The Llangollen Railway.
On our way to the Welshpool and Llanfair railway, on the 9th July 2007, we made a stop at the Llangollen Railway for a quick ride.
As I'm a little busy at the moment, I haven't put any of the on train footage together, but here is some of the footage I took at both Llangollen, and Glyndyfrdwy.
The section from Glyndyfrdwy to Carrog was closed due to flood damage apparently.

Llangollen Railway 2.8.2014 - Thomas the Tank Engine Day - steam plus Class 08, DMU's
Although a childrens / family event, there was a great selection of motive power on show today at Llangollen Railway. The highlights of the video include GWR 3802 as Goliath in full steam coming up the bank to Berwyn Station with some nice whistle tones, a multi class 6 car DMU at Glyndyfrdwy plus Jessie (aka Thomas) and Class 08 13265 as Devious Diesel racing in Llangollen Station.

Llangollen Railway - 'Along Western Lines' Steam Gala 2014 - Llangollen Station
My visit to the Llangollen Railway on Saturday 30th August 2014 to see the superb 'Along Western Lines' gala. The locomotives used were what would have run along the Cambrian Coast in the 1950s.
This is Llangollen Station and the locomotives featured are:

Ruabon to Llangollen - 1964
Dr Beeching considered the long line from Ruabon to Barmouth along the Dee valley to be surplus to requirements and its complete closure was scheduled for 18th January 1965. In the autumn of its days the ex-LMS Ivatt class 2 2-6-0 moguls were the reular motive power and we await the arrival of 46512 at Ruabon station before boarding its train and taking a journey along the double-tracked section of this route down to Llangollen, the part of the line passing through Trevor which many supporters of today's Llangollen Railway hope can one day be restored to make a connection with the national rail network once again. Ruabon will never have such complex trackwork again though!

Thomas the Tank Engine at Llangollen.
Thomas gives rides in a goods wagon and Clarabel at Llangollen (approximately pronounced Thlan-goth-len)station in North Wales. Other engines, also with faces, run normal service trains to Carrog during these events. For details of this and other events, visit co.uk

The first day of a great show put on by the Llangollen team featuring a fantastic line up. The event includes such heavyweights as 60163 Tornado and 70000 Britannia supported by the Super D 49395, the Caledonian 828 and many others.
British Steam - Llangollen Railway June 2010
We stopped into the Llangollen Railway for a quick visit whilst touring Wales in June 2010. The Class 26 Diesel arrived back at Llangollen with a train, and we rode the next train with Standard Tank 80072 in the lead. We rode the train through to Carrog, and it is good to see that the line is now almost at its next destination of Corwen.
Shunting Sunday (Llangollen Railway 05/11/2017)
In the video, we see the Llangollen Diesel Group undertaking a days shunting in the loco yard. The main purpose for the shunt was so that 2859 (recently sold to a new owner) could be retrieved from the end of the diesel road, and then place in a more accessible position ready for collection by low loader over the next few weeks.
The shunt also gave the diesel group the chance to reorganise the diesel road the way they wanted it. At the same time, opportunity was taken to prepare the Class 37 and 47 for the winter.
A good number of volunteers turned up which made the whole day relaxed and enjoyable, despite the cold wet weather. Well done to all involved.
Also featured is 2807, which was running the railways services trains. 2807 is due to stay at Llangollen for the rest of the year and is currently due to operate the Santa Specials and Winter Warmer Gala.
