What It's Like To Be An Amazon Flex Delivery Driver
Amazon has offered free two-day shipping for Prime members since 2005. As Amazon rolls out a one-day shipping guarantee for its 100 million Prime members, Amazon Flex drivers help solve the company's last mile problem. CNBC spoke to these on-demand contract workers all over the country to find out what it's really like to deliver for Amazon. Watch the video to hear about the pay, pace of work, and how Amazon Flex works.
Is Amazon Prime worth it? For many members, free shipping is a key Amazon Prime benefit that factors into their decision to pay $119 per year for the service. As Amazon starts offering Prime members the added benefit of one-day shipping they're working with on-demand contract drivers to help with this especially labor-intensive and expensive hand-delivery.
We spent a day with Omar Montes, a Flex driver in the San Francisco Bay Area. Omar helped a friend deliver around 46 packages in 3½ hours, for $105. “These are like the good days that make you want to continue doing Amazon. But, you know, there’s obviously bad days too,” Montes said.

Racism, School Desegregation Laws and the Civil Rights Movement in the United States
The African-American Civil Rights Movement (1955--1968) refers to the social movements in the United States aimed at outlawing racial discrimination against black Americans and restoring voting rights to them. This article covers the phase of the movement between 1955 and 1968, particularly in the South. The emergence of the Black Power Movement, which lasted roughly from 1966 to 1975, enlarged the aims of the Civil Rights Movement to include racial dignity, economic and political self-sufficiency, and freedom from oppression by white Americans.
The movement was characterized by major campaigns of civil resistance. Between 1955 and 1968, acts of nonviolent protest and civil disobedience produced crisis situations between activists and government authorities. Federal, state, and local governments, businesses, and communities often had to respond immediately to these situations that highlighted the inequities faced by African Americans. Forms of protest and/or civil disobedience included boycotts such as the successful Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955--1956) in Alabama; sit-ins such as the influential Greensboro sit-ins (1960) in North Carolina; marches, such as the Selma to Montgomery marches (1965) in Alabama; and a wide range of other nonviolent activities.
Noted legislative achievements during this phase of the Civil Rights Movement were passage of Civil Rights Act of 1964, that banned discrimination based on race, color, religion, or national origin in employment practices and public accommodations; the Voting Rights Act of 1965, that restored and protected voting rights; the Immigration and Nationality Services Act of 1965, that dramatically opened entry to the U.S. to immigrants other than traditional European groups; and the Fair Housing Act of 1968, that banned discrimination in the sale or rental of housing. African Americans re-entered politics in the South, and across the country young people were inspired to action.
Desegregation busing in the United States (also known as forced busing or simply busing) is the practice of assigning and transporting students to schools in such a manner as to redress prior racial segregation of schools, or to overcome the effects of residential segregation on local school demographics.
7 principles for building better cities | Peter Calthorpe
More than half of the world's population already lives in cities, and another 2.5 billion people are projected to move to urban areas by 2050. The way we build new cities will be at the heart of so much that matters, from climate change to economic vitality to our very well-being and sense of connectedness. Peter Calthorpe is already at work planning the cities of the future and advocating for community design that's focused on human interaction. He shares seven universal principles for solving sprawl and building smarter, more sustainable cities.

Mind the Matrix FULL FILM EN/NL/ES/DE/FR/PT
For the new series MIND THE MATRIX II go on !
DISCLAIMER: This film offers OPINIONS and FACTS.
In the case of people’s personal experiences shared in this documentary, it is of the utmost importance that you DO NOT accept and believe everything you hear and see without doing your own research and feeling what your own truth is, as seen through your own personal filters.
#matrix #awakening #consciousness #spirituality #mindthematrix #authenticself #spirit #enlightenment #innerself #connection #shaman #cosmos #conditioning #documentary #meditation #higherself
#awakening
This film is to invite people to wake up and find the truth how they see it.
Everyone’s experience is different and it is within the crossovers that we find a commonly accepted reality.
The makers of this film also do not encourage the viewer to drink Ayahuasca. This film is not about this medicine plant. It is only mentioned in the beginning of this film whereby the narrator shares an experience. However the rest of the film does not focus on this plant. Attending an Ayahuasca ceremony is not for everyone and should be very carefully considered.
Since the release of this film, the filmmaker believes humanity’s collective consciousness has expanded considerably to make a significant collective change in the matrix template.
This film is subtitled in: English/Nederlands/Deutsch/Espanol/Francais
Our external reality is an expression of what we have collectively created together and we consider this to be REALITY.
Reality in this case means ‘OUR THOUGHTS REALISED’. So, yes, it is a form of reality indeed.
However, a lot of the realities we have created are not in harmony with our true being and planet earth. Western society is a slash and burn reality where what we take is not given back. This will eventually result in the exhaustion of resources of our planet.
The way we treat planet Earth is a result of how we treat ourselves and thus others.
We tend to think in a linear way and not in a cyclical way where what goes out comes back in and vise versa:
A dance between our internal eternal spirit and the physical external realm.
It is like we have become so mesmerized that we believe that the external world is all there is. We hang on to it for dear life and since we know our resources are finite, fear and greed put us into a constant survival mode.
In the mean time our true being is not integrated as much as is healthy for our wellbeing. It is like we walk around like zombies; cleverly reflected by the large amount of zombie movies that have come out over the past 10 years.
The film ‘Mind the Matrix’ looks at all this and with the help of various experts, hands the viewer tools on how to get back to our natural state of inner and outer harmony.
This is where global change will start. With ourselves. Once we have rediscovered the nature of who we really are, this will automatically be reflected outwards. Our ‘reality’ will then be adjusted all by itself.
By remaining focused outwards, we as humans may just get exhausted of trying for change and not seeing any.
Like Mahatma Gandhi said ‘Be the change that you want in the world’.
Please watch the movie and share it with as many people as you feel to.
If you speak a foreign language and you would like it to be available in your country, please contact mindthematrix.com to suggest volunteers who can translate the English version.
Enjoy watching.

The film traces the origins of our beliefs about healthful and unhealthful food. Experts from all over the world talk about the problems as well as short and long term solutions. Among the many experts in the film are authors like Gary Taubes, Mark Sisson, and Melanie Warner. Medical doctors such as David Perlmutter M.D., David L. Katz, and Timothy Noakes share insights that are certain to challenge the status quo.
Carb-Loaded: A Culture Dying to Eat is a chronicle of the things it's writer and director Lathe Poland learned after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He sought to find out why he got sick, because he didn't fit the classic picture of an adult onset diabetes sufferer. He quickly learned that much of what he knew about healthy eating was based on myths or fifty year old science. In the film he searches out why Americas modern food culture is killing us. The upside? There is a lot that can be done!

Reviews:
''This is a great Tonino Valerii & Sergio Leone film featuring Henry Fonda & Terence Hill. This is a take on the Trinity character Hill has done in the past, not the same character but a variation of it. This movie is a lot more serious than the Trinity(s) but still provides some very very funny scenes & plenty of them. The more serious side is a great story, a man (Fonda) who is a living legend, especially in the eyes of a stranger (Hill) who will do everything he can to see his hero get written in the history books. It is adventurous, touching, and hysterical. All the elements of a perfect film for me. Also features an amazing soundtrack by none other than Ennio Morricone. Both the film & its score are gems. Worth watching over & over. A true 10!'' Written by AriSquad on IMDb.
''Great movie. From an idea of Sergio Leone, the guy from the good, bad and ugly trilogy. Terence hill is awesome. Fonda is himself. truly a great movie, in the best of the A-class spaghetti western tradition. Recommend for lovers of bud Spencer and Terence hill, but even more for lovers of Clint Eastwood and Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone. the soundtrack is also fantastic. I found brilliant the way the director combined the lightheartedness of Hill and the stare-down gunfight angle of traditional Eastwood westerns. Also look for they called him trinity and sequel, also great movie, and those include bud Spencer. The movie is actually filmed in New Mexico, Acoma and surroundings, so the scenery is also fantastic. The original language is English, even though most of the cast is Italian, and both the Italian and English version are great. However, in the best spaghetti tradition I believe the Italian might capture some fine details better than the original. Ultimately I believe Terence Hill could have become a famous star of the caliber of Eastwood had he pursued that path instead of continuing the career as Bud Spencer's partner in crime.''
