Malaysia Cartoon & Comic House, Kuala Lumpur.
This wonderful museum was definitely an unforgettable experience on a recent visit to beautiful Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia.Situated just outside Kuala Lumpur, (near the Bird Park),this small but cosy house exhibits more than 500 pieces of cartoons and comics by 50 artists. The museum features Malaysian cartoons, caricatures, and comics. The entrance fee is RM5 for an adult.MCCH traces the development of Malaysian cartoons and comics from the early 1930s to present day.A large collection of these artworks are originals drawn by renowned Malaysian artists.
I was enthusiastically shown around by the exhibition manager, Mr.Tazidi Yusof, who kindly allowed me to take photos. These photos can be viewed below.Mr Tazidi Yusof is a respected Malaysian cartoonist and has some of his outstanding work on display.Make sure you meet him if you are ever in this part of the world. He is a truly a gentleman and will answer all your questions on Malaysian cartoon and artists.
Thanks again for your loyal and outstanding support????

A beret (UK /ˈbɛreɪ/[1] berr-ay or US /bəˈreɪ/[2] bə-ray; French: [beʁɛ]) is a soft, round, flat-crowned hat, usually of woven, hand-knitted wool, crocheted cotton, wool felt,[3] or acrylic fibre.
Mass production began in 19th century France and Spain, countries with which it remains associated. Berets are worn as part of the uniform of many military and police units worldwide, as well as by other organisations
In fashion and culture[edit]
The beret is part of the long-standing stereotype of the intellectual, film director, artist, hipster, poet, bohemian and beatnik. The painter Rembrandt and the composer Richard Wagner, among others, wore berets.[13] In the United States and Britain, the middle of the 20th century saw an explosion of berets in women's fashion. In the latter part of the 20th century, the beret was adopted by the Chinese both as a fashion statement and for its political undertones. Berets were also worn by bebop and jazz musicians like Dizzy Gillespie, Gene Krupa, Wardell Gray and Thelonious Monk.
As a revolutionary symbol[edit]
Guerrillero Heroico, one of the most famous photographs of the Argentine revolutionary Che Guevara, shows him wearing a black beret with a brass star.
In the 1960s several activist groups adopted the black beret. These include the Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA), the ETA guerrillas (who wore black berets over hoods in public appearances), the Black Panther Party of the United States, formed in 1966,[14] and the Black Beret Cadre (a similar Black Power organisation in Bermuda).[15] In addition, the Brown Berets were a Chicano organisation formed in 1967. The Young Lords Party, a Latino revolutionary organisation in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s, also wore berets, as did the Guardian Angels unarmed anti-crime citizen patrol units originated by Curtis Sliwa in New York City in the 1970s to patrol the streets and subways to discourage crime (red berets and matching shirts).

Malaysian cartoonist Zunar in conversation with cartoonist Martin Rowson
Zulkiflee Anwar Haque, aka Zunar, is currently facing a record number of nine simultaneous charges under Malaysia’s sedition act in a trial that is scheduled to begin on 20 May.
Originally enacted by British authorities in 1948, the sedition act is an old piece of colonial legislation which is being used to silence opponents and suppress free speech in a country where the ruling party has not changed in 57 years.
“Maybe here you have a government,” Zunar told a packed house at London’s Free Word Centre, “in Malaysia we have a regime… a cartoon government”.
Visiting London a week before his trial is due to open, 53-year-old Zunar remained upbeat despite the possibility of his spending up to 43 years behind bars.
Zunar took the opportunity to launch his recent book of cartoons, Ros in Kankong Land. Poking fun at Rosmah Mansor, the powerful wife of Malaysian PM Najib Razak, the book has been repeatedly barred from being launched officially in Malaysia.
With five of his books already banned for containing cartoons deemed “detrimental to public order”, his Kuala Lumpur office repeatedly raided, and publishers and bookstores across his country warned off printing or carrying any of his titles, censorship is an everyday challenge for Zunar.
Why carry on? Because he “wants to tell Malaysians that you are the ones who suffer from corruption”, ending the evening by drawing a cartoon depicting his fellow countrymen, propping up their regime and suffering painfully under the weight of their rulers.
