Florence, Italy: Church of San Miniato and Piazzale Michelangelo
More info about travel to Florence: For a thousand years, Florence's Church of San Miniato — still part of a functioning Benedictine monastery — has blessed the city that lies at the foot of its hill. While San Miniato comes with commanding Florentine vistas, the nearby Piazzale Michelangelo, marked by its towering statue of David, is the city's most popular viewpoint.

Amore Expresso: Mama Firenze
Mama Firenze !

Italy Street Food: Florence Pork ????????

Meet the Mamas: Florence Thompson
Florence Thompson has been a seamstress for 20 years. She believes that Ghanaian customers know a good seamstress by the amount of work she already has, so Florence prides herself on gaining new customers by always keeping herself and her four apprentices busy. Before joining the Global Mamas cooperative, Florence struggled to get enough work to start her own business and to support her growing family, and her electricity had been cut off for three months. Now Florence continues to create unique clothing and improve the neatness and quality of her work. She has learned book-keeping, and stays on track so that she knows exactly how her business is doing. From her success with Global Mamas, Florence has started paying off a loan that she had defaulted on for two years.

Things to do in Florence, Italy | Must Do Travels
Hey Must Do Travels Tribe. Welcome back to another episode as we continue to explore the world together! Today we’re in Florence, Italy or, Firenze. Florence was a hub for medieval European Trade and attracts millions of tourists each year. Lets go explore!
Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore & Piazza Duomo 0:20
This cathedral is huge! Construction started in 1296 and completed 1436. The three buildings in the Piazza Duomo are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and they are a major attraction of the whole area of Tuscany. For a long time, the dome of the Duomo was the largest in the world and is still the largest one made from brick.
Piazza Della Signoria 00:58
This is an L-shaped square right by the Palazzo Vecchio. This was point of origin of the Florentine Republic and is still a major political focus of the city as it is right in front of the city’s town hall and other historic buildings of the city.
Other notable features are the Neptune fountain, and copy of the David statue by Michelangelo.
Uffizi Palace and Gallery 1:48
The Uffizi is located adjacent to the Piazza Della Signoria and houses a collection of priceless art and artefacts primarily from the Italian Renaissance period making it one of the most visited art museums around the world. Construction of the Uffizi began in 1560 to house the Florentine Magistrates. When completed 21 years later, the top floor was made into a gallery for the Medici family and their guests and included their collection of Roman sculptures.
Palazzo Vecchio 2:44
The Palazzo Vecchio is the town hall of Florence and overlooks the Piazza Della Signoria. The tower currently has three bells with the oldest being cast in the 13th century. This palace gained great importance in 1865 when Florence became the temporary capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Although most of the Palazzo Vecchio is now a museum, it remains as the symbol and centre of local government. Since 1872 it has housed the office of the mayor of Florence, and it is the seat of the City Council.
Palazzo Pitti 3:34
The Palazzo Pitti, is a Renaissance palace in Florence and is situated on the south side of the River Arno, a short distance from the Ponte Vecchio. The core of the present palazzo dates from 1458 and was originally the town residence of Luca Pitti, a Florentine banker. In the late 18th century, the palazzo was used as a power base by Napoleon and later served for a brief period as the principal royal palace of the newly united Italy. The palazzo is now the largest museum complex in Florence.
