Lisbon, Portugal: Riverside Walk - River Tagus/Rio Tejo.
Lisbon, Portugal: Riverside Walk - River Tagus/Rio Tejo.
Here's the third and final part of our last day in Lisbon, Portugal. Fortified by coffee and cake, we take a walk along the banks of the River Tagus / Rio Tejo and gaze at all the boats, ships and even the odd swing bridge. It was a lovely end to a wonderful stay in Lisbon, which we topped off with a final ice-cream at the ice-cream parlour in Cais do Sodré.
Thanks so much for watching!
We'll return to Lisbon in the Autumn and do a bit more vlogging then too. In the meantime, it'll be back to the UK where we live!

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We love getting out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a home-schooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Our resourcefulness is tested on a daily basis but we'd love to share our little triumphs and discoveries with you as we go along.
I will always write closed captions in UK English for my vlogs, not only to make them more accessible in general but also to create a useful resource for advanced learners of the English language who may enjoy regular bursts of pseudo-immersion in English in a narrative context with the additional benefit of corresponding on-screen text.
These videos will not generally feature background music, making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music! x

10 Top Tourist Attractions in Lisbon - Travel Video
The capital of sunny Portugal, Lisbon is situated at the point where the Tagus River estuary meets the Atlantic Ocean. As a travel destination, the riverfront city is as rich and varied as the country’s long history. From the ruins of a Moorish castle perched atop one of the city’s seven hills to a sidewalk café snuggled against an ancient Visigoth wall, remnants of Lisbon’s colorful past are everywhere. While Western Europe’s oldest city has taken steps to overhaul its transportation system, modernize its downtown area and revamp its waterfront, it’s the charm of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods that most attract visitors.

Hi guys. Are you looking for the best sunset cruises in Lisbon? Then this video is for you. Hi, I'm Maria from travelguidelisbon.com, and in this video I'm going to talk about the best shared and private sunset cruises in Lisbon. In the first 1/2 of the video I'm going to describe our best four options of shared sunset cruises, and in the second 1/2 of this video I'm going to talk about our top three picks of private evening tours in Lisbon. Now, I have created this video because there are literally hundreds of options of boat trips in Lisbon, and the task to choose the best one for you seems near to impossible. So, I have done the research, and narrowed it down for a small number of options for you, hopefully making your life and choice easier this way.
01:09-03:33
- So, the best four options for shared sunset cruises in Lisbon. Now, all the four options I have chosen for you are very similar in terms of duration. They all last for two hours. They all have a live guide on board also available in English. You will always have a welcome drink on board, and almost all the cruises depart from Belem. Now, the tour that the boat takes is also very similar. You will always have a look at the Belem district including the Belem Tower, the Monuments to Discoveries, the Cristo Rei statue, you will always pass under the 25th of April Bridge, and have a beautiful view on the hillsides of the historical Lisbon. Now, our first pick is a two-hour sunset cruise operated by a company called Pypas Cruises. They are known for their quality, and engaging guide on board. (...) On the second place there is a two-hour sunset cruise operated by the company called Lisbon Sail. (...) The third option is a two-hour sunset cruise operated by Palmayachts,(...). On the fourth place is the sunset cruise by Terra Incognita.(...). So these are the four best options picked by us for shared sunset cruises in Lisbon.
03:38-05:38
- And now about the best private sunset cruises in Lisbon. I have picked three top options for you. All the three options are very similar in terms of duration. They all last for two hours. They all have live guide on board. And they all depart in Belem. The route the boats take is also very similar to the previously described shared sunset cruises. So you will check out the Belem area. Pass under the 25 de Abril Bridge, and have a beautiful view on the historical hillside of Lisbon. Now if you're traveling with a small group of people, the best option for you would be the private yacht evening, operated by a company called Lisbon by Boat. (...). Now if you're looking for a romantic evening sunset cruise for just for the two of you, there are two best options for you. One of them costs 230 euros for the two of you, operated by Lisbon Sail. And you will be sitting on a sailing boat. With this company, you also have the option to book an extra dinner on board after the cruise. But you have to call them in advance to arrange that. Another option for just for the two of you is slightly more expensive operated by Pypas Cruises. (...).
05:39-06:06
Now, this was for today. I hope you enjoy the video, and I hope that I made your life a little bit easier when choosing the best sunset cruise for you. Because it's really not easy. And to check these trips in more details, and book them online, and check more useful tips and information on Lisbon, by visiting Lisbon, Please visit our website travelguidelisbon.com. LISBON: Parque das Nações - newest district (5/5) Portugal HD
Parque das Nações (English: Park of the Nations) is the newest district in Lisbon/Lisboa, having emerged from an urban renewal programme leading to the World Exhibition of Lisbon 1998, also known as Expo'98.
The Gare do Oriente is one of the main transport hubs of Lisbon for trains, buses, taxis and the metro. Its glass and steel columns are inspired by Gothic architecture, lending the whole structure a visual fascination (especially in sunlight or when illuminated at night).
The area is pedestrian-friendly with new buildings, restaurants, gardens, the Casino Lisbon, the Vasco da Gama Shopping Center, the FIL building (International Exhibition and Fair), the Camões Theatre, cable car, as well as the Oceanário de Lisboa (Lisbon Oceanarium), the second largest in the world.
To tour the area, visitors can jump on a toy train that passes by the main attractions every twenty minutes, or ride the cable car that runs the full length of the site, parallel to the river, while giving commanding views along the way.
The Marina Parque das Nações features 600 berths and modern infrastructures, a river pier for cruises or historical vessels and an exclusive pontoon prepared to receive nautical and on land events.

In the distance, the Vasco da Gama Bridge over the river Tagus (Tejo) can be seen. It is the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), with a total length of 12.3 kilometres (7.6 mi), including 0.8 kilometres (0.50 mi) for the main bridge and 11.5 kilometres (7.1 mi) in viaducts. It was built to alleviate the congestion on Lisbon's 25 de Abril Bridge, and eliminate the need for traffic between the country's northern and southern regions to pass through the capital city.
The bridge was opened to traffic on 29 March 1998, just in time for Expo 98, the World's Fair that celebrated the 500th anniversary of the discovery by Vasco da Gama of the sea route from Europe to India.

Lisbon, Portugal Travel Guide - Best Places To Visit In Lisbon - Travel Guide
Lisbon , Portugal Travel Guide - Best Places To Visit In Lisbon - Travel Guide
Lisbon is the capital city and largest city of Portugal. Lisbon is the westernmost large city located in Europe, as well as its westernmost capital city and the only one along the Atlantic coast. It lies in the western Iberian Peninsula on the Atlantic Ocean and the Tagus River.
The most important places to visit in Lisbon are: Jeronimo's Monastery (this is one attraction you must not miss in Lisbon. Constructed in the 16th century, it's simply an amazing site), Pena Palace (located in the town of Sintra, close to Lisbon, among the world's most beautiful palaces. A fine example of Portuguese architecture), Belem Tower (a 16th century UNESCO world heritage site. Initially a fortress to protect the city, it symbolizes the Age of Discoveries), Commerce Square (a grand square situated by the river Tages. Before the 1755 earthquake, it was the site of a palace), St. George's Castle (when you are in Lisbon it's hard to miss this massive castle. The earliest origins dates back 1500 years) and many more.

Things To Do In Lisbon Portugal and Alfama
One of the best Things to do in Lisbon is go on a food tour!
We went on a trip to Al Fama and ate so much awesome food and saw an incredible amount of Portugals history.
The steep streets of Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest areas, are lined with shops selling traditional crafts and cafes. Passengers pack the historic no. 28 tram, which winds through Alfama on its way up to 11th-century São Jorge Castle. Views from Miradouro da Graça terrace stretch over the city to the River Tagus. In the evening, melancholy Fado music can be heard in some of the area's long-running restaurants.
Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.
