Fisherman's Wharf is a neighborhood and popular tourist attraction in San Francisco, California. It roughly encompasses the northern waterfront area of San Francisco from Ghirardelli Square or Van Ness Avenue east to Pier 35 or Kearny Street. The F Market streetcar runs through the area, the Powell-Hyde cable car lines runs to Aquatic Park, at the edge of Fisherman's Wharf, and the Powell-Mason cable car line runs a few blocks away.
San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf gets its name and neighborhood characteristics from the city's early days of the mid to later 1800s when Italian immigrant fishermen came to the city by the bay to take advantage of the influx of population due to the gold rush. One, Achille Paladini, found success wholesaling local fish as owner of the Paladini Fish Company, and came to be known as the Fish King. Most of the Italian immigrant fishermen settled in the North Beach area close to the wharf and fished for the local delicacies and the now famed Dungeness crab. From then until the present day it remained the home base of San Francisco's fishing fleet. Despite its redevelopment into a tourist attraction during the 1970s and 1980s, the area is still home to many active fishermen and their fleets.
In 2010, a $15 million development plan was proposed by city officials hoping to revitalize its appearance for tourists, and to reverse the area's downward trend in popularity among San Francisco residents, who have shunned the locale over the years.
Seattle To San Francisco Pacific Coast Bike Tour 2016
In May 2016 I quit my job of 8 years, moved out of my residence of 12 years and Cycled along the Pacific Coast from Seattle, Wa. down to San Francisco, Ca. It was a life changing experience which I'm still not sure why I had to do, I just knew I had to do it. This is a semi chronological collection I put together of some of the pictures I was able to take. I left out many more, not to mention the ones I couldn't take because I was riding my bike. This helps me revisit the trip which is very crucial to me!! Earth is beautiful. The Journey Truly Is The Only Destination.
I wrote, both of the songs.
Home Again is an acoustic guitar song I wrote shortly after this trip when I decided I was gonna try to cycle from Missouri back to Seattle... (Long Story).
Destination is a song I wrote and produced in 2010, for a solo album I wrote called
'From Scratch... The Destination Project' .
I hope y'all enjoy riding with me on this!
Much Love Y'all!! Thank you for watching!!

weee a roadtrip! home for the holidays! this was my first time ever going from vancouver to san francisco in the 5 years that I've lived in vancouver. but there was a ton of stuff I left at home in SF that I've never been able to fly up so we figured now is the time! let's drive! (tbh dejan drove the whole way cause he doesn't mind and is much more comfortable on windy roads with huge trucks on them)
16 hours and it really wasn't that bad! also I was five months pregnant at the time so really not a bad roadtrip at all - the 10 leg from portland to sf was probably the roughest but we kept ourselves entertained. we had a lot of fun and now this makes me feel like we could def do a longer roadtrip in the future together :) hope you enjoy the video and have a beautiful day :) stay sunny xxN

● Golden Gate Bridge - The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
● Transamerica Pyramid -- It is a 48-story futurist building and the second-tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline. It was the tallest building in San Francisco from its inception in 1972 until 2018 when Salesforce Tower surpassed its height.
● The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, known locally as the Bay Bridge, is a complex of bridges spanning San Francisco Bay in California. As part of Interstate 80 and the direct road between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries about 260,000 vehicles a day on its two decks.
● Palace of Fine Arts - It is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition to exhibit works of art. It remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals and is a favorite location for weddings and such an icon that a miniature replica of it was built in Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim.

Pacifice Coast Highway Bike Tour - San Francisco to San Diego
This was the first time either of us had been on this section of the PCH between San Francisco and San Diego. It was great having our wives follow us and provide support for the first two days. Like many others, we debated how to deal with the Mud Creek Slide road closure, but ultimately we decided to ride through it by waiting until the workers had left for the day and then walk our bikes over the massive quarter mile wide slide area and just keep going.
It took us 11 days to complete. The last couple days we put in a whole lotta miles so we didn't get a much video of that part as a result.

This video explains the difference between San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the Bay Area, gives brief overview of the history of Silicon Valley and how it came to dominate the tech industry, and gives you a tour of the Bay Area along with the companies headquartered there.
