SFWC - fell walk from the Ponderosa Café to Llangollen in Wales. 9.5 miles with a total ascent of just over 2,200 feet. Calling at Moel-y-Faen (548 ft), Moel-y-Gamelin (577 ft), Bwlch-y-Garned (264 ft). Then through the small villages of Rhewl and Llantysillo before reaching the Horseshoe Falls and the Castell Dinas Bran and on to Llangollen. A great days walking in a mix of weather.

Solo Wildcamp and Camp Fire Cooking | Wildcamping in Wales | Llangollen
Join me for a quick solo, overnight camp on my favourite local hills in the trusty Scarp 1. I had a nice camp fire- contained in the excellent Honey Stove and made a brew using the White Box burner unit, from the USA. Just a short one, but let me know if you enjoyed it. We took a walk over the hills of Llangollen in North Wales, to a remote woodland camp where we enjoyed the peace and quiet, some nice food and a chat by the campfire.

Notes: If you wish to enjoy trails like this then you should consider joining your local TRF. The day's run leader is an experienced member who - in addition to knowing the area - knew many of the locals, so was able to decide which trails were best avoided and which trails were best enjoyed.

Five members of the MSA Team UK squad spent two days training in Llangollen, North Wales, where they were joined by MSA Performance Managers James Wozencroft, Andy Meyrick and Tom Onslow-Cole, plus the MSA Academy sports psychology team: Dave Collins, Fergus Mumford and Andrew Cruickshank.
The Tyn Dwr Centre is run by the University of Central Lancashire's Outdoor Training team whose staff led the first day of white water rescue in a fast flowing river near Betws-y-Coed and the second day of tree-top activity in the local forests.
