Exploring Lisbon's Ancient Aqueduct | Solo in Lisbon E3
Lisbon of the past always suffered from a lack of clean, drinking water so in the early 1700's King John V decided to build a vast aqueduct to bring water in from the Sintra Mountains. After spending some time in the city centre I decided to take a train out to the ancient reservoir and aqueduct, now a museum dedicated to telling the story of how these incredible structures came to be. I spent the afternoon exploring the main reservoir building and walking across the section of aqueduct that crosses the Alcantara valley.

Portugal's dramatic surf break | Condé Nast Traveller
Nazaré, about an hour and a half north of Lisbon on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, is known for its dramatic surf break – waves here can reach 100ft thanks to the underwater Nazaré Canyon. Swelling water crash against breaking waves, which surfers climb and ride in front of hundreds of thousands of spectators who make their way up to the coast’s lighthouses and cliffs for the best view. World record-holding surfer rides 'Gasoline' waves in Portugal
Subscribe to ITN News:
Swapping the adrenaline rush of big wave surfing for the calmer waters of the Tagus River, on his trip to Portugal, world-renowned American surfer Garrett McNamara certainly made waves. McNamara, who holds the record for the largest wave ever ridden, took to the so-called 'Gasoline' waves generated by the catamarans that connect Lisbon and Barreiro. The event, dubbed the 'McNamara Surf Trip', was organised by the Portuguese tourist board, and he said it was certainly something new for him. Report by Victoria Nwosu-Hope.

Welcome to Portugal. This country has maintained its borders since 1279 making it one of the oldest countries in Europe. Lisbon - the capital of Portugal - is one of the oldest city in Europe.
Portugal is known for its mix of stunning landscapes, colorful houses and old trams as well as the Atlantic Ocean, all of which you can find here in Porto, the second largest city in Portugal right after Lisbon.

Do not be fooled by the beautiful beach and ocean, the temperatures of the water are very cold….

Porto in the North of Portugal is known for its Port wine and Douro River and it is so pretty here that it was proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.

Almost everywhere you are in Porto, you are surrounded by water, stunning architecture and the warm Portuguese sun.

Vila Nova de Gaia already existed under the Roman Empire. Today it is known for its many wine cellars, where the famous port wine is stored and aged.

Another day another beautiful building. This time it is the stunning central station where we take a train to another amazing city in northern Portugal. Welcome to Guimareaes!
STAND-UP: XXX
Since 2001 Guimaraes historic town centre is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site for being an exceptionally well-preserved and authentic example of the evolution of a medieval settlement into a modern town in Europe.
Guimarães also plays an important role in Portugal’s history because of the role it played in the foundation of this country. The city is often referred to as the birthplace of the Portuguese nationality” because it is believed that Portugal's first King, Afonso Henriques, was born there,For some decades, Guimarães was the capital of the County of Portugal.
Lisbon Walking Tour & History | Solo in Lisbon E2
Lisbon is an incredible city and I wanted to learn as much about it as I could, so on the second day of my trip I took a walking tour of the down town area - familiarising myself with the city centre and learning about the capital's history and culture. We took a walk around the neighbourhoods of Bairro Alto, Chiado and Baixa before ending the tour in Praça do Comércio - a spectacular plaza made up of stone arches, bright yellow neoclassical style buildings and a magnificent waterfront.

Weird Waves Season 2: Gaso-Line (Portugal) | Surf | VANS
In this episode of Weird Waves Dylan Graves and the WW Crew prove ferry waves are real. We’re talking specifically about ferries that take people from the blue-collar town of Barreiro, Portugal to the capital city of Lisbon as a way to dodge morning traffic. The new wave generating boats have sparked a new surf community in an unlikely place. One person’s commuter traffic is another’s wonderland.

Lisbon Surf Camp - Nómada Digital
Are you a Digital Nomad or someone who wants to know more about becoming one? Are you searching for a way to join a nomadic community and share amazing times with entrepreneurs and like-minded travelers?
Then you’re in the right place. Welcome to our Digital Nomad community and retreats!
Being a Digital Nomad isn’t a week-long holiday or a months worth of vacation. It is a lifestyle and a choice. Because we know it can be hard to get started or feel supported if this is something you’ve been doing for a while, we’ve created a series of Digital Nomad Retreats to help you.
We’ve just finished an incredible 7 day retreat in Lisbon, Portugal. Here’s a peak into what we experienced:
A great lifestyle, meeting other Digital Nomads and eternal travelers, an eclectic group of entrepreneurs, remote workers, opportunities to create and collaborate in community, surf, explore and enjoy various natural landscapes, learn about remote jobs, attend conferences, share resources and knowledge, attend parties and barbecues, stand before breathtaking views, dive into culture and history, give and get advice on how to begin and survive as a Digital Nomad, and so much more!
To live the life of a Digital Nomad is something that cannot be done alone. This life, perhaps more so than most traditional lifestyles, requires you to be proactive about meeting people, learning together and relying on each other for support. A Digital Nomad thrives in community.
A Digital Nomad discovers what it means to walk the road between work and wandering. They are open to new experiences, adventures, and choose to follow their heart and passions above all else. When Digital Nomads unite, a connection occurs that reaches far beyond the differences—each traveler brings their own agenda, comes from a different part of the world, speaks their own beautiful language, has their own routine and rhythms, and their own way of understanding life—yet, our travels, our adventures, our dreams and our stories connect us. We are one because we are many.
By facilitating Digital Nomad retreats we seek to create and engage in a global connectivity where, in coming together, diversity is our greatest strength and community is our greatest need. We want to create a space, a sacred meeting ground, for nomads to come together and create, to unleash the imagination and explore new possibilities.
We’ve just finished our very first Digital Nomad retreat in Lisbon, Portugal, where we stayed in a wonderful house close to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone that took part in this adventure. Like always, we couldn’t have done it alone, and like we’ve said, we don’t want to.
With such a great beginning behind us, we’re excited to keep the community alive. Our next Digital Nomad retreat will be in Greece!
