Malcha Mahal, New Delhi-The Story Behind India’s Most Haunted Mahal
This video gives a view of most haunted place of Delhi - Malcha Mahal.
Me and my vlogging partner went to the Mahal to explore the whole Mahal .
We found many things strange .
To know more watch the video.
The story dates back to the time of India’s freedom when the Malcha Mahal had lost all its glory. Begum Wilayat Mahal found a unique way to protest.
Malcha Mahal iscurrently occupied by 2 members of a royal family of Oudh, Prince Riaz and Princess Sakina, children of Princess Wilayat Mahal, the Begum of Oudh.
Princess Wilayat Mahal was the granddaughter of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Oudh. When Nawab Wajid Ali deposed and his property was seized by Britishers, Begum started to fight with the Indian Government for their property to have that back which is currently shaped into a pharma research center.
She along with her two children and a dog confined herself to the VIP lounge of Railway Station in Delhi for 9 years.. That’s when the Government decided to give them the Malcha Mahal back. But sadly, by that time the Malcha Mahal didn’t provide all the luxuries that it used to. This was surely not less than a ghostly place for a human being full of lizards, snakes, and other insects.
Who possibly can live without water, electricity, and bats all around? The family had also cut themselves off from the outer world. This type of living condition would have an adverse effect on anyone.
The children couldn’t bury her body and lived with her for 10 days. People had a belief that the Mahal had hidden treasures and hence, attacked it and even dug the Begum’s grave. Her children then burned their mother’s body.

Malcha Mahal After The Lonely Death Of Delhi's Jungle Prince : BBC Hindi

The Raza family-owned huge estates and vast palaces where they hosted lavish parties and lived an extravagant life. However, he was very lonely during the last few days of his life. Raza was buried at a cemetery near Delhi Gate with some help from the Waqf Board. Police ruled out any foul play in the death.

Indianama – Wilayat Mahal’s Palace, Delhi
Nestled in the thick woods of Delhi’s northern ridge near Malcha Marg once existed the palace of Rani Wiliayat Mahal, the claimant royal belonging to the erstwhile kingdom of Awadh.
Four decades back Wilayat Mahal came to Delhi after being ousted from the royalty. She came here with her two children – Ali Raza and Sakina, the royal guards, her grey hound dogs and some of gems and jewellery, carpets, collection of books and private correspondence as per the information goes.
She began living at the fences of New Delhi Railway Station near State Entry Road in protest seeking rehabilitation. After she wrote to the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Wilayat Mahal was given to stay in a hunting lodge in the middle of the canvassing ridge.
Who will claim Malcha Mahal after Prince Raza's death
Now , the big question is who will get the possession of the Malcha Mahal, hidden under thick foliage deep inside the central Ridge along the Sardar Patel Marg. One may ask what Malcha Mahal, well, many would not know about this Mahal until it had made headlines a few years back when Prince Ali Raza (Cyrus), the decedent of last king of Avadh, Nawab Wajid Ali Shahhad his sister Sakina, and their mother Begum Wilayat Mahal went to stay in Malcha Mahal, along with a pack of hounds, and a few servants. However, the family chose a life of isolation right from the beginning. After the death of Prince Raza who died in September, the big question is who will be the heir to this Mahal. According to sources, ASI may stake claim of the Mahal and a high level team of experts will be constituted. Earlier Mahal had occupied the first class waiting lounge at New Delhi Railway Station. She had demanded compensation from the Indian government for the British taking over all the properties of the Nawab after deposing him in 1856.
