Saturday morning saying I'm headed over to the park; 3 of us made it, and met up with another flyer who was flying a slightly different kind of aerial vehicle -- which couldn't decide if it was a plane or a helicopter.

Recién llegados de Chicago, reencuentro con nuestros queridos amigos: cumplía años Silvia! Qué suerte poder volver a tener la oportunidad de celebrarlo juntas!
Dos días después, con ellos nuevamente en su hogar, en Lexington. Allí disfrutamos no sólo de su enorme hospitalidad sino también por la posibilidad de hacernos conocer otros lugares, como por ejemplo el condado de Brookline (Nueva Inglaterra) visitando el Larz Anderson Auto Museum y la casa donde nació J.F.Kennedy.

Porsche Day at Larz Anderson - Porsche 918, Porsche 911 997 GT2 + More
Porsche Day at Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, MA was a great event, with an awesome turnout!
This year the Porsche 918, (one of the holy trinity of hypercars) was on display and we even got to see it drive away. Also at Larz was the very rare Porsche 911 997 GT2 (1 of 198) in the United States.
